I assume you checked Numric Gun Parts? They can get almost anything vintage Winchester and stock new, used, and reproduction. I have 1892 manufactured in 1896 in 44-40 and they helped me out a bunch.
Looking great mate! 38-40 is an excellent cartridge, it actually outperforms 44-40.
Getting a headache just thinking about finding the cartridge for that baby. You must have the patience of Solomon.

Also, im pretty sure you can use a 44-40 cartridge guide as well, because the 38-40 is just a necked down version of the 44-40.
