The A1 with the s-line suspension is stiff and it makes the car fun, you can throw the car around in a backroad. It is amazing how much grip it has and it is a lot of fun, even with the smalles engine
Ive owned my A1 TDi Sport, for nearly three years, and its been a magnificent car. Ive had no issues with it, and due to its incredible build quality, still looks almost new. It was not a cheap car to buy new, but which Audi is affordable. It has met all my expectations in the Audi brand, and i hope to keep it for some considerable time.
wait? Mat did leave car buyer and joined carwow? and why can i not see how many subscribers you guys have. Mat is one of the best car reviewers on the planet btw
Me too. With your support I'm sure it will. And you'll be watching me review the Ford Fiesta MK78 in 2194 (in 2023 I predict we will find a cure for aging)
A car for people that love life and don't look at stereotypes. Who aren't satisfied with cheap plastic and find the Polo too bland and can afford it. Small Audis, wake me up for it!! The best supermini EVER! This showed the world that cars don't have to look and feel cheap and also have quality in smaller segment.
Simon George I said 'bland'. I didn't say it was awful, how can you not like the Polo. What was so bad about it? And the A1 comes from the same company basically!
Not much fun? I have a 2.0 tdi sline black edition and have plenty of fun in it, tons of grunt out of the corners and a 0-60 of 8 secs is not to shabby either :)
+Nick Wills Please forgive me on this. There is as much info in this review as I always did. See the separate vids as extra. I need to do it this way for our website as we have different sections in the site that need video. Sorry. Hope you like the reviews anyhow.
+Mat Watson err.. not really, through the magic of editing you could combine all the parts into one video as well, and still have the different parts for your website. The reason for spliting different segments into separate videos is to drive traffic to your website and to garner unique views for ad revenue - i.e. If l watch one "full" review that equals 1 PPC (price-per-click), if l then have to click on 4 different videos to get the full review that equals 4 PPC's to you. Game the system, maximize your revenue (w/ some minor inconvenience to us), cool, but don't fob us off with "..I need to do it this way for our website.. different sections in the site that need video.."
Am I the only one who like the way they separate the video? So I dont need to spend more time on things I'm not interested to know. Plus, in my opinion watching this video is enough if all you want is quick preview / summary of the car.
I like it too. Oh wait... It's my idea... Course I like it. Maybe there are lots of people who like it too but just stay silent about it. That's what our stats suggest.
I really wish car reviewers would lift the rear head restraints before putting the seats down. Its the head restraints that stop folding rear seats from lying completely flat. If you lift them up they will be flat!
One of the only superminis that can fit two large adults in the back is the Jazz. Of course, they don't do a punchy Jazz..... Come to think about it, the Jazz might be roomier than the Civic.
Remapped my 1.6 TDI to 152 horsepower, installed Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks & I eat any Mini/Fiesta for lunch (excluding JCW and ST versions, but they aren't too far from it).
+TheMatteoStudios dun Audi and VW share most components together. If it's about the emission scandal, I think it's only for the diesel models. City cars are awesome with a peppy small petrol engine.
+vishagan sheagar the A1 and the polo do not share a lot of parts together nor do other Audis and Volkswagens you only will notice little things like the light controls
The format of delivery is confusing. It breaks the context. "Click up there to watch out... ".. no. I want to watch one video, make two version - a 5 minute summary and an extended 15 minute detailed review. But don't break it into pieces and ask me to chase those pieces.
Then people complain... Why did you make two reviews of the same car??? And if I put it all together the vast majority of viewers have left the video at 5mins... But they never say anything in the comments. They are just gone.
Our stats show the majority of the people don't really do that. They just watch, get bored, leave and never return. BTW did you notice how there were no ads?
I said all the controls, Inc the steering, are light, it's easy to drive and it's comfy. But not that much fun. If you want more on the nuances of delicacy of the helm, the sophistication of the primary ride and the composure of the secondary ride and greater detail on the lateral G and lean angles in mid to low mu conditions you will need to subscribe to Evo, as I don't cover that stuff. But they don't tend to review A1s. I do cover how there is a hook in the boot you can hang your Waitrose bag for life from in the boot to prevent your Chablis from smashing as you go round a corner in at 54mph. That matters to real A1 buyers. However fret not! I have taken your point on board and there will be more detail on dynamics for certain cars... Such as the performance cars which I will be covering soon. So please bear with me ;)
In hindsight this is a very short and not very comprehensive "review" Staff reading this... Watch this again and give your opinion on it. Thumbs down for that reason.
Be aware of second-hand car sellers... There are too many scammers and cheaters who sell their cars at a good price which is not worthy of those car conditions...
@Suzanne Duncan yeah .. My friend advised me to visit a web portal which is confidentcarbuyer there is a course which support me as a proficient in this matter..
@Suzanne Duncan on this web portal, there are many videos about buying used cars and engine conditions and also many items... This is just compact and free also..
Yes. So don't fall for my evil plan. Those vids are all public on our YT channel. So just watch them in the app later there. Seriously we have different sections on our website which those extra videos go into. And if someone is in our website watching the vids we don't want to link them out to UA-cam obvs. We may never see them again as they get caught up watching dancing hamsters and hot girls shooting ak47s. Anyway, sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks
Because they're still new
@@VolvoXC90TV Thanks
His old videos are very refreshing and gives the ecstatic England vibe.
The quality of this vids is outstanding
Great to see Mat reviewing again. Hope the new channel and business will do well!

Firemarioflower well said. The Polo is awful, had a new one in 2012, top spec TDI model. Worst new car I ever bought
Simon George I said 'bland'. I didn't say it was awful, how can you not like the Polo.
What was so bad about it?
And the A1 comes from the same company basically!
Simon George polo is the best car
The A1 is based on the Polo. Polo is more practical and more affordable. Expensive model polo looks great. It's cheaper to run too.
I can't decide if I should buy this or polo gti,the gti is faster
Not much fun? I have a 2.0 tdi sline black edition and have plenty of fun in it, tons of grunt out of the corners and a 0-60 of 8 secs is not to shabby either :)
David D but its a diesel though, and nobody would buy one if they didn't have turbos fitted. Dpf, egr, all good fun plus noisy. Enjoy
The back seats fold flat if you flip up the bottom of the seat!
Great review! I've had one of these for nearly 5 years. It's been a great little car!
Matt doing reviews alone is the best thing that could ever happen. you're the best UA-cam reviewer out there, I hope you have luck in this new project
Thanks. Keep watching
Nice review.. Too bad in Indonesia we don't have the A1.
But we can buy a1 at terminal motor
Ehh mas fitra! Barusan dari video Huracan nya haha..
+StatTrack 7 Yup.. but no aftersales service or warranty guaranteed from the authorized Audi dealer.
+SRiX Halo...hehe.. Thanks for watching
Ehh, mas fitra nonton carwow juga ..
Reviewing a 2018 model... in a video that was posted in 2016... what?
Top tip: better viewing experience with reviews in a single video
thank god Mat did an Audi A1 review! Finally... Thanks man.
Well done! Mat! a video everyday! We were worried that there were no more videos from you! keep it up!
Can you spot the easter egg?????
+carwow You had music from A1 on the pop up screen?
+carwow i think all of the videos should be merged (in other words have the practicality, etc videos all in with the main one)

Can always count on you Matt for the cheeky banter 😏
Can you do a review of some Vauxhalls: viva, Adam, mokka etc please? Love the channel - best on UA-cam by far.
Suggestion, outline the font in black in the pros and cons screen. It's not easy to read on some videos.
Will suggest to editor
Owning one myself I can agree. I have the s line suspension and its absolutely horrid. And not having an armrest is reall annoying as well
I’ve had the 1.0tfsi Auto for 3 years now. Really happy with it
would u recommend for first car??
JΛMΛ yes
@@ShineshRamballi Awesome, much appreciated man
Watching in 2018 and the Audi a1 has changed so why doses it say 2018 should say 2016
To get total flat loading area, try tilt the seat parts behind of front seats. (Like a Ford Focus)
2:03 - does the head rest went up automatically or what :D
Oh how I miss you Mat!
Love the Cosmo off the top, Mat. Though that doesn't sound like a Cosmo point of view ...
I love my A1 Ambition with the Competition Pack and sunroof.
Beautiful car
Hate VWs shabby low res screen between the dails.
Get a color one!
please do the "new" Lada Urban Niva, it would be such a fun review!
Good vid thanks Mat. Where was this filmed? I like that road!
great content yet again. Matt the Don of car reviews
That joke at the beginning is worth the like
Brilliant stuff! Interesting to see the 2018 car!
I want this car on this size with all the modern tech jazz.
i wish they had it in the us
The best review in A1
Can you make a Fiat Tipo 1.3 diesel review??
Finally an Audi. little late Matt but I'll forgive you for a grate review
Why would you need an arm rest Matt? You are meant to have both hands on the steering wheel!
This car really looks its age now.
AND SO DO YOU MATW
Bought an A1 for 9.5k euros here in Italy, that car has 12 years behind hos back

Did you remember to pick the parcel shelf up.👍
How on earth is a 65 plate (end of 2015) the same as the 2018? This isn't the first video where you guys have flat out lied about the year of the car
Am I the only one who like the way they separate the video? So I dont need to spend more time on things I'm not interested to know. Plus, in my opinion watching this video is enough if all you want is quick preview / summary of the car.

Theweescot Wrong. In most cases it is the seat mechanism/construction that prevents it folding flat.

Bit of a womans car and pointless when these go at close to the same price range as the a3.
Doesnt make sense
