Гайки и болты надо было сохранить, точно такие тиски реставрировал, гайка там на 27 болт 24, я бы советовал вам пользоваться головками или накидными ключами, винт и рукоятку омеднить, а так в целом хорошо получилось!

Awesome restoration. Nice color choice and I really like the little bits you made shine. Wow free hand grinding on the vise jaws looks great. Well done sir well done.

"Elegant" is the perfect description, I could do with a smaller leg vice like that for my fabrication table. They are very rare here in the U.K. and we only seem to have the full size blacksmith vices.
A really nice restoration, well cleaned and tidied up but no character lost - exactly as it should be. A great video and you have a new subscriber.

Güzel bir çalışma oldu dostum, tebrikler. Biraz daha açık bir renk ile boyama yapsaydın daha güzel olurdu diye düşünüyorum.

Such a vice was often found in the collective farm forge a hundred years ago. How did you get them?
    Nuts somewhat violate the style.
The lower part also needs to be fixed, a collar to a column.
Good job, thanks for keeping the story.

i liked parts of your video on this leg vise restoration and other parts I did not. You put checkering in the vise jaws.......not what I would want or any blacksmith on a leg vise but if you use it as a bench vise then no worries. I noticed you used a lock type washer on the area where the vise jaw (dynamic jaw) pivots. That will create some wear which yu don't want, instead a flat washer might be a better choice. Don't get too offended by my comments as I really did enjoy your video, heck I critique my own videos worse and frankly I don't do as well as you do. Keep it up!

How would you rate my Leg Vise ?

I give you a 9/10. I would have given you a 10/10 if you used a spanner on the nuts.
Good job though. Thanks and I subscribed and liked. You impressed me.

Dude, please invest in a set of wrenches or a socket set.
I cringed very time you used those pliers on a nut.
Also FYI: You need to pre-heat cast iron if you're going to weld it. It will crack if you don't.

Why do people use WD40 to help loosen nuts and bolts ? Don't they know there are way better products then that to do the job ?
If you notice at the very being it's used when the nut is removed there is no penetration of the liquid. And yes you should wait to give it some time to do its job also.
Project Farm did a test on these types of products.
