This gold was accumulated and was intended to be used to establish a Pan African currency based on the Libyan gold dinar. This provided an alternative to the French franc for francophone African countries. France discovered this plan.

Gaddafi had advocated for Africa to use the abundant gold in Libya and South Africa to create an African currency based on a gold dinar for all foreign exchange..in other words, if countries wanted to buy resources from Africa they would have to do so in gold dinars not dollars. The dinar has a much higher value than the dollar, hence making Africa richer by default. This gold was accumulated and was intended to be used to establish a Pan African currency based on the Libyan gold dinar. This provided an alternative to the French franc for francophone African countries. France discovered this plan.

Wonderful speech, coming from a position of principled ideas and strength. The Spanish ambassador's question was a good jumping off point; his only mistake, quite possibly unintended, was that the question he posed, "what would you ask 'from' us", would have been better posed as, " what would you ask 'of' us," which would have meant the Ambassador (Spain, at least) was opening the door to a dialogue about a completely new, refreshing and friendly, relationship.
He asked like supremacist, and because of arrogance, he meant it.
He said exactly what the west wants to know. How can we pay you or profit you to let things stay the same. And by the way, the west has massive military bases all over Africa in case you want to much. And the western media is great at spinning yarns and pretenses for war!

I'm an white American but y'all are speaking my language, I've been saying each nation and/or region should produced most of their own goods and trade mainly in raw material on the world markets... I also believe in sovereignty and self-rule, would also love to see a United Africa, a United South America and United Central America to protect from this imperial world order that has been in control for too many centuries. A side note would love to see the real treaty the USA signed with Great Britain, France, and Spain after the Revolutionary War because the US has been fighting their war since then like in Jamaica when they won their independence from France and Britain. We went in and force them to pay for their freedom the Jamaicans had won before we stuck are nose into it. Can't help but we are just Western European World Rulers' puppets that why we are doing what we're doing in Ukraine. I hope and pray for world peace because 2 World Wars were strikes and a third strike means we are out.

The only mistake is wanting to trade with raw materials. Why not finished goods?
Finished products are good I just believe its best to produce finished products as close to where they're being bought so more of the money is staying in a region, just a way of keeping local employment up. Also say instead of my home country USA destroying Africa, Central and South America mining like we have been but have to look at our own resources first.. Probably wouldn't work but if the US is going to ruin a country it should be our own first and y'all hopefully wouldn't continue to mine the way we have you doing now. I understand your point and I do believe there will always be finished good being traded among countries and regions.@@mkholom
