I’d say the consensus among football wizards (including ex-player and ex-coach commentators and talking head sports guys) is that it’s a catch. The actual rule is not that black and white as to whether the ball touches the ground or not. It’s a little more nuanced than that. It also was reviewed. Now, on that hold … you’re right. But we all know how many times holds just don’t get called and that’s just part of 5he game. That’s also part of the reason players will risk committing them. Nussmeier was very impressive. Technicality in the rulebook. Its NOT holding if the defender makes a swim/rip move. That's the NFL rulebook, I can't find a source for college, but it would make sense if it's the same.
the "block in the back" by usc WR8 on the hole shot play at the end of the game, isnt in the back its clearly a push to the shoulder from the side,You can see the db fall sideways, if the play is still live thats called "A block" , that reciever has to block his guy after the ball is caught, probably a late whistle, and not a good look from Wr8 as it looks like he sees that the play is over, but no whistle, shove to the side shoulder, thats just a block. earlier in the game he got called for a crackback block, but Lsu ran the same play with the same block and no call, I dont see how you can get a crack back on a guy running straight to you. defender has to look were hes going. If its the rule its a bad one, crack back should be a defender running out fron center and up field with a block coming from upfield toward the center, because you dont have an opertunity to see the blocker, If your running toward the line of scrimmage and get blocked by some one in front of you, thats on you, weather you loose your cleats or not. I will also note that announcers almost always miss, that you can block down field on a pass behind the line of scrimmage, so often, as these announcers did they start talking about having to be running a route. like its a pick, its just not the case a receiver can block down field on a pass behind the line of scrimmage , because its a type of run play.
What the fuck was Sage Ryan doing on that play with that big catch? He literally defended no one on that play and let the receiver who made the catch run inside leading to a receiver being covered by a linebacker and safety.
those last 3 plays on offense before the field goal man. whole offense just shit down their legs man. moment was just too big for them. so damn disappointing.

Do you know how to spell "Fight On" ? Cuz you bought the Riley has a defense lie...which means you're as deluded as LSU fans. Another 400+ yards given up by a Riley defense against an average team you were tied with at the end of a boring game
@michaelhammond7115 Yes, LSU put over 400 yards, so did USC. But, LSU only scored 2 touchdowns. It is the points that matter, not how many yards are made. USC played a good game but not great. This is the first game of the season, so there will be mistakes. Deal with it.

I will also note that announcers almost always miss, that you can block down field on a pass behind the line of scrimmage, so often, as these announcers did they start talking about having to be running a route. like its a pick, its just not the case a receiver can block down field on a pass behind the line of scrimmage , because its a type of run play.
It is literally impossible for me to cover every single play
@@powerhourlsu Oh of course sorry I went on a tangent, but yeah you pointed out the first play I was talking about, nice breakdown, fun stuff
When it came down to it USC made the big plays to win the game, we gotta just move on from it
Great film study.....
🫡
Oh nonsense. .clean great catch. And a great throw.
Is that not what I said?
Anyone not like how coach at both notre dame and here lady does these fake tantrums, saying twice he’s mad and hitting the table. Feels like the 70’s where coach announces two
A days. Just stop and start coaching like you’re paid to do
U the man Carter
MACK!
"is he pressing into him and not turning to play the football? yes" but its not pass interference?? lmaoo he has his fucking head in his chest
Captain “F” Bomb strikes again
In!
WTF Was #6 chasing on the last play.
Followed the TE motion
What'd you say on USC J's podcast? We'd lose 9 out of 10 times or something?
I bet you HAD to do an hour and a half breakdown to understand this reality check lol
Shout out to Robert Woods!
How is that not leading w crown of helmet @1:08:08
Just keep replaying the '22 Bama game. That cost you $100 million.
How did 0 not make that play he waited on the WR to make a play
You seem to forget that I'm sure LSU did a lot of penalties that were not seen.
Ok like which ones Rick
This bone headed use of Harold Perkins just adds salt to our wounds.
LSU fans so slow it takes them 1h30m to break down why their coach sucks
Its funny how people complain when their team looses a game, certain calls should have been called😂 game over .Fight On SC
Thanks Johnny
Bro, it's like SC just got lucky and didn't intend for lsu players to make mistakes and capitalize off that, I thought that's what football is?
All good we saw who the real team is, not like we struggled with a fcs team lol
I don't understand how USC fans got a victim complex when I MOSTLY talked about the ridiculous plays they made in this game.
I have been consistent with this on here and Twitter. And I did two film reviews last week on how good your team was.
@powerhourlsu lol, ok now do one for SC with the same applications and the same can be said, simple. This wasn't a fair assessment, it was a bias one with some compliments that couldn't be avoided.
The refs were so shit this game. Obviously a block in the back on the punt and they were holding the entire game
So was lsu
Stop crying so was lsu especially the tackles
In a 4 point spread game, you take the 3 points. Duh
I love how depressed you sound 😂😂😂 #fighon
Do you know how to spell "Fight On" ? Cuz you bought the Riley has a defense lie...which means you're as deluded as LSU fans.
Another 400+ yards given up by a Riley defense against an average team you were tied with at the end of a boring game
@michaelhammond7115 Yes, LSU put over 400 yards, so did USC. But, LSU only scored 2 touchdowns. It is the points that matter, not how many yards are made. USC played a good game but not great. This is the first game of the season, so there will be mistakes. Deal with it.
@@theotherguy4478 you're the one that will have to deal with it. Keep lying to yourself as the "L's" pile up. Shoulda done your homework instead of anointing Riley as a great coach....great OC yes...but average coach
@@michaelhammond7115I mean only lsu has a L right now
@@dalelaubhan7566 can't lose til you play em....yes that's how it works. It's called football
SC Boy here. I think the difference was the Trojans had discipline. You can’t have P.I’s and targeting late in the game when it’s close and expect to win. LSU will be in the playoffs. The Tigers have too much talent. Only way they don’t make it is if they beat themselves.
Strong disagreement. I think the targeting made sense. The safety Gilbert knew he had to jar the ball loose or else the game was over. If anything, #8 Lane cheap shotting #8 LSU Burns was really dumb. Very lucky it wasn't a flag.
@@powerhourlsulot of stupid penalties lsu did, that lost them the game
42:23 illegal pick
52:46 fully spiraling now huh
1:14:25 another illegal pick play
1:28:21 quit crying
FOR THE BRAND BURRELL!!
That kid is VICIOUS
17:09 you sound really upset that that call was missed but you called a hold by the LSU wr a “good block” so I’ll take your tears with honey, please. Also, he attacked the shoulder, not his back, this not making it block in the back. He didn’t get both hands on back plate. FIGHT ON ✌🏾
You are literally the worst type of commenter. Every single one of your comments makes it sound like I have it out for USC. it’s very disingenuous.
@@powerhourlsu the tape runs for an hour; it’s right there recorded for the world to see. You gave usc some credit but you made mostly everything seem like it was luck. Well, ya needed some luck in Vegas cause you left with an L like EVERY tourist ever has
@@SaintTeejaye how do you come to that conclusion when I clearly state the incredible sportscenter plays they made? It might be hard for you to process, but good luck helps team win! Two things can be true at once.
BKs fake outrage is pathetic! Why did they stop passing? No run game again this year.
LSU is Southern Notre Dame University! Brian Kelley was the wrong hire.
Dont say he wrong man without saying who else dumb fools wanted napier see how that would work out
Who was the right one? I actually don't care for BK and think we suffered one les miles already don't need a 2nd one. But there's one coach that has a ring, that any fan base would want. Kirby ain't leaving. Dabo is washed and brown old as dirt. And Riley Is good for creating heismans but that's about it
You can throw . Joe borrow and Joe Brady would throw it. .. but Joe Brady let his nuts hang
All of this is irrelevant...
They didn't score in the red zone... Vanilla
lol lsu is trash
Good effort but not a catch.
Enjoy your breakdown. Man, we should’ve won.
bro you guys lost,.., lol
You act like a coaches meeting
Who has the chalk last
If I was Harlem Berry, I would seriously consider decommiting.
Why over 1loss he lost in high school guess he shoyld go to another school lol
Mr. McGrath out of allllll the overreaction I've seen since the game ended that might be the dumbest comment I've seen yet
Yall some fools no game perfect u can tell who never played football just sat on sofa eating chips
You can also tell who quit school after they failed English and Grammar
Michael, check your own spelling and grammar before correcting someone else's.
@@theotherguy4478 went right over your head ....didn't it noodles
@@michaelhammond7115 Check your spelling and grammar. Trying to sound smart while looking stupid. 🤣🤣🤣
@@michaelhammond7115You also can tell which guy is rather lame. You…
Why are u bitter. Too much bias and obviously u are an lsu fan so any penalty committed by lsu is an injustice. Lsu got lucky too and remember pac 12 teams are notorious for beating everyone.
This makes absolutely zero sense
Just disappointing!
