Agreed. I've always liked using the Thunder Storm because of its high damage potential. It's not so great on its own, but if you're going for a full Eridian build (all four slots using Eridian weapons), you'll want this one in there for a quick swap to deal some damage. It can be invaluable for saving you from death if your enemies are swarming you. Just pay close attention to how many shots it has and swap it out the minute it's out of "ammo" or you'll die waiting for it to recharge like I used to do soooo much when I first made an Eridian build.

I discovered that the thunderstorm gun has a hidden effect. It completely destroys flying things like rakks and stuff. I just kind of aim it upward and all the rakks in the vicinity die from the lightning strike + chain lightning. It's a good weapon against flying enemies, but not very strong against ground enemies.
I remember getting a thunderstorm around level 12-ish i think? That thing literrally carried me to endgame, it was amazing. Its one of my favorite guns i've used in games period. I hope bl3 reintroduces the eldritch guns, tbe idea for them is fantastic
The best way to get more shots with all of these is to have mutiple in your invintory In fact i had a brick that had 4 eriduim shot guns and i was pretty invinsible
My first play through I got a somehow glitched 001 cannon without a scope that did "9999999..." damage and fired quite fast without draining the charge (killed anything in one hit even bosses)
... i didn't know there are that many Eridian weapons, have only seen 5 ... Thunderstorm is very nice, always carry one with Lilith for bandits ... Lightning served quite well too, at least in first playthrough ...
I personally love most of the eridian weapons. But only when they have the right battery, the skinny little phallic one with a tip on it, it makes them charge super fast, which is good for getting the elements on the enemy and then switching to another weapon.
Ive got about 30 or so pearlescents through farming them from craw or armory, but NEVER EVER saw a single legendary eridian. Those things are so freakin rare... Only surpassed by the Invader Nemesis.
I actually used these weapons a fair bit myself. Got a weapon proficiency over 36 with them. Stack them in 3 weapon slots and you can keep switching Between then whenever their charge is empty. I had an SMG as my 4th just in case stuff hit the fan - which was rare tbf. Was fun never needing to reload. There are also different "crystal" parts (with the blue tracing glowing effects) that determine max charge/recharge speed and high damage/slow recharge/minimum charge and things like that. Very cool finding a god roll on some of em - especially the wave blaster. Can snipe enemies from a distance with it and not worry bout anything haha.
I wish more of them had elemental versions. A fire Mercurial blaster might be fairly decent, especially if there were legendary or pearlescent eridan weapons.
My experience with Eridian weapons from my initial play trough back in 09 was so bad that it prevented me from picking any other Eridian ever again. I never even considered Eridian weapons untill I watched this video. To me they were troll items meant to be sold as junk.
Borderlands 1 was the only game I played when I was 6. I got the game of the year edition for my birthday and played it nonstop. I met this kid online and his name was like Bloodshot or Handshot or something like that, but he gave me a modded shield and a modded invisible gun which one shot everyone except for cramerax because you had to shoot the purple spots. My xbox glitched and my friends list was wiped and I never played with him again. Those were the days. My name on the 360 was really bad too. Poopierichie
I did not use them much, but in my opinion they were far in a way worse than even the standard purple weapons. They did too little damage, and took too long to recharge.
I just beat Borderlands today for the first time, and I had two Eridian weapons in my quick select. A level 28 101001 Cannon, and a level 28 101001 Ball Blaster. They weren't very powerful, but they were a godsend when I ran out of ammo for my assault rifles and machine pistols lol. Man my Grim Rage chewed through those magazines lol.
I noticed there were a few things to add on functionality for this list that wasn't mentioned. So, "Heads Up": 1. the Cannon!: so shoot, melee, and immediately shoot again. ... O.O 2. the Stampeding Glob gun: corridor fights are great, shoot the walls/ground, it multiplies! 3. Magazine size abilities are best for these guns, IMO. Hi Roland! 4. In single player mode, is it just me, or do all these guns reload fully when you go to inventory, un-equip/re-equip?
Honestly, I find the eridian sniper rifle to be one of the best to score crits consistently, although with a huge disadvantage of having low dmg compared to other snipers. The eridian sniper doesn’t require you to make predictions of where the bullet will go when you’re shooting a moving target. It’s like a gauss rifle, really - just point and shoot, and get a shock damage bonus if you thought that headshot wasn’t enough. Although near the endgame you’ll certainly need to deal more than one headshot to actually kill someone. Still, a nice gun that only suffers from low damage.
hey there. new to your channel and like the content. decent video but out of the Eridium blasters, i didn't see the "ball blaster" what is nice about that one is that it's pretty much the first borderlands 2 tourge assault rifle in borderlands 1 but using the lightning element. also that hole video about lilith using them which is nice considering you get high elemental performance out of them but that for ones who goes for lilith.
The eridian weapons are ridiculously underpowered. If you are so OC and want to level its proficiency, you will have a hard time; It deals little to no damage on normal to large spiderants, lance and bruisers. The same issue with the launcher where they deal little to no damage on devastators like Knoxx, large enemies and other badass variants
Depends a bit... I would take Eridian Blasters over E-Tech blasters any day of the week, same goes for the Eridian sniper rifle-ish weapons, however I think I would prefer E-Tech Plasma casters(except from the bandit plasma casters) over Eridian blasters. They just deal a nice amount of damage, have good stats in general and because SMGs have such a massive ammo pool in BL2 the increased ammo consumption doesn´t hurt them as much. Also, I think at least some E-Tech launchers are superior to the Eridian cannons.
in my entire play through of borderlands one i saw 3 to 4 eridian weapons there just as rare as legendaries with the exeception of one that drops 100% of the time from that one mini boss and then thatd probably the first and last youll see of them for a awhile like a long long while i went through knoxes armory several times and i didnt see a single one
I miss the eridian guns in the first borderlands they should bring them back also the thunderstorm shotgun one is my favorite as well. but I also like the lightning bolt sniper kajigger thingy too
In my opinion when it comes to eridian and making the most out of them you just HAVE to shoot til no charge, then SWAP to your normal weapon. I go crazy when waiting for the charge otherwise. But tbh I only ever used them to try max out my proficiency stats
My main char in Borderlands is Roland, as he is the 'Well Rounded' OP char (proven by his game breaking increased mag size skills). But as far as Eridian weapons go, I would disagree with your assesment up through the #2 spot. This video is just however your opinion and I whole-fully respect that. The following is also just my opinion. On the blaster rifles, they are cool, but I sell all wave rifles as soon as I can. The homing shot rifles are better to me but again sold the instant I get them or until I get a standard rifle (#6), and those I keep until I manage to find a mecurial Rifle (#2 or 3 for me), the best in my mind: same damage per shot as a standard with the same recoil and accuracy, the downside being the increased fire rate which I am used to. The cannons should be last on this list if at all. Yes they are considered to deal explosive damage by the community, but none of the player skills that increase explosive or elemental damage actually work with any of the Cannons. Sorry everyone, but these (literally & figuratively) bad boys are only standard ballistic damage dealers. I would say the lightning rifle (the other #2 or 3) is better than the shock rifle(#7) even with its higher cost per shot. I feel I can, even on Brick, one shot most enemies with or without a shield with lightning rifles. Also, lightning rifles are guaranteed to spawn in game with a scope, while shock rifles can spawn with almost(?) any sight in the game. The only down-side to lightning rifles is their tendency to shoot slighty up and to the right off center when scoped in. The shock rifle's saving grace is its (however unreliable) ricocheting projectiles. You covered fire and acid rifles well, and respectfully i would rank them #5 and #4. (I got used to the arcing projectiles these use because I got used to using Borderlands 2's E-tech shotguns.) #1 I agree with being the Thunder Storm. Easily the most powerful Eridian weapon next to the cannons, and is built for close to medium range encounters. Synergizes well with Lilith's and Roland's skills, and an overall viable shotgun replacement for anyone who plays Borderlands. Almost always procs DoT elemental damage if more than 1 projectile hits. Only downside is the special enemies that heal off shock damage in the first DLC for the game. (Zombie Island for those who didn't know.)
9:20 you killed 4 skags and the magazine is empty... and the gun has a half hour recharge time. You have to switch to a double anarchy. By the way lets stick with it because it is a great weapon. Great design.
They should bring back eridian weapons, and to fix the problem with having to wait for them to recharge, maybe have a quick time event to instantly charge them like in the modern battlefront games
Eridian weapons is basically a gimmick, you either like it or you dislike it. Other than said gimmick, there isn't much to them. The first time you even knew they existed is probably from the one Crimson Lance boss that have a guaranteed drop. But by that time you already leveled your proficiency with your preferred guns quite a lot (and probably picked up a Legendary or two already), and it's a pain to do it all over again, especially when you are reaching end game. Now move on to the "no ammo" part, again at this point in the game ammo should not be a problem for any player that are older than 12. Then there's the fact that it take longer to recharge an Eridian gun than simply put a new clip into your standard guns (and that doesn't even taking proficiency into account). Even in this video you can see that he killed the bandit quicker by simply unloading an smg clip into their face as opposed to using the Eridian gun. Then there's aesthetic, all of them are sort of bland with the mostly white skin, and the energy rounds doesn't have the "boom" like your standard guns would. 'Pew pew' will never beat 'bang bang' imo. Elemental effects is also doesn't stand out that much. In conclusion, I think Eridian guns is in the solid mediocre tier.
I went through the entire armory DLC once using nothing other than 4 Eridian weapons. The thunder storm, lightning, rifle, and mercurial blaster. With max Eridian proficiency I could cycle through weapons and they would be fully charged again.
That one pistol with all the elements, is that modded with willow tree? The one I made a long time ago on my 360 if I ads and empty the clip my 360 would freeze 😂good times! Great video!
Seeing game-play for this game makes it seem so dated now compared to the new borderlands games. I mean, I know it's old, but I didn't think it aged this bad, in terms of graphics and animation at least.
Andrew Guinn the graphics of borderlands 1 are far superior in my eyes It was meant to have that cartoony comic book style to it. Borderlands 2 doesn't have that as much. Don't get me wrong borderlands 2 is gorgeous, just strayed off from the original a lot. Animation is kinda wonky I do agree on that though.
+Fireteen97 dude what??? borderlands was supposed to be a realistic call of duty game They changed it last minute because of hate for more realistic games
I don't think the graphics are the problem, but rather the design. The colors are dull and the settings are more realistic and dreary. The other games really push that cartoony style to make better designed levels, with brighter colors. The Dust most closely resembles the original game, but compared to other locations in Borderlands 2 like the bright green Caustic Caverns and the deep purple Eridium Blight, it just doesn't look as good.
as long as you have a site it's pretty good guns that like the stock pistol have no sides of their invisible and it looks like you're holding a toy gun
Hizzax its ssd because alot of the gameplay mechanics are way more fun to use bl1 feels more like a limited sandbox where the rest are like wierd shooter rpgs that try really hard to get no where borderlands 2 does lot of good on the content and drop rates but not as great as bl1s drops eridian weapons where crappy but they where show pieces since legendary eridian are rarer then hibrids especially the better ones few people even know the thunderstorm has a legendary since it most like will never be seen point is legendaries pop up just at the right time to spice up gameplay same goes for moxxis underdome its just a great change of pace and claptraps revolutions is just a nice ending to it all also knoxes setting so many trends for later borderlands games like big chest rooms at the end of some quests (still does it the best though) as well the first raid boss being crawmerax is only accessable oh and uh moxxi first showed up in knox
I think eridian and e-tech weapons should be modifiers to weapons like how moon grinding works cause I'd love an eridian lyuda that shoots the tracker rounds
I loved the alien guns and when I got my first and only legendary one the acid one I nearly shit my self as I didnt know the existed lol. And I love Etech from borderlands 2 even though they generally suck their just fun to use
Some of the eridian weapons have very vast bullets and one of them ( sniper rifle ) has the fastest in the game (also the most accurate one out of all of them) and the same gun has the fastest recharge rate
I have 2 things to say. first, I hope things get better for you VPG (vinlycpumagaming) and another thing. i hope in borderlands 3 they add back E-tech, lasers and Eridean guns just to add even more to the mix. and maybe make revolvers and repeaters be different again. like maybe Jakobs won't ever make repeaters and Dahl never makes revolvers. and then like Maliwan makes both and stuff
RoboGameBoy64 how can be Eridian weapons can be scarp metal like maliwan :/ Isn't made by human u know but alien an alien made vault and key vault Developer just lazy and don't want to back its in b2 :(

In fact i had a brick that had 4 eriduim shot guns and i was pretty invinsible
That nemesis invader tho
My first play through I got a somehow glitched 001 cannon without a scope that did "9999999..." damage and fired quite fast without draining the charge (killed anything in one hit even bosses)
... i didn't know there are that many Eridian weapons, have only seen 5 ... Thunderstorm is very nice, always carry one with Lilith for bandits ... Lightning served quite well too, at least in first playthrough ...
AkelasanAK ,I have 4 cannons 2 lightning 1 thunder and something else
Edit:Wave blaster
Gotta say you do pretty good at getting videos out in comparison to some youtubers I know.
Most of the eridian weapons suck but the eridian lightning has been a long-time favorite of mine.
I've been farming for ages for those things. I have all of them now and it was all worth it.
You da man. Been watching your videos for 7 months now
All of bl rarities

The thunderstorm is hands down the best and most satisfying eridian weapon in BORDERLANDS
The thunderstorm absolutely chews through guardians at the promontory when up close.
The corrosive eridian rifle is the only reason I made it through my first fort knoxx run, such a good gun
I always loved getting the Sniper Rifle and Shotgun versions because the shock damage on those things... Oof!
I just remember getting an eridian weapon and going nuts haha. Usually from the chest where Tanis is at where you have to parkour to get to
Awesome video like always love the borderlands 1 count downs
I don't like eridian weapons as much mainly because of accuracy.
I wish more of them had elemental versions. A fire Mercurial blaster might be fairly decent, especially if there were legendary or pearlescent eridan weapons.
VinylicPumaGaming there's the firebomb
+VinylicPumaGaming hey man are you feeling better because I feel for you and I'm sorry for your loss
Darrion Alvarado the biggest problem is they are very underwhelming.
is borderlands 1 good are planning to buy it on xbox one
I remember getting some sort of sniper that seems to clean house fairly well
My experience with Eridian weapons from my initial play trough back in 09 was so bad that it prevented me from picking any other Eridian ever again. I never even considered Eridian weapons untill I watched this video. To me they were troll items meant to be sold as junk.
Im so glad I got this game in the steam winter sale this year. I can't wait to farm craw and the armory :D
*Thinks back to Borderlands 1*
Does it beat a Double Anarchy?
Nothing beats double anarchy. Lol
@@dannykrise9721 You got your Double Anarchy for close range, and your Hellfire for long range, and that's all you need
Looks like we have something in common VP. We both love the Eridian Thunderstorm.
Good to know people still play borderlands the best game ever like if you agree
they should remake borderlands 1 for the ps4 and Xbox like if u agree
Isaiah Shelton I doubt they will as you can get the originals via subscriptions for both of them .
What about pc?
FlYdRoPzZ Are you!!
@@Slide- No capitalization and misspelling, you might be, don't know about the other guy though.
Prayers have been answered!
You can also farm lilith's eridian warrior class mod to give these an extra boost
I noticed there were a few things to add on functionality for this list that wasn't mentioned. So, "Heads Up":
1. the Cannon!: so shoot, melee, and immediately shoot again. ... O.O
2. the Stampeding Glob gun: corridor fights are great, shoot the walls/ground, it multiplies!
The thunder storm absolutely destroyed the destroyer in my first play through of Lilith. That's not saying much though bc the destroyer is easy af
I'm currently playing BL with my sis and were have fun with the dlc's and I am a revovler man my self and shotgun , because I like westerns lol.
in my entire play through of borderlands one i saw 3 to 4 eridian weapons there just as rare as legendaries with the exeception of one that drops 100% of the time from that one mini boss and then thatd probably the first and last youll see of them for a awhile like a long long while
i went through knoxes armory several times and i didnt see a single one
I miss the eridian guns in the first borderlands
they should bring them back
also the thunderstorm shotgun one is my favorite as well. but I also like the lightning bolt sniper kajigger thingy too
The eridian weapons only got better with weapon proficiencies, which is kind of a shame too cause are suppose to be advanced in technology.
Only ever got Eridian Lightning and the cannon the Lightning's red text is "it feels like I'm going to break this thing."
(I got used to the arcing projectiles these use because I got used to using Borderlands 2's E-tech shotguns.)
#1 I agree with being the Thunder Storm.
Very interesting, did not know there where so msny types. I have a 68 siren on the go atm, may try some of these out.
We seriously need these weapons in future Borderlands 3 DLC, with some new Eridian weapons.
Is no.7's firebomb 2's pimpernel?
awesome.
Borderlands 1 is the best and always will be
lol no
lol yes
Man borderland 2 don't have this anymore maybe developer throw its to earth :/
ParryDaDoggy bl2 facts
Bl2 is a way better game. But bl1 is still a very good game.
I went through the entire armory DLC once using nothing other than 4 Eridian weapons. The thunder storm, lightning, rifle, and mercurial blaster. With max Eridian proficiency I could cycle through weapons and they would be fully charged again.
The thunder storm is absolutely beast mode I have one for my lvl 55 Lilith and the shock is amazing
That one pistol with all the elements, is that modded with willow tree? The one I made a long time ago on my 360 if I ads and empty the clip my 360 would freeze 😂good times! Great video!
Sweet I can find now thanks puma
I like the eridian sniper but if u have a technique u can kick ass with damn near all of them
Seeing game-play for this game makes it seem so dated now compared to the new borderlands games. I mean, I know it's old, but I didn't think it aged this bad, in terms of graphics and animation at least.
Andrew Guinn the graphics of borderlands 1 are far superior in my eyes
It was meant to have that cartoony comic book style to it. Borderlands 2 doesn't have that as much. Don't get me wrong borderlands 2 is gorgeous, just strayed off from the original a lot. Animation is kinda wonky I do agree on that though.
+Fireteen97 dude what??? borderlands was supposed to be a realistic call of duty game
They changed it last minute because of hate for more realistic games
I don't think the graphics are the problem, but rather the design. The colors are dull and the settings are more realistic and dreary. The other games really push that cartoony style to make better designed levels, with brighter colors. The Dust most closely resembles the original game, but compared to other locations in Borderlands 2 like the bright green Caustic Caverns and the deep purple Eridium Blight, it just doesn't look as good.
as long as you have a site it's pretty good guns that like the stock pistol have no sides of their invisible and it looks like you're holding a toy gun
Holy crap i forgot how old this game looked
Hizzax 2008.
it lookes like a low res b2 or presequel
Hizzax its ssd because alot of the gameplay mechanics are way more fun to use bl1 feels more like a limited sandbox where the rest are like wierd shooter rpgs that try really hard to get no where
borderlands 2 does lot of good on the content and drop rates but not as great as bl1s drops eridian weapons where crappy but they where show pieces since legendary eridian are rarer then hibrids especially the better ones few people even know the thunderstorm has a legendary since it most like will never be seen
point is legendaries pop up just at the right time to spice up gameplay same goes for moxxis underdome its just a great change of pace and claptraps revolutions is just a nice ending to it all
also knoxes setting so many trends for later borderlands games like big chest rooms at the end of some quests (still does it the best though) as well the first raid boss being crawmerax is only accessable
oh and uh moxxi first showed up in knox
The Eridian Lightning is my favorite. I am a Mordecai main.
personally, thunderstorm is my favorite :)
I think eridian and e-tech weapons should be modifiers to weapons like how moon grinding works cause I'd love an eridian lyuda that shoots the tracker rounds
Wished proficiency and eridian guns got more fleshed out in BL2 instead of hitting the dumpster.
I hate using Eridian Weapons but their red text is usually pretty funny and they look nice
I loved the alien guns and when I got my first and only legendary one the acid one I nearly shit my self as I didnt know the existed lol. And I love Etech from borderlands 2 even though they generally suck their just fun to use
Eridians just dont worth it. Slow bullets, hard to aim, slow recharge, bad damage...
Terceiro Ano
free ammo...
Some of the eridian weapons have very vast bullets and one of them ( sniper rifle ) has the fastest in the game (also the most accurate one out of all of them) and the same gun has the fastest recharge rate
I have 2 things to say. first, I hope things get better for you VPG (vinlycpumagaming) and another thing. i hope in borderlands 3 they add back E-tech, lasers and Eridean guns just to add even more to the mix. and maybe make revolvers and repeaters be different again. like maybe Jakobs won't ever make repeaters and Dahl never makes revolvers. and then like Maliwan makes both and stuff
doubt they would add back Eridian weapons since they had to scrap those to make the e-tech guns
Honestly, I hope they bring back repeaters and revolvers being separate weapon categories. I liked the Defiler handcannon and we really need it back.
RoboGameBoy64 how can be Eridian weapons can be scarp metal like maliwan :/
Isn't made by human u know but alien an alien made vault and key vault
Developer just lazy and don't want to back its in b2 :(
I have 4 Cannons, 2 Lightnings, 1 Thunder Storm and 1 Wave Blaster.
