Words cannot express how grateful I am for each and every one of you who took the time to watch my silly video. I am beyond thankful!!! Edit: Since you guys liked this , i am already working on my second side quest and i think it will be 🔥
Makes it an awesome starting point for other projects. Just imagine a small battery, the tiny screen and the keyboard he used jammed into a portable device... Battery runtime would be atrocious, but still.
I had a 12” MacBook that *miraculously* had a fully functional keyboard and screen for the entire duration of my ownership - this was such an awesome project to see! Thanks for sharing!
As a CRPG geek, happy to see you complete your sidequest (never leave a sidequest unfinished 😅😁 )!!! An idea to attach the jar to the base without tape... a bunch of tiny magnets? glue them to the rim of the jar, and the opposite ones on the base, that will raise the jar up, but that would actually give you space to straighten up the board when sitting inside, and provide more openings for ventilation, with the bonus of providing accessibility to the interior also.
Thats really cool suggestion, but got no magnets . Guess i will have to find some as what you said makes perfect sense. Maybe i will need to modify the base totally for better looks lol
Great job man. Was thinking about doing something similar with one of my old logic boards. If you'd fill the jar with liquid parafine you could drop the air cooling. 😉
@@marcinnowak5329 thank you ! And also interesting suggestion, i might have to look into this. At the beginning i had the idea of making tiny water cooler but i wasn’t sure if i can do it .
@BalkansWay I remember seeing someone building a PC in an aquarium filled with liquid parafine. And man, that had to weight a tonne haha. BTW, Bugatti uses this method to cool their high performance Li-ion batteries too. 😉 Thqnk you for your response, I'm happy I could help.

I've got a 2017 Macbook 12 inch with a dodgy screen and sticker-stained case. I've been considering removing the board and putting it in my G4 Cube case/chassis, as the Cube itself is dead. I'm trying to figure out how to bypass the throttling that occurs when there's no battery present first, though. EDIT: Opencore Legacy Patcher has an option to disable throttling! I'd just have to install Monterey and above using it, although it will natively run up to Ventura.
Man G4 is amazing for this , you are lucky to have one . The throttling can be “fixed” with a patch just google it for a guide. Or you can just run windows and not have that issue at all
@@BalkansWay I figured out how to fix the throttling and edited my original post to reflect that. I'm going to do it! There is so much room in the Cube chassis without the DVD drive inside that I could put a dongle and a small USB-powered external drive within. I'm going to power an LED to light up the power "switch" on top while the board is running, and build or add some sort of switch between the power supply and the board to power it externally without having to plug/unplug all of the time. I'll see if I can add a fan as well. Time to plan. Thanks for the impetus for this project (your video) 👍

tbh maybe you should try and buy a 3d printer. The bambu a1 (or a1 mini) should be enough and a little skill in cad and you can design everything as it should be without glue
It’s like part of my brain saying NOPE when it comes to 3D printing . It’s not that i didn’t try , just im really bad with that .But im sure the end results will be much better than this glue/tape monster
Don`t be too harsh to you. It looked good and worked. I really suck at electronics. And you never get such a nice wood finish with wood PLA.
