Lol! What an encouraging story and funny too about how you went to that island without even video chatting Ritchie. Loved it. I’m like you man. Done sooo many different online dating sites over the years and been on quite a few dates and wanted to give up. Gave it one last chance and have been talking with a wonderful woman who lives in Bangkok and we video chat daily. She won’t even let me buy her flowers because she doesn’t want anyone to think she only wants me for my money not that we’ve talked about it lol. I plan to apply for my visa in Feb or March and hope I don’t have to quarantine but willing to do it to get into Thailand and see her.

I remember you said you met on tinder..my experience and my advice is to talk online to girls you can meet in a few weeks or you already there..i tried during the pandemic to use tinder or other apps but as you cant travel to thailand for at least 1 year or more, i noticed on my side of me getting bored of girls who feel alone mostly and look desperate for a bf and on their side they disappear after one day of talking, i suppose they chat with so many men (and always tell you you are the one only ahahha). One lady from bangkok i matched on tinder she did a tiktok video screen shooting all her tinder matches and chats she had hundreds of men chatting to her and she was so excited as she even did the gold..eventually she found the one now together. This is my experience
Yes like I said I have good and bad experience I was in and out of online dating but yes like you said best to talk for a little while and meet soon as then you don’t get bored and can find out if really like each other

Met my misses on Thai friendly,been together 5 years now and couldn’t be happier.
I am 58 and she is 39,but she looks about 30,the age thing doesn’t mean so much here in Thailand.
But when we go back to my country for the first time,I expect a few uncomfortable looks and snide comments from the old bags back home.
But I sure know what their hubby’s will be thinking.

16 years between my Thai wife and I, when I brought her to the UK there were lots disapproving looks and as you say snide comments. She was 39 but looked in her 20’s, I was mid 50’s. We’ve been together 11 years and are now living in Thailand, we don’t get a second look here as it’s just the norm, even when a couple are both Thais the age gap can be large !

Have a similar story. Met my wife 14 yrs ago online, she's 11 yrs younger, on a general site, travelled to Bkk for first time ever to meet her after chatting online for a month. Like you I almost didn't go to airport, no video chat then, so was first time seeing each other except photos. She gave up her computer company came to UK & we got married the year after, still going strong!
Good to know how it all started in terms of your relationship. Beautiful story. Age is irrelevant when it comes to a mutual loving relationship. There is a 10 year age gap between us and a few of our best friends relationships. It works and it’s what you both want. That’s what matters. Like that beach too. You sure it’s not Krabi 😂

Great story. i went online dating on Thai Cupid back in 2019 after breaking up with my long time GF. It was really just a joke as I was using it as a learning ground for *real* online dating and never really expected to meet anyone. I didn't really find anyone suitable (they either had kids or couldn't speak English very well) until right at the end of my 3 months membership. Then Ribbin replied to a like I had given her, and we chatted and got on well.
We met on Koh Kood January last year and I was like you - is she real? is she going to show? Is she a man? LOL But we got on fabulously and I knew she was a keeper when she took a secret video of me nodding off on a beach chair that was *extremely* unflattering and she was still laughing about the next day!
Then Covid hit and we have been doing long distance now for the last 16 months. That has been difficult and not without it's moments, but we are still going stong and I will see her again in 2 months. Should be interesting and hopefully wonderful :-)

I met the woman I think might be the love of my life on ThaiMatch this year and met with her in Phuket this June. I am going back to meet her family in the NorthEastern Provinces next week. We've video chatted literally every day for hours before and after Phuket and she's everything I ever hoped for in a partner.

My Thai GF Ribbin and I did 18 months long distance during Covid, then I met her in Thailand last July and we had an EPIC 7 months going to EVERY island in Thailand diving and mountain biking and we got on famously. Not without a few good arguments but that is just working out how we live and love together as we are two different people from two different cultures. I returned to Australia in March to save more money and sort things out there, but met Ribbin in Singapore over Easter and right now we are in Bali diving and still as in love as ever. She is awesome.
I can only hope you have as much luck as me. Thai women are a little different from Western women and you kinda have to get used to their ways, but if you find a good one they are amazing.

Do something out of character, daring or outright new to you and you will be rewarded in life. Give to people you dont know something nice and Karma will reward you back. I’m counting the days till my next thai trip nov 6th. It’s an awesome country and the people there make it even better.
I had it happen to me a few months ago. I was not looking for love. My new girlfriend May messaged me on Facebook and wanted to chat. Been video chatting everyday for the last three months. She is amazing. We call our selves a couple even thought we have not meet face to face. Thailand Covid19 restrictions are driving us crazy. She speak perfect English has a degree. She has a great job. She has invited me to come live at her home when I can get into Thailand. She is 27 beautiful and I am 61. I tried to push her away at first telling her I am to old for her. She did not care, says I have a kind heart. I am looking forward to the future. She has never asked anything from me.

I was married 27 years to an american women. I think the culture here got to her. I put her through Nursing school. She completely changed after that. Divorced me with 3 kids after 27 years of my life. My neighbor committed suicide after his wife left him. I had to watch as they took him out of the house. I decide right then that wont be me. I won't let anything or anybody destroy who I am. I looked 2 years online for the perfect women. After much prayer I found a good christian women from the Philippines. Everyone told me she was just using me to get to america. And yes , shes 12 years younger then me and very attractive. Well my friend. That was almost 10 years ago. My wife treats me like a king. Shes so sweet, loving, giving, hard working. Its amazing. I'm so grateful and blessed to have her in my life. Thank you father God. You do need to be careful because you can get scammed. Been married and divorced now moving to Thailand my kids grown up and I met the perfect person in a village near khon Kean at a Buddhist wedding
She'd never been out of village even seen the sea but she was an amazing person who looked after her dad while her sister worked and sent her money to look after her dad and house
Her dad died last year I was with him he asked me to take care of noi and 9 year old daughter who is amazing moving out there from UK permanently can't wait march I think

Congrats, nice story mate. I was on Phi Phi when the Tsunami hit and indeed that very beach before it, luckily my accommodation was elevated and in the middle of the island. Pretty sure that resort was operational and unfortunately got hit by the waves. Also, on sunset beach, far right corner there was a little bar (hut) , sunset bar. Run by a thai guy and his English wife, had a small daughter. I always wondered if they survived the hit, i didn't see them around over the couple of days after during cleanup etc. Anyway, best of luck to you both, Phi Phi is a magical place.

Great love story mate and I wish Maybelle and you a happy and long marriage, subscribed love your up beat videos. I was set up and met my now Thai wife, effectively on a blind date. I had a friend go back to NZ from Australia and asked a Thai lady she knew, if she had knew any nice Thai girls that she could introduce me too. My mate hassled me to go and all I had was a black and white photo of her, I arrived in Bangkok and the Thai lady from NZ picked me up and we drove north for 5 hours, I didn't even know where I was going, but ended up in a small town in Korat. I think it must've been love at first sight as I couldn't take my eyes off of her. When I came back to Australia, I got a few snide comments from a few jealous people with a narrow view of Thai woman. There are just a few knockers, with majority of people actually happy for you, anyway I've been married for two years now and look forward to many more, so blind dates and online dating actually still works.

Great vlog and story! Richie you don't appear 'older' as to me you appear quite young. Can I ask what are your ages. If that's too forward then my apologies. I have always met girlfriends when I was younger at parties, through friends and through work. Dating was never a problem because I find with online dating it's like putting up a list on a menu.
