- After nearly a year of ownership and 13,000 happy miles covered, I thought it was about time I did a review on my car, the Audi A1 1.4L TFSI S-Line Style Edition (bit of a mouthful I know!)

@@leightonthorpe484 it’ll be like 1.5k to 2k just depending on how many miles you want a year, the modifications, the engine size and the specifications on the insurance

@@minidta776 insurance is about £1.5k to £2k. I’m gonna buy one and this is the average I found. With a black black x your looking at £1.5 min and without your looking closer to £2k

I have the money to get this car when I turn 17 and will have some extra leftover, however I'm unsure weather I could afford the insurance
Insurance isn't too bad as it's only a 1.4L. My advice is to get some quotes and see what it's like

Really good video, really well editted and researched too. You really love that car dont you ahahaha. I like it too, especially what you have done to those wheels, really sets the car off in my opinion. Funniest bit was definately the tailgating bit. Made me giggle ahahaha. Very good video. I had an A1 for about 5 years from new and its been one of the most practical cars I've ever owned. My only gripe with it was fuel consumption. Mine had those rear lights which are much better than the face lift ones currently out.
Had this exact model for a few years now. Driving experience is great, and I'm getting roughly 35-40mpg. Downside is room in the back is terrible and passengers will block your rear view completely but it's an A1 for a reason. Also getting parts can be pretty expensive
I've just traded my older A3 for a new A1 with the sunroof and AMB modification pack, here in Australia.
You made the front look better and the rear look worse imo. Nice car though

How is the fuel economy ?
I'm about to get a RS style grill for mine + wrapping parts + wheel referb in silver or black! I have the 185 bhp 1.4, it's mental for how little the car is but 40-42mpg long run and 25 town One big problem I have is the super sport seats that destroy all rear leg room... love mine!

Let's be realistic, what 17-18 yo wanting their first car will be able to get one of these? Out of their own pocket of course... Not including bank of mummy and daddy.

James Ranson I've worked my arse off since I was 18, 22 now, working my way up the company and only now could I say I could comfortably afford one of these. Not that I would want to though, I love my Fiesta ST-3
xiiBuzzinx we all have a different preference, I’m 18 and I have a Vauxhall Cora 2016 which I paid for my self which to be honest I would want one either.
I bought and paid for my 2014 Corsa SRI 1.4t when i was 18 also! The difference is massive between Vauxhall and Audi though.
Me 😂. I’m 18 and earn £800-900 a month, the only expenses I pay for is £100 rent and £22 phone bill. That leaves me with about £680 left over (minimum) the car and insurance costs about £400 a month all together (as I am getting it on finance) and then fuel around £150. Leaves me with £130-200 left a month. And I have that security of being able to get more hours of work if I wanted too.

It's rubbish. A fiesta is about 1/2 the price and is brilliant to drive. And vastly cheaper to service. My grandma drives an A1 because she thinks it is safe and posh😁
Mark Rozee: Welcome to the world of badge appeal and the like. For every product on the face of the earth there will be a cheaper one that does an effective job. If people didn't care about badge appeal then they would all drive Dacia Sanderos... I'm sure the Audi and the Fiesta are similar NCAP rated; as to posh... Well, I like the Audi, but I don't like the Range Rover Sport. Where does that put grandma on the posh linear scale?? Enjoy your driving whatever you're in.

My daughter is 9, I’ve just bought a 2016 fully loaded sline pan roof, heated seats, main bean assist,18s,etc… put it in a garage and locked the door until her 17th birthday. 👊🏻
Till you find out she doesn’t want to drive and the cars rusted 🤣

Take it down to Rebellion Automotive for their tuning kit! I got their kit on my 1.4L A3 and it's gone from 125BHP to around 165BHP :O

yeah, a tune makes a huge difference. tuned my 1.2 tfsi from 86 to 130hp with just software and it really goes like stink now haha

I think a nice first car, but there’s too sharp an edge of femininity in it for me personally. If i lived in a town where a smaller car provided practicality however i can see the appeal

Meine Frau und ich haben einen Audi A1 als Zweitwagen, einen mit 7-Gang-Automatikgetriebe, und das ist das beste Auto, das wir je hatten. Qualitiy top, performance top, motor top, das Auto ist leise, bewegt sich bei Bedarf flott wie ein niedlicher Welpe, ist aber dank der Sportsitze auch ausgesprochen langstreckentauglich. Man kommt in jeden Parkplatz, und wenn wenn man die Rücksitze umklappt, bringt dieses kleine Ding sogar unsere riesengroßen Taschen mit Gartenabfällen zur Deponie. Im Winter fährt uns der Frontantrieb bequem in jedes Skigebiet. Man kann fast alle Extras eines Oberklasse-Audis auch für den A1 ordern, und so bestätigt sich schon beim unwiderstehlichen Konfigurator einmal mehr das Image des A1, Deutschlands teuerster Kleinwagen zu sein. Das Auto ist super-qualitiy-top, aber halt auch im Preis. Unser A1 hat ohne Mühe die 30.000 € touchiert, und dafür bekäme man schon ein viel größeres Auto, aber wir wollten halt ein kleines Auto, eins für die Fahrt vom Dorf in die Innenstadt, ein Shopping-Car, just for fun, eins für die Ehefrau auf der Fahrt zum Friseur....Das Ergebnis: Ein Ehemann, der diesen Winzling immer wieder vorzieht, das Ding ist einfach zu verführerisch.

James Eyres no it doesn’t you absolute tit. S line is essentially a trim that makes the car look sportier outside and in. It does absolutely nothing to the sound of the car.
Scott GS getting an S-line Audi opens you up to get bigger engines and louder exhausts
Scott GS however the exhausts are similar just louder due to the bigger engine and the fact you get more on the s line
James Eyres having a 1.6 tdi and a 1.6 tdi s line makes absolutely no difference to sound. There is nothing on the s line to make it louder and I’m not even going to argue about it with you because you have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about
Well, am joining the A1 ownership with a 1.4 TFSI Sport (second hand ) low miles. with 125 bhp but no Black accent roof (very very hard to find). May mod it later as it has 16" alloys but will see how it goes. Rock on.

No problem man! Well, since making this video I don’t actually daily drive it anymore, so it’s hard to estimate. It is however about to hit 30k miles

Warning.This is an awful car.Trust me,you WILL be heartbroken if you spend good money on this.So many flaws.Too many to name,but 1 which really says it all is that it is quiter with the windows open!! No soundproofing at all.Terrible suspension,shit infotainment system,guzzles petrol,horn unresponsive,window wipers push all the dirty water right into your field of view.aheater toasts neck upwards whilst rest of body cold.Fiddly and hard to find demisting controls.....I could go on.Trust me......DON'T get this car.And to all you people that will argue differently....you ate lying.

I am picking up my new a1 s line on Thursday, second car but can't wait. It being a first car is not reasonable though cause insurance for me at 19 2 years no claims and 1 6 months driving is like 1200, never mind a new driver. Unless you want a black box and that's boring as fuck

Good choice. What year as the older 1.0TFSI's arent as refined as the 1.2. Btw; you need good enough credit (paying for your own phone bill for example) to finance and also be 18 years old to be eligable or have a guarantor.
