Such amazing and beautiful work. That elk and those sneakers were just gorgeous. Parts of the geometric designs seem so familiar to the beadwork of Sindh, Pakistan, where I was born. Sindhis also make intricate geometric designs from precious, semi-precious and glass beads. Beaded jewellery of different kinds is very popular in all of the Indian subcontinent.
I met your mom and dad in the 1970s I think in Montana....then I met up with her in Santa Fe at Mark Winters near the old Bull Ring.....I love her.....she is/was a great woman.......you are fortunate to have learned from her.......God Bless.....

I'm honestly a little jealous. Growing up in an environment like her sounds so unreal. I know it exist, it is just so different from the environment I grew up in.

Teri your work is amazing! I am a professional retired soldier and have just in the past 5 years started to reproduce Sioux War Shirts and the Crow. You are what I consider a Master at what you create. I unfortunately started this FANTASTIC hobby when I turned 60. I copy museum works, and I wish to eventually create some designs of my own.
I know this takes many years to learn,but have always loved moccasins, and the bead work , moccasins are always my foot where of choice,I would really like to be taught how to do this ,I have the patience and time,but trying to find a teacher within my area my be Abit hard , thanks so kindly for sharing the video
This is an amazing video and education. I am 25% Maidu from California and my grandparents grew up in a Rancheria which they were forced into off the land and their reservation. Although we continue to get recognized but he govt, there is a large wall in the National Museum of the American Indian in DC for our tribe. We all spent time annual at the Stanford Pow Wows. So... these are just some items for you to take me seriously. In any case, I think your beed work is amazing and I am going to share this with Converse and push them to see the story. 💕
I think I've watched your video about 3 times now...your a great speaker & inspiration for women (& men)...I've just started to bead again....do you or have you done any tutorials? I have tried beading myself, it's just hard to communicate vocally what I am doing since there is no word for beading in German (my native language) :( but the beads I use are actually called indian beads

The depth of feeling you were able to transport when you talked about the 'lost language' of old pieces of beadwork really got to me!
