Thank you for all your teachings you put on this channel! It is a great help and inspiration!
Thank you so much for providing these videos Antonis - not only are they extremely helpful for learning and improving painting techniques, but you also seem to be a very lovely, sweet and humble person. It's always a joy to listen to your narration and watch you paint. Much love to you!
So beautiful and graceful - the colors and details of the feathers are just exquisite. It's nice to get these mini-lessons, how to paint a wing, or a hand, etc, in detail. We learn something new each time we watch you paint. I always look forward to these lessons! Thank you!
Thank you Katherine!
Thank you, Antonis! This really helps to explain this difficult part of icon painting. Thanks also for making the effort to teach in English. This kind of instruction is really hard to come by in our language and it's deeply appreciated.

Thank you for the tutorial, but interested to know how would you paint the other side of the wing as I am a right handed?
Cristo ressuscitou! Congratulations once for all the work and knowledge you have shared. I wish you the best for your new Iconography course, it is very well organized and it is at a very low price. You should reconsider in writing soon a history manual book about Roman Cretan Orthodox Tradition in Iconography, as the manual of Dionysius of Fourna. It is not possible to purchase any of his books. I think you should think about this. God help you.
Thank you so much Pedro!
Is your course still available in Greek? I’m very interested. Σας ευχαριστούμε!
Could you please do also other painting iconography parts like this one.
Thank you
Thank you for your video. Can you perhaps make a video with a bunch of mistakes you go on to fix them? I consistently have trouble with fixing mistakes, especially with faces
Maestro Antonis doesn't make mistakes ;)
Haha of course I do Mark... Thank God I make them! :)

Γιατί όχι στα Ελληνικά;
Η δουλειά σου είναι εξαιρετική,αλλά γιατί δεν μας τα λες ελληνικά; Έλληνες δεν είμαστε;Απαρνείσαι την Ελλσδα;
You don’t paint icons but write icons !!
Please do explain! I know we write letters! Why we use 'write' as a verb for icons?
@@PaintingtheLight because your writing their lives in the icon, bringing them to habit/live among us once more.
@@oOIYvYIOo Pedro thank you for your kind words about my course!
About the use of 'write' as the verb to describe the action of creating an Icon, it does not make sense. Is is used by non Greek iconographers as they literally translate the Greek word iconography where icon means icon and - graph from the Greek word for writing. So they do translate 'write an icon'. This though is a translation that when taken literally doesn't make sense because the action of making an icon and the verb to describe the action is painting. We do not write a photogragh, we do not write cinema (cinematography), we do not say we write a lithography. It does not make sense. Yes we narrate the bios, and facts from the life of Christ and the Saints, but using painting as our medium, and painting is the correct verb to describe that action.
