My grandfather and I used to eat cornbread soaked in sweet milk together. He used bacon fat also and it was so good! I wish he was still here to enjoy your spin on it! Thank you Linda for good home cooking and old memories!

I have a Lodge 8" skillet which I use just for Cornbread. It holds a 1/2 recipe perfectly and is not too much for just the wife & me. Thanks for sharing your kitchen with us.

lol that had to be it when I buy right handed stuff it always makes a mess and yes you definitely need to try this recipe and I would actually go out and put it on the Kamado grill

2c all purpose flour
1c cornmeal
1tsp baking soda
1tsp baking powder
1tsp salt
2 eggs
1c buttermilk (add to desired consistency of cake batter)
6 strips bacon
1 small ear corn
1 small red bell pepper
1 jalapeno
1c sharp cheddar cheese
I love cornbread especially with bacon!

Thank you for sharing Linda, I never heard of corn bread, saw a Chinese corn bread that we need to blend the dried corn ourselves. I will try to buy the cornmeal and make it one day.
( Mix together 1 Cup course ground yellow cornmeal, 2 Cups flour of your choice, 1 tesp of baking powder, 1 tesp of baking soda, 1 -2 egg/2 C buttermilk, . Basic recipe of Linda if you wish to copy and paste. )
