If you have an armour stand with frost walker boots, it will re-place the ice when you re-log, so you can make a stasis chamber that takes you back when you re-log.
In a multiplayer server you might be able to use cats as they apparently stand up when you re-log, and have a different hitbox in that state.

if you used redstone lamps and a lot of repeaters and some logic gates, along with dispensers with anything that deals damage, you could make a rhythm game where each lamp is below a head, and your inventory is cleared and your given a new set of items after each "beat", with only one item being the one with the death protection, and then when the redstone lamps light up, only one would light up, and that one would let you know which item has death protection, giving you a set amount of time to switch to the correct item. to make it harder, you could decrease the time between the lamp lighting up and the player being damaged.

@@CausingChaos. that is true. I might need to do some redstone, and make some rhythm games. I could probably make one that allows people to make their own rhythms, instead of just having a rhythm built in via repeater lines.
if I used 10 unique items, and a hopper minecart, rails, and a detector rail with a set of hoppers and comparators, I could make a system where the minecart picks up an item, and distributes it to the hoppers, and each hopper is setup to only accept one item, with the first nine corresponding to the lamps, and the last one just prevents the command blocks from going off, and from the damaging effect being applied, with the detector rail essentially being the "trigger" that allows the hopper that took an item to release exactly one item to the hopper below it(basically resetting the system to the original configuration), and for the lamp corresponding to that hopper to light up.

Years ago when i first learned of stasis chambers i though they would be great for me since by attaching a binary counter to a daylight sensor i could have them teleport me back to my base after a set number of in game days, so that i could just throw myself into the wild or a deep cave without worry, only to be disapointed as the chunks needed to be loaded.
But NOW!, i finally have a use for stasis chambers, and i am looking forward to throw myself as far away from my base without worry

In single player you can put an armour stand with frost walker boots next to the chamber, and then when you relog it'll trigger it. (I got this from a camman short)
Use it for a supermassive AFK farm that uses autocrafters to make everything and fill up a whole chunk full of containers for just each item. You no longer need to be anywhere near the chunk or have a very large render distance in order to keep it all loaded.
@@thecorndealer4122 not that hard, a stasis chamber is basically a few blocks of water source with soulsand at the bottom, you throw an enderpearl inside and it'll float forever, then you can move the soulsand or close a trapdoor on the top water source and the enderpearl will hit something and teleport you
the one he tried making is basically that but attatched to a daylight sensor, so you can make a simple counter for it's activations and when the counter reaches the desired number (let's say 2 days) it'll close the trapdoor or move the soulsand and make you teleport there

Exactly! Or another concept! If you only wanted to leave your base in the day, then make a stasis chamber and invert a daylight sensor and put that as your clock, so when it turns to night time, it closes and you are back home before any mobs come out!! 🫡
you could do this in earlier versions too, but it should be easier now that you don't need to make a chunkloader
Make it a night time sensor and have the Redstone line be 15 blocks to activate it and you could potentially keep sleeping until you finally want to come back, this'll give you as many days as you want and then you just don't sleep the night you want to return.
Quite a few options for activating this, look into "catporters" for the most high effort to build but easiest to activate. Best used on servers though so the daylight sensor and bed combo might be better for you. Plenty of designs if you go looking

If ender pearls now load chunks, a long range ender pearl launcher like that old 1.12.2 one could potentially be just made with no chunk loading required. I hope we see something like that happen again, as the considerably reduced infrastructure by not requiring constant chunk loading would make enderpearls one of the best transport methods in a late-game world.
That won't work, since tnt propelling works on lazy chunks. Untill redstoners work out breeze propelled version.

@@usernametaken017 to properly charge acceleration through tnt, the pearl in this case must be in lazy chunks. Around loaded chunks there is always a border 1 chunk thick, that is partially being processed. Due to that partial processing, pearl stays in place while getting accelerated and gets released upon loading that chunk. Of course if pearl loads the chunk itself, everything breaks. Only way to solve that problem is to get all that acceleration from a single explosion. Since you have limited time to handle tnt, it's hard to deliver it precisely and in required quantity. That's where breeze come into play, becouse you don't have time limit and it's only matter of alignment.

Now I REALLY need a mod that lets you launch ender pearls super far with a handheld canon. And MAYBE even a block that lets you input a coordinate within range, then throw an ender pearl into the air right above that block, and then it launches the ender pearl to wherever it needs to go!!!
I wonder if I could learn how to mod… Launching it farther with a handheld canon sounds like it could be pretty easy, but some sort of targeting system sounds WAY more difficult…
nope, they were relatively simple, you just used a portal loader, the most complicated thing was lining them up properly.
not exactly what you asked for, but you could do both of these things using the hexcasting mod
I wouldn't say crazy complicated, they just tossed an item/minecart/boat back and forth between the nether and overworld. the mechanics on how to do this 100% consistently was the hard part, but recent designs are really small
ender pearls also already can be accelerated with slime blocks and tnt, which is arguably more fun to design than just using a handheld cannon

This is a tricky thing for speedrunners, but keep in mind most runs on any category don't go above 1.16.1, so not as annoying as you may think.
This is just another reason 16.1 will continue to be the main version that people try to optimize.
I know pretty much nothing about Minecraft speedruns. What part of this is bad for them?
@@mustacheman529 When a speedrunner wants to get somewhere later in a run, usually in the nether, they throw a pearl into unloaded chunks. The pearl gets frozen mid-air. Then, whenever they want, they can increase their render distance and instantly teleport to where that pearl is. (This is called a “pearl hang”)
For example, if the runner gets to a nether fortress, they can hang a pearl near the exit, and get all the blaze rods they need. After they’re done getting blaze rods, they increase their render distance and instantly teleport no matter where they are in the fortress.
This update removes the ability to store pearls in unloaded chunks, as pearls now separately act as chunk-loaders.
