However in the next episode following this one called if They Could See Us Now the stock market crashes causing the Trotters to lose all of it and end up Bankrupt
Yes I think this is where the show should have ended. I did watch the two episodes that came after, but they just weren't the same. The Trotters becoming Millionaires is where it should have been left.
Yeah, bringing it back was a mistake and the final episodes were really poor with daft humour that didn't hit like before (the whole Marlene storyline was just god awful too). The good thing is you can always just pretend this is where the show actually finished.
Total utter Joy, these characters are so real that we feel they're a part of our own lives, and you would gladly want Del & Rodders to be millionaires! The journey with them and the rest of OT&Hs is wonderful and precious in showing Life! Always watch the whole sets of series over the winter, banishes the blues! Cheers the spirit and warms the heart! Love you Del & Rodders! ❤
I suspect I'm not alone when I say that this should have been the final episode of Only Fools and Horses. I've nothing against the specials that came a few years later, but they weren't of the 42 carat standard of the fifteen years that came before.
Cracked me up every single time Trigger called him Dave. Along with the fabulous line "if it's a boy, they're going to name it Rodney... after Dave" 🤣🤣
TBH, I am glad Del & Dave held onto the watch for 15 years thinking it was a Victorian egg timer, because we would have missed out on watching all their adventures and one of the best comedies ever made! Have a happy new year, and a great 2022, you never know by this time next year you could be a millionaire like Del & Dave!
Blockbuster ratings for the 1996 Christmas episodes meant it was only a matter of time before it came back. But show really was never the same again without Uncle Albert.
Cool video for the first 15 years when Only Fools and Horses was around Delboys always said this time next year I’ll be a millionaire and in 1996 it finally happened it should of really ended at that point because when it returned in Christmas 2001 it was still great at that time but without Buster Merryfiled who died in 1999 still it happened even when Lennard Pearce as the grandad who died back in 1984 at least the series continued after that. Hope everybody has a great 2022 after today at midnight.
Happy new year from Australia! I’ve only started watching the show in the last few years on UA-cam, one thing that’s puzzled me is did they end up keeping the money? Or in the land of the Trotters did they somehow lose it or were ripped off by Boysy, or some other nefarious character’s!
As far as I’m concerned the following series didn’t exist, I just love it ending here . The boys getting whet they deserved . Brilliant brilliant ending
Years of trying to make ends meat and suffering finally payed off :) :) :) The greatest moment of only fools and horses :) That will be the greatest moment of all of us too :) Keep the faith people
Quite fitting really, a show that saw Del and Rodney graft for years with all kinds of business schemes, ending with them getting rich off of inherited wealth
Although they should have ended the series after these episodes, they only ever did Christmas specials, and if we're honest we all looked forward to them.
I can take either. They quit as millionaires, with 3 mill apiece in a huge mansion... They quit living comfortably with a few hundred K because Albert knew they'd squander their share (which pays Del back for the time he took Albert in), Del and Rodney accept they're half brothers, Cassandra has a baby named after Joan Trotter. Both great endings. I think the only special that wasn't funny was the Who Wants to Be A Millionaire / Goldrush one, because frankly, Damian Trotter was awful.
It was probably David Jason's idea to do the faint falls. Because as we know, it takes a lot of talent and timing to do a fall - like, through a bar counter - without looking where you intend to hit the floor. This is really where it should have ended. They even resorted to using Norman Wisdom material while they kicked the are out of it.
I’m not going to comment on whether this should have been the last episode or not but I am going to comment about how the weather had noticeably changed in less than two minutes towards the end.
After all their hardships, was good to see them financially secure. Some say money won't buy you happiness, I beg to differ. If I was rich I'd get loads of happiness giving money to poor ppl who need it 🤗
The fact that 5 years later after this episode they'd lost all their money really annoyed me. As others have said, this should have been the perfect ending for the Trotters. After all they'd been chasing the dream for so long and it finally happened when they found the old Victorian Egg Timer.
They could’ve carried on as rich plonkers but this was the ending needed. That said, I hated how Rodney acted being rich…just didn’t suit him. Del however was perfect once they got the money.

A fitting end to the series. The following Xmas specials were absurd and best forgotten. The moment was a tribute to all of the trading wallies out their who've ever dreamed of finding something worth 'farsands'' and 'milyons'.
A very pleasing moment.I think everyone who ever watched only fools was pleased to see the trotters become millionaires
However in the next episode following this one called if They Could See Us Now the stock market crashes causing the Trotters to lose all of it and end up Bankrupt
I cry this episode i was happy for them
@@stephensnell5707 yep should have ended on this episode
"6.2 million. That's a little over 3 million each"...
"We've had worse days"...
Kills me every time.
100% believe this should've been the series finale. It was the perfect ending for the brothers
Yep it should have never gotten past this time. It was sheer perfection. I refuse to watch any more past this point.
Particularly since it ends with the three of them walking off into the distance.
Yes I think this is where the show should have ended. I did watch the two episodes that came after, but they just weren't the same. The Trotters becoming Millionaires is where it should have been left.
I am sure that was the original plan

It doesn’t matter how often I watch this I love it all over again. Laughing and smiling fit to bust.
This, the chandeliers, the bar scene, and Trigger's Gandhi & broom scenes are lessons in comedy. One man wrote all of the episodes - incredible.
I suspect I'm not alone when I say that this should have been the final episode of Only Fools and Horses. I've nothing against the specials that came a few years later, but they weren't of the 42 carat standard of the fifteen years that came before.
Totally agree
A good friend and I were only saying this a couple of weeks ago in the pub. The fact it was taken from them is just too tragic!
Partly agree but in the end Rodney got daughter which is more valuable than a few quids
@@lukapajovic8209 very true
I agree, it should have ended there.
When Dave does the second faint, always cracks me up.
Cracked me up every single time Trigger called him Dave. Along with the fabulous line "if it's a boy, they're going to name it Rodney... after Dave" 🤣🤣
This scene will never stop being funny.
I've seen this clip over 300 times and it keeps getting funnier EVERY TIME I SEE IT 😅

It’s Rodney
@@scottmccash6188 look at the name of the poster.
John Sullivan had planned it all very well
When Rodney faints as well it’s just *chef kiss* good
Absolutely classic. One of the best moments ever.
just watched that clip again and still makes me laugh with tears brilliantly done
Has to be the best 4 minutes in the history of the cinema.
It wasn't a piece of cinema. But, ironically I still agree! :)
A piece of television history, magnificent ❤ should have left it there.

The man that wrote "only fools and horses" John Sullivan, truly was a genius, there will never be another like him more's the pity, RIP John.
Del boy and brothers Rodney Trotter in Victorian egg timer and pure comedy. 0:26
I wish I could go back to these times, these guys are so awesome, best comedy show ever made
Happiest day for all of Britain
LMAO
Nah its the BBC
@@Boilingfrogg Guess you're not a fan then
@TheOtherKine I was until it became way to politicised, the same with auvidasain pet. (Can't spell it)
this is probably my favorite and funniest scene on television, nothing will ever match David and Nicholas performances, especially in this scene
do you want to go first or shall I?????? that line gets me every time........
Espectacular 😂😂😂😂😂💖
My all time favourite episode/Moment!! 🎉❤
1:50 - Epic.
When Del Boy explain the moment he faints “It’s when he said 150,000 god, that’s when I came on real bad me” never fails to kill me 😂
I still shed a tear at this. In the same way as I do at the end of Blackadder and Dinnerladies.

I probably come back to watch this clip or other, longer clips which includes the aftermath once or twice a year.

Saw the special out of order, so thought for years it was last episode, so disappointing when found out I was wrong.
The van they get in after they were made millionaires lol

That is until Del and Rodney lose all their money in the episode If They Could See Us Now
Good idea. That way you’ll be laying your treasures in Heaven, with no dipstick thief trying to loot it
Well said man!
Being rich gives you choices.
Just great timeless , retired lifeboatmen
Scene should have ended with a yellow mini swiping their van.
a victorian egg timer

One day we will million airs 🤣👌brilliant
This is when the series ended for most fans, and rightly so.

Why was this series never put on in Spain?
yeaHhh
This is what us peasants dream of.
They could’ve carried on as rich plonkers but this was the ending needed. That said, I hated how Rodney acted being rich…just didn’t suit him. Del however was perfect once they got the money.
Where it should have ended as Millionaires as they dreamt it since episode 1,was not a fan of the Bankrupt Trotters trilogy they were piss poor

They should never have made anymore after this episode.
How did President Xi Jim ping get in the front row?
True ending. All episodes after this were crap.
