Join me on a Trip to Cologne to see what Sights & Delights are on Offer in Germany's 4th largest city. I was invited to attend a match at EURO 2024 between England & Slovenia and decided to take the opportunity to explore the city and see if it is worth visiting.
This video is the first in a new travel series entitled JOE GOES where I am looking to investigate various places of interest around the world.

Welcome to Germany 🇩🇪 ❤ Excting to know that you are here ❤❤❤
Hope you’ll habe a great time
Walking around with that camera in front of you be careful not to bump into Peter Ziehan going the other way
😅 at least he doesn't look so important. enjoy your time in Köln 🎉
kaboom boom TISHHHHH! (who said Germans had no sense of humour!)
😂😂 great comment
😄
I absolutely love Germany, it's a pleasure to visit a country where the population take pride in their built environment.German's don't use their streets like open-air rubbish bins like we do here. It grieves me to say it, as we have some of the most stunning cities and countryside in the world, but many take it for granted and abuse it. I can think of no more jarring example of this than when I saw a lady changing a baby's soiled nappy on Gold Hill in Shaftesbury and then proceeded to leave it in the gutter, and walk away !
Brits have forgotten the “don’t sh!t on your own doorstep” saying. Haven’t seen anywhere in the visited countries and cities of Europe quite as grimy, littered, and run down as most of the UK main towns and inner cities.
Did you rub her nose in it? For society?
She will probably have a go at you for not giving her the credit of keeping the baby.
Why does Berlin smell like urine then?
You are not talking about Cologne, though 🤔😝
Hey Joe, if you plan to come to Frankfurt, I’m happy to show you around. Greetings from Germany!😊
Great you are in my neighbor city. A warm welcome from Düsseldorf!!!
I visited Düsseldorf just after Christmas last year and totally loved it. ❤️from 🇳🇱
More Joe goes! Thank you, that was fantastic. I’m starting the day with a great big smile!
Thanks, Joe! Great content as always! Come back to Germany any time!😄
Großartig, eine Episode aus Köln🤩 genieß das Kölsch 🍻 und hab eine schöne Zeit!
So glad that you are getting a much needed vacation, you work very hard and deserve some leisure 😊
JOe!!!! I love this new concept!! keep travelling my man!
You should do a tour of the public toilets and call it Joe Boggs … missed a trick there 😆
Err.. no, he shouldn't😂
@@compactcasette he’d get a Super Thanks from me if he did 🤣

I like the crossover style, a bit like Michael Lambert recently- You both cover very different topics, but for both your videos it makes a refreshing change, and you are a great travel vlogger as well!
Cheers from Luxembourg
Germany looks like a really nice place…makes me want to go there for a holiday…
Its a great country
Theres a lot of small towns in germany that look like they're taken out of a disney movie.
have nothing to do with trains. ever. plan everything otherway around and its just brilliant. cologne was my destination.
Germany is such a nice place, no wonder you've had a great time there.
Greetings form Germany's neighbour.
Hello, welcome to Germany. Ich freue mich, dass du da bist.
Hey Joe, back in '77 when I was 12 my Dad got posted from Canada to Larkhill England with the artillery. My Grandparents came over from Canada to visit us and we went on a tour of Europe. Driving through Cologne in our VW station wagon, we went past the cathedral and while everyone else was looking at it, my Grandpa was looking at the railyard across the road. He elbowed me in the ribs and said, "You see that railyard? I bombed that." LOL. I'll never forget that.
It's funny seeing you without your famous background!
Awesome work as usual brother!
Great change of pace.
Congrats, man. You deserve it!
Thanks for sharing, and the sprinkling of eye candy.
Welcome to Germany 🥳🥳🥳 Enjoy your holidays and don't forget the german beer 🍻 🍻 🍻 and good luck for the three lions 😁😁😁
Luck is not their friend.
@@rnash999 Nah its not (nice to use that term for something quite humorous for once lol, nah lucks never been our thing really, oh well...
Joe, you’re an absolute natural at this. Very interesting and enjoyable. Thank you. Al. 👍
Thanks for bringing us along.
Neither a football fan, nor near Cologne. But a warm welcome to Germany.
Great vid Joe. Makes me want to visit there!
BBC’s new travel show from the perspective of a geopolitical economics scholar 🤣👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤️
Joe Goes...... great name! Your opinions are held in high esteem.
This video was lovely! A refreshing change. Roll on Sunday!🏴
Very nice departure from your financial and political blogs. Europe is a fantastic place to visit. I when to most western Europe, lot to see, and see again.
This is excellent Joe!!! Loved it! 🎉🎉🎉
Welcome to Köln. Enjoy your time there.
Forget Brexit.
We have, we are out of the EU......but we are still very much in Europe.....unlike Hungary who are still in the USSR!?!
I’m looking forward to any Joe Goes vids 👍🏻😉
I had to laugh at your comment because it made me think of a Joe Goes Wild (like those Girls Gone Wild) video. I agree with you that Joe doing more travel videos is something to look forward to.
I'll be going to Germany, next week, for one month. I've never been there before, and can only speak a little German. I heard that many people speak English tho. I'm use to going to Ukraine, where I went every summer, for many years. However, that was before the war. Germany looks more western, so I think I'll be able to get along well.
Enjoyed your video. Keep producing them!
That cathedral is one of those buildings that leaves a lasting impression.
Definitely lasting. It took over 600 years to built 🤔
Yeey, Joe visiting my (kind of) hometown.
Born "kölsch" (="Colognish"), I am now living in Bonn (former capital), which is 20 miles from there.
Bonn is often overlooked by tourists but definitely also worth a visit...
Yep Bonn = Beethoven! Bonngasse 20.
Hello Joe! thank you for this lovely video. I do appreciate it. I've sent a copy to my partner Michael who is from Cologne originally. I've talked your videos up to him - he's as much a news and information junkie as I am. Hopefully this'll entice him to watch your other videos. He's been glued to the TV here in Palm Springs CA watching the footie too. Again thank you for your coverage of this lovely city. Ciao. Jim
❤ Palm Springs ❤😍
People in Palm Springs are watching our rather outdated football sport ?! , cool to know .
it's great to see you get to do something new, and enjoying yourself.
Great...keep on going..lots more to visit and enjoy..
Joe, that was a very pleasant detour. Would love to see more.
Thank you for bringing us along.
From Atlanta, Georgia USA . . . visited Cologne and the cathedral back in 2018 - inside is worth a return trip.
Very well done tour, well around the importent things there, like Your stile in guidance.. ❤😂🤗 Karl
Joe tourist videos let's gooooo
I enjoyed this video, great job. I would like to know more about you Joe
Very British of you :) have fun!
V ll .................I wonder if he'll go all soccer hooligan when they lose ????
@@dannycalley7777 didn't you see he had access to posh seats / SkyBox ?
He is a sophisticated gent , you should have figured that out by his previous video content.
Excellent, interesting video, Joe. Please create more...😄
Next episode: Taking a train in Germany and getting stuck somewhere in the Sauerland for 4 hours because the train broke down.😂
you would not have needed to mention it was in germany, i would already known by the information of a 4hour delayed train :D
I was on the train in Belgium towards Germany. Unfortunately for some German ladies their train to cologne got canceled with no explication - but nobody seemed angry. Good weather helps 😅
@@miekevp7271 cancelling trains is one of the things Deutsche Bahn is best at at these days. It happened to me last weekend, when I was travelling home from my vacation.
Hi Joe. I’m an ardent follower of yours. It was a great surprise to watch your travel log on Cologne. I’m 83 and spent nearly 3 years of my youth in this lovely city. I was 17 and just a kid. It was the best time of my life and left a lasting impression on me. They were still clearing rubble when I was there and everybody had to do their bit. A wonderful work ethic. I’m too old to revisit so thanks for your presentation.
Nice to look round, many years since I went there, happy days! Come in England!!!!
Have a really great time. Enjoy
Thanks Joe, I thoroughly enjoyed that virtual tour.
Glad you are able to get out🎉!
You are a natural at the travel blogs! Really interesting things you brought up.
Enjoy Joe 👍
And, Joe, I live in IPSWICH. Come visit me to see a stark difference!
'Joe on the go', I like it. Will you be shopping for any new statuesque backdrops? Enjoy your trip, Joe.
Enjoy your trip and the nice weather :)
I was there for a few days,..Beautiful ,.. At 157 m (515 ft), the cathedral is the tallest twin-spired church in the world… 💙💛💙
M44............thanks for the xtra !!!!!
"Joe goes" so wonderful to see him. He's simply the best. I love him.
The people in and around Cologne are famous for their friendly, joyful attitude. Also, it was very nice seeing you smile and enjoying yourself, especially given the dark yet important topics in your more regulate videos. I hope you had an opportunity to meet some of the Rheinländer. 🤗
Nice Video Joe something else indeed
nice to see you get out
Totally loving your new video format! ❤ You should definitely do a video every time you get the chance to travel. I also love the fact that you've a real person that isn't sponsored by anyone or using cheesy background music. Thanks for that! ❤
I’m subscribed to a number of walking tour UA-cam sites, just to see how the other half lives. Hope you do more of these types of postings, if you can afford the time and effort. Doesn’t hurt to diversify a bit.
Enjoy your stay. Just remember, it’s never comming home 😂
Thanks! Nice break!🎉
Nice work, Joe
This is great !
You're a natural UA-cam guide.
Very informative and interesting.
Great video - more beers next time!
Nice! Thank You!
Enjoy such videos. More would be fine. Good variety. :)
What an amazing video! Thank you for taking us along with you on your adventure.
I love architecture and I appreciate the view of the local pub there.
I look forward to seeing the next installment of Joe Goes!
I think you did a great job in cologne, that was all business
The only words you need - Eine bier bitte and Danke
cool fun, ty JoeBlogs
Liked the Joe Goes format. First time I ever saw a video about Colone. Enjoyed it.
@Joe : I live 30 minutes ( by train ) away from Cologne and less than 30 minutes away from Düsseldorf.
When you are next time in one of these cities say me and we can meet for a few beers 🍻🍺
That's right, teens still hang posters of 89' Testerosas. They don't ALWAYS look down at their phones/they will definitely see the posters. Hilarious.
Great video Joe. Thanks for sharing!
Guess this disproves the theory That Joes is an AI geopolitical commenter.
Bot all day.
I was in Cologne but only for a day. I visited the Deutsche Welle broadcaster.
Nice video!
Joe goes, this is amazing. Thanks 🙏
Loved it! Well done.
Thank you for the tour. Exciting. Cologne is an interesting, I'd say marvellous city, especially by the river. Joe, I wish you a fantastic experience during your stay, and hope you had an exciting football match. Cheers from Copenhagen.
I enjoyed it. Thanks mate.
All work and no play makes Joe a dull boy. Kőln lovely city.
Joe, is this video the start of your retirement project???
I remember at the age of 10 in 1951 standing on the steps of Cologne Cathedral and looking out at what was still a scene of devastation, with not a building standing within 5-700m. The Allies certainly bombed it badly, but knowing the accuracy of bombing in those days, the survival of the Cathedral may have been an element of luck, even if the intention was to leave it untouched.
nice. im from Düsseldorf. enjoy your stay. we are funny people x)
Loved it
Thanks 👍
A great video, very entertaining. 😀
great format, hope you are enjoying Germany!
🇩🇪 🥰🇪🇺
Nice thank you
Really interesting 😊 ❤ 🇬🇧
A fun video! Fun in the sense that it was fun seeing you do it. And it was without the stress of the heavy issues of world economics, although of course those are far more important.
Hi Joe! Joe goes is a fantastic idea and your video of Cologne is really fun to watch!
Got a say I am liking "the Joe goes " . It's good to see ya get out there!
Great vid, hope you have a wonderful time
Welcome to my hometown Joe! Enjoy and have fun, let me know if you need a local tour guide, i would love to meet you in person.
