I almost had tears rolling down my cheeks watching Dweezel go down the road. What an amazing accomplishment and milestone, we’re all proud of you!
Aw schucks, thanks Gary. I gotta admit it was a big moment for me. Thanks as always for the support!
I know what you mean Gary
Cannot express how much I appreciate watching you work! A true craftsman! There is no such thing as "attention to detail" simply attention to your work even in the details.
Thanks Michael! Some of the most fascinating parts of these vehicles are in the details. Wouldn't miss it! Thanks as always for the support
This project has been 21 yrs in the making? What an amazing feat and regardless of anyone else or any other reasons....You should be proud....The video is well done. The story is great and as always, cameo by Tig makes it all worthwhile for all of us on the other side of the glass. I'm looking forward to the next episode.....Nice to see you are "driven"....see what I did there.... :)
Thanks Ken! Actually... 27 years and counting. Seems crazy (and probably is). And yes, couldn't resist a Tig cameo!
She sounds fantastic! Thanks for bringing us along with your awesome project, it's been quite a journey!
Thanks flatfourluka, the buggy exhaust makes a neat sound and once it's warmed up it actually idles smooth. This old stuff is so much fun! Thanks for being here for all of this, more on the way!
This is so amazing to see all the hard work you’ve put into this car. You saved this car and now it is a fully functional driving car. Very inspirational to me as I am on the same journey and working towards the same goal
That's awesome Zimm, keep at it and you'll get there. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
Oh yeah, WCM for the rubber! Theirs is soft and helps to prevent breakage! That’s funny, I said a #4 Phillips to somebody a while back, and they looked at me odd.. 😁
I’ve also put the striker on the wrong side before 😂
That was a fun ride along!! Thank you for taking me along!!
Thanks Slade, glad to have you with us. Funny thing about that striker- I labeled them when I took them off. Apparently was confused about what "right" and "left" mean. Thanks popping in!
Good to see it running again 👍👍
Thanks Mike, sorry to make everyone wait so long to see but we're getting it done! Great to hear from you again.
Woo Hooo! I love it!
Me too! Thanks a080867!
Hi Brent, Great to see you well again👍🏻 has been a long time since the last update🇺🇸, Wow the Dweezil has come very great and well together she looks great 💥I loved to see that test drive thanks so much for sharing this Epic🌞. you accomplished a lot of work and dedication into Dweezil for mentioning the Electric wiring sublime👏🏻. I looking forwards to the next EP🎥. Take care and stay safe and healthy my friend🙏🏻☮🍀⚓🇳🇴. Greetings Hubertus.
Hey Hubertus! You're always so kind and supportive, thanks for always be here. I hope the T3 is progressing well and things are warming up a bit in your part of the world. Great to hear from you again!
Awesome!
I remember the video when you drove it around the yard for the last time before you took it apart!
Congratulations.
Thanks Vintage Speed VW, that was a long time ago- thanks for being here for all of it. More to come!
Great video, I love the way you edited it. Glad you finally got it driving around! Cannot wait to see it in person. You did a fantastic job on the car.
Thanks Levi, looking forward to seeing you and your Pops in a couple weeks!
Nice to see the video after we saw you on the beach driving it. Congratulations and look forward to seeing further progress on the build.
Thanks Scott, it was great meeting you! We have more to share, including a certain goal about driving to the coast... Great to hear from you again!
Those amber running lights are wicked.
Thanks Greg, old cars have neat stuff. Simple and cool.
Just some advise when aligning doors. Always leave the door striker off when aligning the doors. Once the doors fit the body, then add the striker to set the latching of the doors. The latch and striker shouldn’t be used to help align the doors when closed.
Thanks Robert, this makes sense. I bet the driver's door is a little tweaked with the way I have it mounted right now. I'll put readjustment on the list.
Cannot wait!
Thanks Gemmell, kinda looking forward to it myself. Glad you'll be here for it!
Outstanding!!! All that hard work is paying off. Thanks for keeping us posted.
Thanks John, paying off and totally worth it! Happy to share the fun, apologies for taking so long.
Yes sir; West Coast Metric is the shit! BTW, OK Fixer, a UA-camr who has restored a couple of Bugs and who’s a glazer by trade uses black butyl sealant between the seal and the body of the car, to give an added layer of protection.
Yeah, I'll be giving them a call about some other seals I need. Thanks for the tip- sounds like something that is best done during install but I'll remember that for future use. Seems like if it was tastefully done it couldn't hurt.
There is no reason to add sealant in those glass seals. VW didn’t and I’ve installed many and no leaks. If you have to do that to keep it from leaking. Replace the seals they are garbage.
@@robertlambert5299 Actually some of them did; how do you think the parcel area rusts in Bugs?
@@vayabroder729 if they had sealant in them someone added it later. I worked at a VW dealer in the collision shop when these cars were still being produced.
They rusted out because the seals were rotted.
That's awesome I love the Ride alongs
Thanks Eduardo, looking forward to sharing more of these!
@@HapticGarage please call me Ed. And make sure you take your puppy along I miss my black lab
Good to see the progress Haptic, great videos on this channel
Thanks OTTO, great to have you here with us. More to come!
Love the paint scheme...looks and sounds great
Thanks Cathy and Greg!
Great to see your beetle go for a spin. The engine sounds healthy.
Thanks Andy, test drives are always a big moment and this one didn't disappoint. Glad you were able to join us on the road!
@@HapticGarage Always fun to watch your progress now and then. Thanks
great stuff!
Thanks Vdub 6.1.8!
I just stumbled on your channel. Subscribed!! Now I’m going to binge watch all your videos and not sleep till very late
Thanks Smokey Bear, it's great to have you with us. I hope you were able to get some sleep!
It lives!❤
Indeed! Thanks for watching Nutt Farm Garage!
Nice work sir !! Good job on the doors and glad your back !! Hopefully more vids to come cheers
Thanks and more on the way vwcoco, always great to hear from one of my friends in the UK!
I am envious. I haven't touched my Oval project for 3 years. Congratulations on the shakedown run.
Thanks Thomas, but no envy necessary- an Oval is an amazing project and it is patiently waiting for when you can resume progress. Keep us updated!
@@HapticGarage I am concentrating on getting my old truck bsck on the road then maybe the Oval will get some love.
Yup, focusing on one at a time is a great way to get it done. Good luck on the truck- what is it?
1950 Ford F1
I checked. I only have one #4 screwdriver, and I knew right where it was...next to the 10mm.
Whoa, that's legendary organization from where it sit. Good on ya!
👏👏
Thanks Ross!
Fantastic job in getting Dweezil a driver again, we’ll done. Are you putting cut down fenders on the rear? I wasn’t sure what the rear lighting looks like. Anyway, you’ve built a very solid and strong bug, which I hope gives you years of fun and satisfaction. Can’t wait to see the continuing story and thanks for a really great video.
Thanks Richard! There is a slightly earlier "pope's nose" decklid fitted to hold the license plate and I am temporarily using trailer lights in the rear. I plan to widen a set of stock rear fenders and fit them with stock tail lights. The project is beyond my skill level but that's how we learn new things! I look forward to making these changes after a few higher priorities are completed. Thanks again for the question and kind remarks, always great to hear from you.
👍
Thanks Vintage 76!
Hope to see you at NoDough show also!
You bet! We'll be doing a livestream several of your favorite UA-camrs, feel free to say Hi at any time!
@@HapticGarage who are you doing the live stream with?
@@robertlambert5299 @VWJawbreaker , @RobStapleton , @SladesVWBeetle , @CT ... and more!
I just subbed yesterday and a little late to the game. Good to see this and your progress. My '66 Bug's name is Franky. Why did you name your Bug Dweezil? I'm guessing I know.
It's great to have you with us Oldbugssy! Dweezil's name was a suggestion by a friend in college. I had never heard the name before but it really fit and the name stuck. The only other iteration I've seen of that name belongs to the musician Dweezil Zappa (no connection).
I really like the look of this car. The wheels and tires. the stance and the colors. but Are you not installing rear fenders? is that part of your look?
Thanks Darrin, it's rough around the edges but I'm having fun with it. Rear fenders are on the list! This look works well enough for now, but I think some widened stock fenders will suit me better on several levels.
