I know an old black MK Umkhonto Wesizwe man who was in Exile in communist Russia and got trained there , he started out as young boy in black township supporting communism and socialism but after he stayed in communist Russia he became disillusioned with it . An Economist Adam Smith was right when he said " The reason you find a bread 🍞🍞🍞🍞🍞 waiting for you in the morning it's not because the Baker is benovalent ,it's because the Baker has SELF-INTEREST".

Imbecile!! the baker has/had SELF INTEREST in baking otherwise that would have all died of starvation within months. It's natural that when the murderous thieving psychopaths accumulate massive amount of wealth, there will always be swarms of people attracted as the crumbs of death are distributed. The intent had a foundation, then it constantly evolves through improvement, education, and so on. Would you like to go back to the 1850's when children would go down mines, Was THAT communism? OR children working in mines in Niger for French cappies, is that communism.OR Indian children scrounging through mile high garbage tips, is that communism. Should send you lot and your kids down the mines to give you a dose of capitalism.

I would like to see how capitalist powers would have won the Cold War without having Africa and Latin America to exploit (and have soldiers from colonies die in place of their own, in WW2 I mean).
Another important factor is that the Cold War started after World War 2, and look at how much the USSR suffered from WW2 compared to USA or even France and UK.
In the USSR whole cities were ruined, millions of civilians were either killed or displaced, land was burned and bombed out, genocide was committed by Nazi Germany in the USSR, Poland and in Yugoslavia. Meanwhile USA's mainland was completely untouched by the war, this puts USA in a big advantage.
China suffered a similar amount of damage to the USSR from Japanese occupation and then civil war.
Yet despite all these disadvantages the USSR still managed to rival the Western Block, rebuild, put the first man in space, and even help African and Asian national liberation movements fight for independence. Once you take in all the numerous factors and contemporary conditions you see that it was never a fair fight.
Capitalism will not work in Africa because Africans don't have a third party they would go and exploit, in contrast, Africans end up the exploited party by the global capitalist centers of power (who will then go on to claim "Look how good capitalism is!") or by other Africans who make up a very small select cast of the society.

@@mikolowiskamikolowiska4993 East Germany actually had a higher standard of living for the general population than many capitalist countries, including Apartheid South Africa. It didn't have the extreme forms of wealth that a tiny minority of South Africans enjoyed, but in the broad population and the bottom of the society no East German ever lived in such precarious conditions as the majority of South Africans were subjected to. That's a fact!
East Germany resembled social democratic countries like Denmark, Sweden or the Netherlands in that regard, while Apartheid South Africa had more in common with countries like Brazil, Columbia or Honduras, where you have a minority of the population enjoying extraordinary wealth, while most of the population live in abject poverty without access to basic services and amenities.

He is operating from a morally higher ground because of what was done to Africa, and he speaks only his truth. You can NOT argue with someone speaking their truth. He also has historical fact on his side. So, when you say something, you really need to be sure it is factually correct. Good luck Julius. I really want to see how successful you can be. The world is so scared of Africa trying something different. Being independent. All I can say is if the West or Europe are against it... do THAT thing.

Socialism always fails when it runs out of other people's money to dish out.
China saw its brand of socialism failing and that is why it opened up it's economy to American capitalism to manufacture stuff for America and Europe.

If Africa really wanted to do something different it would not be flooding everyone's borders. If Africa really wanted to be something it would not be dependent on whites, if Africa wanted to do good it would of long ago stopped begging everyone and reunited.
Sadly Africa does none of these things, and if you had 2 brain cells they would tell you that Julius is schooling noone. Communism is known to have failed and all forms of it have been tried. What nonsense. China is NOT a free state. Chinese people are not free. China is built on a bubble, BASED on the Capitalistic World - it's economy is built on free world technology and principles, yet it's people are not free. Dictated to, restricted.
Cuba is a TOTAL failure; worse than even South Africa, now. Most, if not all, are unemployed, there is limited food, hospital supplies etc. People are suffering, farms do not operate, if they do they use oxen not machinery - unaffordable; people are fleeing. What nonesense.
And socialism has ALREADY FAILED WHEREVER IT HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTED IN AFRICA - ALREADY. Because of human nature of Greed. Most prevalent in yet undeveloped States. - which is most, of Africa - it's form in South Africa has already DEPLETED and destroyed South Africa, ON EVERY LEVEL. With an unsustainable social system taking from those that create and giving to those that simply consume - through no fault of their own. But the failed Government. Malema and EFF have NO proven experience of delivering. Of producing. Of managing ANY economy. NOT EVEN A MUNICIPALITY. The only proof is what they have destroyed, themselves consumed. AND NOW TO SCHOOL ONE OF THE MOST SUCCESSFUL ECONOMIES EVER - GERMANY - FROM TOTAL DESTRUCTION TO TOP 5; AND THE FAILED EASTERN GERMANY? WHO KNOW FIRST HAND.
THIS IS HOW ARROGANT AFRICA IS - THEY WERE HANDED ONE OF THE MOST ADVANCED ECONOMIES ANDINDUSTRIES IN THE WORLD IN 1994 IN SOUTH AFRICA; NEVER BEFORE HAPPENED ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD. AND IN THIRTY YEARS, THEY DESTROYED WHAT WAS BUILT - BY AND LARGE IN 40 YEARS - FROM 1950 to 1994.
Singapore and South Korea, in 30 years. were built from NOTHING, NO NATURAL RESOURCES - FAILED STATES - TO GLOBAL POWERHOUSES - ON CAPITALISM - AND SOUTH AFRICA?.
But dream on, believe a man who has never, ever had a job, created anything, lives a life of Riley, in mansions, send his kidss to private school - yet 'schools' those who know. And Mzansi Burns. Stupid is as Stupid does.

The ambassador never claimed that EFF is following the ideology of Mao Zedong. In fact, he was sharing his own East German experience, which had nothing to do with Mao Zedong, but with the USSR-aligned SED Party of East Germany, which followed Marxism-Leninism of the Soviet kind, not Maoism.
In fact it is Malema who brought up China as a role-model for "Socialism", failing to understand that China's rise to economic success actually started once the CCP abandonned Maoism and embraced a free market economy!
Germany is not "scared" of Socialism, in fact Germany is a semi-socialist nations that spends a huge percentage of it's GDP on public health care, free education and welfare. It's just that East Germans in particular experienced a socialist form of governance for four decades, hence they have an understanding of the reality in a state that is organised along those principles.
If you want to learn first hand about life in East Germany, you can maybe ask someone in your extended family, who has stayed in East Germany during those times? East Germany hosted many of the ANC cadres and students of the 1976 generation, who went into exile. Maybe one of your relatives was among them and can tell you!

China's success was attributed to their not having minimum wages or unions which attracted half of the factories in the USA to relocate to China, where there were suddenly plentiful jobs available, and the working population were able to learn trades and skills, until they were able on stand on their own feet, and salaries naturally rose with their skill levels. Unlike SA where there is now no foreign investment, and no job creation, thanks to violent workers and unacceptable union demands, and corrupt politicians like Malema who speaks with forked tongue.
There is only one way for the SA economy to turn around. Copy the Chinese method of zero minimum wages and labour laws, and no unions. But that's enough for juju to chock on his own vomit.🤣

As a German I hate the smug smile before he even starts his bullsh*t. What stops communism from working is American warfare and 'sanctions' against whoever they don't like. And the BRD and the united Germany had "soziale Marktwirtschaft" (social market) for decades. But, of course, the smug guy is smarter and more educated then everybody else. Germany still has parts of socialism even after dismantling and privatizing so much. And the funniest thing: the more socialism for workers gets taken away the more bailouts for the rich happen. So, Malema is perfectly right. ... I'd just emphasize that China's state capitalist way of implementing socialism is certainly not the only way. Unions, worker co-ops and workplace democratization are better ways of getting to the 'workers own the means of production' thing that Marx etc. talked about.

South African economic model will need to incorporate a significant element of what Germans call ‘financial equalisation’ or the British would term ‘levelling-up’ With a Gini coefficient score of 63, South Africa has the highest inequality in the world and need to get serious about addressing this. It is estimated that Germany has invested 2 trillion USD in the former East Germany to raise productivity from 60% of that of west Germany immediately after reunification to 85% today. The GDP per capita of East Germany now exceeds that of many cities in the north of England. So there is definitely something to be learnt from these Germans

Communism: Classless society from the end of accumulation of capitals
    Capitalism: Accumulation of capital
Here in Scandinavia the worker's unions gave up revolution in exchange for the owners paying welfare taxes and making job contracts. Social democracy is not Socialism

The old fashion capitalism or rather genuine free enterprise is barely surviving in the contemporary Germany. "Just as left-wing anti-capitalists in Germany say they are committed to the “social market economy”, so right-wing anti-capitalists say they oppose capitalism but are not against the market economy. But their commitment to the market economy cannot be taken seriously, since the central features of the market economy, such as private ownership, are roundly rejected. As lip service, of course, both left-wing and right-wing anti-capitalists today often profess their support for private ownership. But - subscribing as they do to the “primacy of politics” - they want the state to set very narrow limits on ownership."

Living expenses have gotten so high that more and more realise it is better to join the unemployed, as after taxes, school fees etc you have nothing. When you have no job the school fees of your kids are for free etc. Having said that in socialism everyone must work. The 50% of the population on dole will not want that. They would support the government taking everything and letting it fail and then receiving nothing at the end thereof. They will then leave for Europe.

People from those countries work very hard, well educated, but they are not fairly treated because they chose what works for themselves. Capitalism in South Africa is not working for the majority, after colonialism to apartheid to Capitalism, all 3 are just oppression to the poor. They bring deep poverty and inequality. Poor people in South Africa who have nothing will benefit from socialism. Its the wealthy who only care about Capitalism coz it suits them. Its a very selfish system

The German Ambassador was not ignored, he was thoroughly answered and schooled in the process. There is no such a thing as Capitalism in the modern world. Those advocating for Capitalism are like naughty kids that go on a risky adventure knowing well that should anything go wrong their parents will come to the rescue. They rely on the government to layout a safety net of public funds, yet if they are successful in their adventures they enjoy their spoils without remorse because many times they try to dodge tax.

We can ignore it because he's talking nonsense. One can get bad implementations of any idea. That doesn't mean those efforts cannot be improved upon, particularly with the benefit of knowledge acquired from experience. Obviously, they can be. That's how progress works. As Malema said, you take the good, discard the bad, and try other approaches to the same idea.

It’s not true or correct that the state always intervened when private capital fails. The failure rate for new businesses is very high (60-90%) and state does not intervene.
The state intervenes eg with banks because the economic fall out affects a disproportionate number of people who are also voters. It might also have an implication on social safety net/ social spending. There are companies that are too big to fail & the domino effect can be economically and politically disastrous.
The challenge is when the state is a player and referee in an industry. It’s a lose lose. There is no true capitalist country, they are mixed economies… the degree of mix varies. Countries like France and U.K. are approx 50/50
