    These are so pretty 😍.
    I tried making some resin pieces, but they didn't cure properly, they were tacky to the touch (don't think I got the measurements right) and it put me off, but after watching you make these beautiful pieces for jewellery it's made me want to give it another go 😀
    I'm not sure which is the best resin to use though. I live in the UK, so not sure if I can get the same as you're using, but I'll have a look.
    Thank you for this tutorial and inspiring me to give it another go.

    • @DezyJewelry
      @DezyJewelry  2 роки тому +3

      Oh my goodness I had that happen to me where it didn't cure properly. I was so upset. I really don't know if I didn't measure correctly or if I did not mix long enough. Either way that is so frustrating!!!
      For this particular earring/pendant it doesn't matter if you get the best resin or even the resin I used in the video. I have used 4 types of resin epoxy and I could have used any of them for the earrings I made in this video.
      The only suggestion I have if you ever use alcohol ink and drop it in when the epoxy is already in your mold do not use thick epoxy because the ink doesn't spread as pretty. you want runny epoxy. So I never use the jdiction epoxy when I am using alcohol ink because it just doesn't turn out as well.
      You are so welcome. I am excited for you to give it another go!! Have fun!

    question: when you use the back.... is there an unlevel line that has to be sanded down? or does it level itself?

    • @DezyJewelry
      @DezyJewelry  Рік тому +1

      When it dries you will need to sand the edges. But Resin levels on its own. But some times it creeps up the side in the mold.

    What a great video! Further inspiring is your prayer, I really appreciate it! As a total noob, I'm struggling to find the right stuff- could you plz tell me what mask you use?

    • @DezyJewelry
      @DezyJewelry  2 роки тому +1

      You are not a noob at all. It is hard when you are first starting to know what you need. My husband had to run out and get me a mask because I didn't know what I needed. I looked at my mask and saw that it is an N95 mask.
      Make sure also you are in a well ventilated space. If you can have a window open. It was 100 degrees out side yesterday so I couldn't open my windows but when night came and it cooled down I made sure I had the window open to air out more fumes. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

    Do you use anything to dry and get rid of bubbles?

    • @DezyJewelry
      @DezyJewelry  Рік тому

      I am sure you can. But you can’t have the white as deep of white because the Light won’t penetrate the uv resin and it won’t cure properly. But you can still do the concept but it would have to be done slightly different

    Could you use UV J Diction with Alcohol ink to get the same color effect?

    • @DezyJewelry
      @DezyJewelry  Рік тому +1

      With the clear and gold flakes yes but you can’t have as deep of white because the uv light won’t penetrate through the UV resin. You can’t color the same with epoxy resin as you can with UV resin. You have to not color as much or as saturated with UV or it doesn’t cure aka dry properly. Does that help 😁

    Wow these are great. Thanks for the video. I'm a newbie and the few prices iv tried so far (uva resin) I find them really tacky and I always spoil them with my finger prints when i un mold them.. do you have a technique you use to stop this plz..also I find the few I have attempted have been sharp once dried ..do I need to sand them and if so how do I do this without dulling them further..sorry for all the questions.. ps your bubbly personality makes this video fun to watch..

    • @DezyJewelry
      @DezyJewelry  2 роки тому +1

      So UV Resin you need to put the light on the front where you are working and once you do that you need to flip your piece over and put the light on the back or it will be tacky. The light can't penetrate all the way through and you need to put it under the light on the back side (which technically is the front side hahaha)
      Also you can't color uv resin like you do epoxy. Epoxy you can put as much color as you want but with uv resin they have to be a bit transparent so the light can go through all of it. And all color agents you can use with Epoxy doesn't mix well with uv at times. Hahah I have had many mistakes trying to color the same way i do with Epoxy as I do with resin. Does that make sense?
      Yes they are sharp and you will need to get a sand paper but just do the edges. Don't sandpaper the whole side just the edges. Does that make sense.
      Oh I am so glad my video was enjoyable. That makes me so happy to hear.
      if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
      In the next couple of weeks I am about to put out both epoxy and UV resin videos. So they will hopefully be able to help you as well.

    • @DezyJewelry
      @DezyJewelry  2 роки тому +1

      Yep it is close but I have never had a problem with melting the mold. I don’t know if my lighter is on low or not as hot as yours but I have never had problem. And silicone mold should have some resistance to heat since we use silicone molds for baking with. So I am curious why yours melted.

    • @Jeea84
      @Jeea84 2 роки тому +1

      @@DezyJewelry I’m not sure. Perhaps the quality matters? Besides my molds are “resin molds”. My baking molds are very different, in shapes sizes material all of it…. 🤨🤔 This is confusing me… my torch isn’t even that big! It’s a tiny thing… it might be the type of torch. (I’m not happy with it either, but I don’t have many choices). I’ll research. But I think it must be the quality of my molds. That material is quite soft. I’ve had many of my molds stuck to whatever I’m making and struggling with it in the beginning. At the time I didn’t know very much about resin or molds or torching. But I still manage to do it even after two years, so it’s probably not all me. =)
      To anyone who’s reading, please research on your torch in loads of detail before buying. It’s really important to make a clear resin product.
