The emphasis on "Beat 1" is funk. Look back at some of your favorite James Brown tracks and you'll notice the 1 being the emphasis. Bootsy learned it from James. Prince uses it on Housequake. That said, I hadn't realized it on this song - good ear Mr. Jon. And by the way, the offbeat claps at the end is called, "giddy-up" like a horse running.... giddy-up giddy-up giddy-up giddy-up - say it in time with the claps and you'll totally hear it. How did you hear those intermittent kicks between elect/acoustic - very very good ears.

Haven't heard anything new for a while. You all good bro? Hey, what would you think about doing a personal review of your subscribers tracks. Personally, if a first one gave me something of good use; like maybe an, " I would have done this or not have done that" or even it's great but....." then after that, we might consider paying you for reviews and idea's? Maybe a new way to bring in some bucks (US for money) :)
@@PolymathProducer This one. It still has the scratch vocal on it. I'm looking for a Bruno Mars/Prince etc type of vocalist but not a lot of funk singers run in my circle. What do you think of the track. First time I ever recorded live horns. Good to hear you are well...and back! ua-cam.com/video/R9h5QS2TdVE/v-deo.html
8:58 I think there's a short tape stop on those brass hits.
22:18 quarter note dry claps on the beat; quarter note wet claps on a different track on the &. Very cool idea.
That guy is my hero! He's responsible for Ace of base, Backstreet boys, Robin, Taylor Swift, etc.

Have you seen a real Max Martin pro tools session before?
No midi, and all chopping of bits of audio, very cool and unique. Very unconventional.
