20 years I've struggled with putting. Your video about putting helped me so much bud. The thumb point and the step back warmups were everything I needed to fix it (for the most part) lol. Thanks bud!
I'm happy that I found this out myself at the beginning of the summer. I'm mad that I fell in love with the progress and my new cool looking putt and the compliments my friends gave me for good efforts even though fewer and fewer went in. I'm happy for this video to help me get to back to the basics again!
Paul we met and play dubs at monkey Island with eric paige devon maybe 1 or 2 more back in about 2011. I just want to say I am happy you grew into such a good ambassador for the sport 👏
Uli you know I was coming straight to the comment section. Your down the fairway series is top tier! I’m so glad you’re back doing this! If there were two like buttons, I would click em both.
I am that 2 - 3 year player with those very same voices in my head. I have spent the past two weeks in the backyard with no tournament or league play. Just pounding these discs. The "release point" has been elusive, as lower back and SI nerve create some barriers. I have learned, and I am learning to compensate by figuring out my aim point which is rather higher than I expected. Based on your previous video that I had watched, I started the process of trying to find that elusive release/aim point. I am finding it more consistently. Still a work in progress.
Thanks for this short helpful video! I’ve been missing so many 15-20 foot putts lately. No problems in the yard, but come tournament play….ugh. So it might be nerves. But I’m really going to try to notice where my release point is. I never even gave it a thought.
Short distance practice is key. It takes "discipline" to stay short until your personal form is honed. And then keep doing only short distance practice until you believe in your putt.
You need both. I tried focusing heavily on short putts for a few months and my percentages from 30-45ft fell like a rock cause I got too used to putting soft and not generating the power I needed on longer putts.
I like to start my putting sessions short, build the confidence of going 20 for 20 from 15ft, then slowly work out to 25 before jumping up to 35 and staying there until I make 6 in a row. Then I finish with another 30-40 putts inside of 20. It’s important to develop your “can’t miss range” as solid as iron, but you still need to have a feel for how much power is needed when you stretch out to circles edge or c2.
Easy fix - if you're putting left hand, kick the right back foot up and out left a bit - counter balancing your left arm that now CAN'T over rotate to the left, so it'll stay in line with the pole. Paul McBeth does this on his putt. I noticed it years ago and it's an amazing little trick.
I had such a stabby putt for the longest time. Finally a light bulb turned on and I slowed it way down. Started making more putts. Still suck, but not as much.
All fine and dandy tips for beginners, but what if I'm a multi-seasoned FPO player and I can't make anything for certain outside of 5 feet and even those I don't feel confident in? Also 3:34 Too*
I’d really like a windy putting tips video. I am absolute GARBAGE in high wind, to the point where it usually ruins my form for when it gets calm (cause my normal putt just doesn’t work when it’s windy so I have to change it).
Could be if you sign up for the Academy. Also it takes time to make these videos, and that’s the best way to support my channel as the clip indicated. Those adds are now in every single video I have. Short or long.
Info was stated. It wasn’t meant to be meticulously in depth. Simple, quick, easy reminder. Slow down, be consistent, put ego aside. Digestible. Poor comment dog.
there is no shortcut to this, only practise how you want and stick to your plan, start close and move backward, even 3 meter practise not as much tho, 2 hours at 3 meter 🤣
Practice what? Practicing can be one of the things that costs you years of forming bad habits. Practice the release point. Will save you countless hours of aimless practice.

The golden rule of leaving your hand facing the basket at the end continues to help me

Been benefiting greatly from your video from last month. It’s cool to see past Paul help present Paul out.

I'll take all the help I can get! Thanks Paul. Best wishes and good health to you and your new family! I'm stoked for you
Thanks for the tips! Glad to see another one of these--keep 'em coming!

Nate Doss won world championships with a wobbly putt. As long as it goes in.

Love ya Uli! Thank you for the free lesson!
Thanks Paul.
Thanks for the great video and content. Currently in somewhat of a putting dilemma. This might help.

Needed to hear this after 5 putting an elevated hole yesterday because my "Simon Lizotte wanna be" spin putt doesn't have a consistent release...
Oof, did anyone see that 5 putt
@@George-nx4bpHaha only good company. But if I were terribly embarrassed I wouldn't mention it online :)
def like that youre one of the few putters left whos putts can go in any basket bc you dont rip them in there void of touch
Hey Paul I'm going to Norway soon and plan on doing some drinking. Could you make a video giving MMA fighting tips for drunk bar fights?
Thanks!
Haha. Keep your head down and run!!!
always good to see the best teacher in the game
Yes, the acceleration is to be focused on the lastest part of the throw
Congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of your daughter hope you heal up quick and see ya back soon 🎉🎉🎉🎉👍
Sometimes I miss the toilet when I go pee. I’m standing right on top of it.

So if the release point stays the same, I’m guessing you’re using various speeds to achieve longer putts. Is this correct
Speeds and heights.
If you practice “slow lobby” then speed it up, won’t the release point change?
Gradually speed it up. Once you can control one speed, then try just a tiny bit faster, then faster then faster
Putt for 💰
What does this Paul guy know about disc golf anyways??
Ikr! 93.33% C1X is just not gonna cut it!
thumbnail La Mirada??
Click bait on point with that lami pic.
Click bait?
@@PaulUlibarri just trolling, I was excited to watch you play there.
Helpful video. What wasn't so helpful was having 2 of the last 4 minutes of that video all be ads...

Power disc golf academy has so many more helpful videos like this. You won’t regret it.
Thank god for ad block and enough brain power to skip through embedded ones so I don't have to complain. Am I right?
