Yes you do. But if non natives wear clothing with native patterns or designs it’s considered offensive. I’m from Ireland but I’m living in Albuquerque for almost 10 yrs. about 6 yrs ago I had stepped into Costco and I had a top with a Aztec pattern on its front. I was stopped in Costco by an old Native man and he had a right go at me for wearing the top. Never worn it again and I’ll not purchase any clothing with Native American designs, patterns, even though they are beautiful and would like to wear some. I love Bethany Yellowtails clothing, her stuff is gorgeous, but nope, not for me because I’d hate for something like that to happen again. My husband is Dinè and he’s given me a necklace with a turquoise stone, I don’t wear it cause I don’t want to offended anyone. But yes, there is a lot of beautiful stuff out there.

We (as Native's) always talk about how people are taking our ideas and patterns and making money for themselves and getting the credit for what we have done. So, what would you call it if you are taking someone else's pattern and adding bead work to it? I love your style and I'm just asking.
I cant find any prices on her website but on facebook i clicked shop now and the (currently sold out) vans are listed as 400$ im not sure if this is legit... I cant imagine many can afford that
