I just love how you sing out your words when you talk and say "Sew sew much" all the time! I find it enjoyable. I am getting closer by the day to giving sewing a try, I am building up my confidence by watching all your videos! Thank you!
Yay that’s so nice to hear! And thanks for saying that about how I talk, sometimes when editing my videos I cringe so much so it’s really nice to hear I don’t come across irritating 😂 x
Hi janelle!! Just want to say that ur videos have helped me in my mental health recovery and starting sewing and giving it ago has been such a good experience for me. Hope u had a great break with matt and take care😊🧵
Thank you so much for sharing that Bríd 🧡 It’s so great to hear that sewing has been helping your mental health (it’s a huge help for mine too), and the fact that my videos have been helping you too means so much! Take care and happy sewing xx
Recently found your channel. Love it and your philosophy. I sew for my home, a few skirts and dresses for my granddaughter. I also quilt, I also buy fabric etc from thrift shops, it is such great value ! Thank you for a job well done!
I loved the little tour of the AirBNB! The style of the space was so adorable, cozy and inspiring. I'd love to see more videos like this from your trips :)
This is my favourite type of trip these days visiting smaller towns and their op shops going to the beach and cafes. I agree smaller places often have the best vintage finds. My main op shop focus right now is the fabrics and patterns. Recently I picked up the perfect vintage knitting pattern for the exact kind of cardigan my husband wants. Have a great day Janelle. 🌸
It's so funny to see you buying similar patterns to what I have stored in my shed. Also I think I've donated the twins of those mugs. I'm 72 so I grew up with all the stuff you love. My daughter likes similar things. I have different tastes now.
Those bed sheets are totally your style! I would have put money on you purchasing them 😊 Even just one great find makes a thrift/op/charity shopping trip worthwhile. I found a cotton duvet cover recently out of which I have already made a dress and a skirt, and I still have a bit left over... Bargain of the century! 👍 Enjoy your holiday in your lovely "shack", Janelle!
I found a blouse pattern sooo similar to that one last year in a charity shop (what we call Op shops in Britain) on the way back from a road trip to Devon and I'm hoping to sew it up soon. And today I found an amazing Simplicity sewing book from 1975 for £1; such a gem! It's so fun to see your finds too, thanks for taking us along.
After watching your channel I always advise anyone taking up sewing especially quilting to go to the charity shops for material like bedding, that way it won’t cost them a fortune to get started just incase it’s not their thing 👍👍
Oh that lampshade in the shack bought back childhood memories! I was 9, we just moved in to mums first owned home, we had a small house warming and that very same lampshade was in my bedroom, only it was a pendant with tassels. My cousins and I thought the same a s you once it was turned on and we thought it was brilliant to swing the lamp shade around to watch the shadows dance around the walls of my bedroom..... until we blew the fuse!!!! Then we were in the troubles lol.
Lovely fabric the black and white looks like waffle, they make house coats, dressing gowns with it. Love from England save your videos, for Sunday mornings. Loved that shack. .
Thank you for the blue sky, I am in SE Qld, and we have had torrential rain for 5 days now! The Li'l Blue Shack looks adorable. Thank you for sharing the op shopping, because of the rain we are not driving around, road closures etc. Keep up the great work, love your videos Janelle!
I have been shopping online thrift stores for clothes and have very happy with my purchases. I’m more of a denim woman whether it’s dresses, skirts or pants.
@@RoseryApparel oh thanks, I'll check them out. The bunnings one isn't adjustable and has a weird plastic bit that you're supposed twist and screw motion into the sand but does nothing 🙄 so frustrating and then a gust of wind comes and blows it up and out.. omgosh!!!
My friend has lived in Latrobe plus Burnie now she has retired to Wynyard she took me site seeing round them all, loved my time in Tasmania can’t wait to get back
Oooh the pockets in those skirts! 😍 I'm so into peach and copper lately. It's bizarre because I've been into anything mint or Tiffany blue for the last three years or so.
You guys have SUCH cool thrift shops!! If you know where to look here in the UK you might find the odd vintage curtain or bedsheet but you seem to find such gems! Love watching what you find!
That 'shack' looks adorable! I want to go too! And I agree that smaller towns have better thrift shops, the farther you get from the big city. Less people picking them over I guess.
Aww I am living in the tropics now, but I loved seeing my hometown op shops in this video. You will have to check out some of the secondhand places in Ulverstone next time too :) there is a beautiful antique shop!
Here in Utah we have a local news organization called KSL and they have an awesome classifieds section. Like a local Craigslist, FB marketplace etc. I use it to look for more specific items like mirrors and small tables that can fit in my small car.
Lovely video Janelle. You can't beat a good Aussie beach shack. You'll eventually find the bedside cabinets and you'll be thrilled when you do. Happy hunting!
Aww this was so fun to watch, I would love to see more videos like this! Love all your amazing finds, I feel inspired to book something similar :3 Thank you for sharing, can't wait for your next video!
Great opshopping and purchases, also love retro Air BnB shack where you and Matt stayed at the beach Janelle. I adore the leadlight cabinet. We have one we bought many years ago from an old farm ckearing sale. No idea how old it is, except old. We even found original latches to replace the terrible ones someone had added to "modernise" it. Wish there was some way I could send you a photo. Currently stored in our garage because in the house we bought 4 years ago there is nowhere suitable for it at the moment! 🐾🥰
Country opshops are the best, the ladies who run them rock and everything seems to be fifty cents. You gotta plan your country opshop trips for weekdays tho cos a lot of the time they’re not open weekends or public hols
Awww this reminded me of campervanning in Tasmania last year - Stanley and along the north coast was a highlight and I loved seeing The Nut in your video! I hadn’t begun sewing then, so it’s just another excuse to come back to hit up the op shops! The shack looks incredible 😍
Oh god, that Airbnb was right up your street! The rattan shade looks like my bedroom one. I remember my Mum wearing one of those blouses in the late '70's/early '80's from a company called Bustop (weird how things stick in your mind!) Glad you had a nice break, the beach looked fantastic - no chance of finding a hot beach here in Ireland for months yet 😆
I want everything in that store, theres nothing like that in my country, I have to buy in fabric stores, theres not much to pick from and they are super expensive . p.s. please make a tutorial of that blouse ! thank you for taking us on your trip, looks so pretty in peaceful there
I couldn’t get over how much fabric were in these stores! Definitely very lucky with the op-shops here in Tasmania 😍 And yes, I plan on making the blouse pattern asap! x
Love the op shop finds. 🤩 Also my husband and I love playing Wingspan. 😀 Viticulture is another game by the same company and it's my favourite game of all time. ☺️ You should check it out if you enjoy Wingspan. 🙂
Do it! Tassie is the best 😍 Stanley and Strahan (do the Gordon river day cruise) are some of my favourites. Mona in Hobart is worth checking out and if you love wine then the Tamar valley is a must! x
I haven't seen vintage patterns in thrift stores (haven't really been searching for them though) but I wonder if there are any risks, like are the patterns complete? Are they broken? Missing pieces?
Hi Janelle. Love your videos and adored the beautiful Blue Shack. I have a really pretty dress I found in and op shop. Its really not my style but I fell in love with the pattern. I’d like to send it to you. Do you have a PO Box address or could you privately message me your address so I can send it. It’s hanging in my wardrobe, I look at it everyday, but the style just doesn’t suit me. ☹️. Gail

Brilliant idea to make a list like that! And also to stop by small town shops! I'd never considered what treasures may await away from crowds!
Thank you for an amazing video Janelle. Really enjoyed watching. Remain blessed xxx

Thanks lovely 🧡 I hope the weather starts to settle down up there soon! Stay safe x
As usual I love a good thrift shop video, in this one I particularly liked that we get to see you in action while treasure hunting 😍
So happy you and Matt had a fun beach trip.
Omg you were at the North West Coast?! Haha as a local I’m amazed because no one ever comes here!
I have been shopping online thrift stores for clothes and have very happy with my purchases. I’m more of a denim woman whether it’s dresses, skirts or pants.
Cute video. Loved all your finds.. the pockets on the orange skirt are my favourite!!! I love your beach umbrella too.
Isn’t it cute! With my fair skin I would be constantly sunburnt without it 😂
@@RoseryApparel super cute! I bought one from bunnings but it's so 'meh'.. where did you get yours?
It’s by Business and Pleasure

The air bnb is cute ☺️
Gosh, Tassie looks stunning. I’ve never been, although I live in Melbourne. That’s it, it’s on the bucket list!
It’s the best! Sometimes I wish I didn’t live here just so I could travel and holiday here. It’s the best place to get away 😍
It's at least 20 years since I visited Tassie. I loved every bit of it. I'd love to visit again and maybe one day I will. I'm in Qld.
The first thing I thought when you showed the "kid of gingham" fabric was that it would be a cute turtleneck! Would look so nice with your dresses! 😍😍
I’m excited to give it a try! 😍
That 'shack' looks adorable! I want to go too! And I agree that smaller towns have better thrift shops, the farther you get from the big city. Less people picking them over I guess.
So many things to see in the store, since I’ve been seeing your video. I’ve been sewing Little things. Thank you so much for your tips💕👏🏼
What a wonderful trip for you and the music is so enchanting!

Looked like a fun trip!! Good buys and your place was quite charming!!! Did you get another chance to enjoy the beach? It was beautiful!

Lovely video as usual. On a slightly different note, I noticed you have Wingspan! Have you got the Australian expansion?
Thanks 🧡 No I haven’t yet, but I want it!
The City Mission and Salvos are the best Op Shops in Burnie in my opinion but I find the prices are getting a little high.
How did you do that with your phone? I would love to make visual lists!

Hello Darling how are you. Could you please write me the name of the sewing machine, please?
