It looks like I can make this recipe gluten free and it won't get farkled up. Thanks too, for showing your beautiful kitty and the glorious island. I've always joked if I ever get to Scotland it would so hard to leave. I'd be a blubbering mess crying because I couldn't stay. Love your channel and thanks for all the wonderful recipes!
I found your channel 3 days ago, i am now hooked. I am English and my hubby is Scots. We live in Holland and were looking for a square sausage recipe. " Thank you so much" I made mine last night. It turned out great. I even found a rusk recipe.I love your video's and your accent. Its great to now be able to make more Scots food...❤❤❤❤
I always have apples on hand. And yesterday when I was grocery shopping, I bought a can of condensed milk and a can of dulce de leche. I had no idea what I was going to do with them, but I bought them because they were from a new local Canadian company, and I wanted to support them. How fortuitous that you should upload this recipe today!! 😁😁 I can hardly wait to get this going in my Crock-Pot!! I'm just imagining the wonderful smells that will be wafting through the apartment. 😋😋
Definitely making crumble tomorrow, I’m going to put it on low as I’m out all day. Cant wait for the smell that will hit me when I come home from work. Thank you 😊
I did this twice... last week and again today. Last week I made it using the suggested tea towel tip, but this was unfortunately a bit of a disaster...as the crumble went all soggy, a bit like porridge. I think what happened was the tea towel absorbed moisture up to a point in the cooking process but then became saturated so could not absorrb more moisture but was also still blocked the steam vent hole expelling any more moisture directly. I salvaged the apple and caramel mixture by making delicious filled doughnuts. I also made this crumble again today with exactly the same ingredients as last week, but with the tea towel over the lid only for the first hour, and it worked an absolute treat this time. Thanks 👍
Awesome. Will def. be trying this. Easy peasy. Tku for all ur recipes. Luv, luv listening to u n watching what ur going to make. ur a very special lady. God bless u n ur family n many many tks. 💖😘
Defo making this. Especially after cracking the slow cooker out the other week after getting inspired by one of your slow cooked sausages video and making a couple of other meals in it since.
Aaaaawwwwww Cheryl, this is perfect timing as we’re having my inlaws over this Saturday and my plan was to make applecrumble for desert. Def going to give this a go! Thank you 💕
I love this! Set it to cook, go about your day, cook dinner then have a yummy dessert. Awesome! I have an apple corer, if I am slicing one apple it doesn’t really seem to make it a lot faster, but making a pie or anything with a bunch it truly is faster.
I live in a fruit growing area and the apples are in season. This one is going onto my to do list for sure. We have a cooker like yours so the preparation will be a snap. Thanks for posting this one. Cheers Cheryl!
Hello I'm Kay, from San Antonio, Texas USA, and I just found your channel, where have I been..i love soups and slow cooker cooking..this looks delicious!
Ooohhh my!!! That apple crumble looks delicious!! I need some this very minute...with vanilla bean ice cream melting down the side! I'll be heading to the grocery store first thing tomorrow to pick up some apples. Thank you Cheryl! Blessings and hugs. ☺
Hello from America sweet Cheryl. I wonder if you have any recipes in which you can use pears? Best wishes to you and thank you so much for all your hard work. These recipes are a lifesaver for me. MM
Looks amazing. I suppose you could do the apples in the slow cooker and then transfer to an oven dish and finish the crumble off in the oven for a crunchy topping?
I have never seen the Carnation canned caramel in the states. Looks yummy. I wish we had that. I wonder if dipping caramel that they sell in the stores over here would work for this? Must give this a try! Thank Cheryl for the inspiration.
Apples have always gone well with caramel but I've never thought of it for a crumble. I'll be trying this one awfy soon Cheryl. I love how you poured half of the caramel on top, rather than all in the apples.👌👍 Would that work on an oven crumble, or would the caramel burn?
Hi Cheryl! I love your channel and you have encouraged me to use my slow cooker after it lying for 3 years in my cupboard!!! A wee question. The caramel crumble looks fab but I wondered if I can freeze it? Take care, stay safe xx
Love your channel and your recipes. But the slow cooker wouldn't work for me with this recipe - I would miss the contrast a oven bake provides - soft, tender and buttery apples with a crunchy crumble topping - hard to beat. Thanks for the prompt I will make in the oven 👍
Ahhh mine is in the slow cooker as I speak, I totally forgot to mix the apples with the 4 tbs of caramel, sooo my 4 tbs is on the bottom just like that, hopefully it will still be great. To late to mix it now. 😭
Looks absolutely brilliant. Can I ask, if I made this with bananas would it work out the same? Or would you recommend any variance in technique or cooking time? Are there any other fruits that you would consider using? My Nan used to make a pretty yummy rhubarb and apple crumble
Hi Dael :) Thanks for watching! I'm not so sure about the bananas...I think they may just end up a pile pile of mush :D But certainly something like peaches or pears would work I think x
@@WhatsForTea Thanks for replying Cheryl. I thought the same. Bananas generally go to mush really quickly. But I really love the flavour enhancement of cooking them. Cheers. x's back atcha
Once on the lips forever on the hips 🤫 I did not know that Nestle Carnation done caramel 🤗 Happy days.Granny Smith not tart enough for me. Till Sunday.
I love my slo cooker, but have never made a pudding in it, apart from rice pudding. Do you recommend always putting a clean tea towel on before placing the lid please? When I make a stew, I always notice that the condensation must drop into the gravy all the time! Thanks

The tea towel tip is a great idea. I may try that with other dishes.
I can almost smell those apples and cinnamon.....mmmm yum. Thanks for sharing your recipe. Have a Blessed day.

Thanks Cheryl, perfect recipe for this weather we're having 👍
Never thought of using my slow cooker for this! With fall here, it's apple everything, and I love it!
Definitely making crumble tomorrow, I’m going to put it on low as I’m out all day. Cant wait for the smell that will hit me when I come home from work. Thank you 😊

Oh yum! I’d add more cinnamon, but I really like cinnamon and always think there’s never enough, lol.
That tea towel trick is genius! The steam always gets stuck on the lid and gets back to my food as water--not good!
Holy smokes! That looks delicious. May I please have a large portion with a scoop of vanilla ice cream? Thank you very much… LOL
Love this stuff, but wish I could figure out a no sugar version.
Yumm, yumm, yumm. From NZ.
Oh my goodness, this looks amazing! 😍 But I'm on a diet!!!! 😂😂😂😂
Me too! :D x
You’ve got quite the sense of humor, cutting the apples...’this took me about two weeks to do’. 😏 Looks tasty Cheryl. 😋 Have a great weekend.
I don't have much of a sweet tooth but that looks amazing!! xx
Can you freeze it at all?
Love your channel and your recipes. But the slow cooker wouldn't work for me with this recipe - I would miss the contrast a oven bake provides - soft, tender and buttery apples with a crunchy crumble topping - hard to beat. Thanks for the prompt I will make in the oven 👍
Oh my! This looks amazing! Would it be proper to put this recipe at the top of my comfort food list :-) :-) Thumbs up! xx
Ahhh mine is in the slow cooker as I speak, I totally forgot to mix the apples with the 4 tbs of caramel, sooo my 4 tbs is on the bottom just like that, hopefully it will still be great. To late to mix it now. 😭
Would it work with rhubarb and strawberries?
Yum😋
Great ! Now I know what I’m going to do with 15 of my apples.....if only I knew what to do with the other 3 million 🍏🍏🍏🤥🤣🤣🤣🤣
LOL :D x
200, 000 apple crumbles, of course
MrTryxxter 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Anyone who cooks recognises that scar on the back of your right hand lol
Oh I know lol :D I'm always burning myself lol :D x
