Video requests are welcome - if you’d like to see a particular skill that I’ve not yet shown then feel free to leave a comment. Anything from fire-building, friction fire, fire from natural materials, tinders, charring, wild edibles, plant identification, fungi/slime mold identification, medicinal plants, wilderness first aid and wound treatment, camp cooking, water filtration and purification, natural shelter building, shelter building with synthetic materials, navigation without a compass, improvised compasses, primitive weaponry, primitive trapping, gear reviews, survival kits and gear requests.
-------------------------------------
Just a tip, don't carry two compasses carry three. If you suspect ones failed, you'll never be able to tell which one is right. With three you'll be able to tell which one is different, it's unlightly two will fail. Thats why aircraft always have three.
he has three if you include the button compass mentioned early in the video , just an observation
And its not actually too hard to reference the sun/shadow for reference. At least if there is.. sun.
Very smart. Thanks.
you can use sun, moon and stars
A MAGNET AND NEEDLE ... STROKE THE NEEDLE AS IF YOU ARE PATTING A DOG .. , ONE WAY ONLY .. STICK THE NEEDLE IN A CORK , PUT IT IN WATER .. YOU HAVE A COMPASS ...
What a legend, informational and have a great sense of humour 👌😂
👌😂👌 💯
😂🤣😂😎✌️🏴
And you are not. You are a wanna be Asian and a wanna be American. Nothing on both sides...
I LOL'd several times, it's refreshing to hear someone swear in the woods for a change
I LOL'd several times, it's refreshing to hear someone swear in the woods for a change
Bro! I’m sure I speak for everyone here when I say we need your videos back!!! Climb back out of your survival cave and make a comeback 😇
I bloody love this channel. It's educational and hilarious at the same time 😂😂
you posted this on my birthday
When you say somthing morbid like "I bloody love this channel" do you mean to say you actualy bleed when you feel fond of this channel?
InsyberNaught Dude, you're obviously American or something... saying bloody before something doesn't literally mean its bleeding to any brits/Irish/others around there xD
MiiTCH insybernaught needs to watch more movies lol
Bloody is a UK swearword, often used for emphasis in the same way that "fucking" might (e.g. I fucking love this channel).
This has, by far, got to be the funniest survivalist video I've watched.
See Dan's Doritos firelighters video at Coalcracker Bushcraft - had me in tears...
They can be overly pompous especially the yanks...
“Next up, some morale boosters”
*opens box full of small baggies*
With white powder in it.
The best moral booster ever
one of those white powder baggies just has to be cocaine. or powdered pills of whatever.
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 this dude is the only survival guy on UA-cam that can crack a decent joke.
Okay, the pencil sharpener. I've been doing this for 2 decades, and I've never thought of something that simple. I'm a damned idiot. Thank you for that. Adding one to my kit...
pencil sharpner is a good idea.. but relies on finding sticks just the right diameter.. just as easy to use your knife or axe or machette to make kindling....
There are pencil sharpeners with two holes of different sizes available. Used one for years. It is not for making kindling, but for making tender. Break a small dead branch off a tree even in a rain storm. Peal off wet bark and what is left is a dry wood stick ready to be sharpened into tender.
damn brilliant idea
Best part is, you can swap the blades around when they get dull
@@NoOne-ul5fb tinder not tender. One is used in the initial phase of fire building, the other is a method of bidding for a paid project. Letters matter.
just stumbled upon your channel threw the mysterious youtube recommendations. i thought i would find a hermit living in the woods surviving on his own piss and animal dung for sustenance, but instead i found a comedic, knowledgeable lad with some good videos. Think i might stick around for a bit.
Same
+MrZimma frame lol and i found it in my recommendations too
Nice video. You may also want to checkout the review of survival kit on my blog at *alfredreviews. com/survival-kit-review/* Thanks, Bernardo.
Excellent Video! Apologies for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Lammywalness Your Dream Guide (should be on google have a look)? It is a great one off guide for discovering how to get a a FREE Edt multitool survival tool without the hard work. Ive heard some great things about it and my m8 at very last got great results with it.
epic
Great kit, also very funny. I enjoyed watching :)
I just love it how he smashes other preppers with that peanut-butter atthe end. They all use those MRE stuff... Jeez, this guy is real.
Love this young man's attitude! 😁 😁 Edit: it's 2019, and Alfie is still delighting us with his wit and knowledge, albeit a little more grown up! 😁
Thirsty cougar detected
quick and easy... just like my sexual performance ... you crack me up bro :D
+karffiol Keeping it real!!! :D
+karffiol eww
+sami gray and what was that "ewww" about?
Hahahaha I know I thought he was gonna be this guy in the middle of the woods living off nothing but instead he's the best comedian ever
Kudos for the video content! Apologies for butting in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you heard about - Lammywalness Your Dream Guide (erm, check it on google should be there)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for discovering how to get a a FREE Edt multitool survival tool without the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my buddy finally got cool success with it.
I love every single one of your videos. Perfect humor, and amazing setups
I typically come here for 1: the comedy and 2: the knowledge. Also you're exactly right. Without a good or at least decent night's sleep you'll be worthless in the wilderness
you need your own TV show!
Melissa Smith he means well, god keep him, cheers from teXas -- rr 😁
You sir have the gift of gab. Straight forward easy lessons and funny. Great channel. Keep it up.
I usually avoid SHTF/Bugout gear vids, (way too much political ideology and gear/weapon fetishes!) but this is clearly not one of those. Your vid is packed with useful, well-presented info; and your good sense of humor made this a very enjoyable watch. Thank you!
haha. You are hilarious!! I love your witty little comments here and there. This is all great info. Thanks for sharing.
6:22 "it makes you wanna punch a tree, right in the face"😂😂😂😂 this guy!😂😂😂
A bag of sugar, a bag of coffee, another bag of coffee, another bag of sugar, don't know why i expected the last one to be cocaine instead of salt tho :)
+John Foley same here. Have you all ever done coke?? Remembering little baggies of white stuff? Alternatively know as fun in a bag.
Its all Coke mate
He forgot the bag of weed
@@cafetyria3656
I SWEAR the last little baggie was gonna have enough for a couple of blunts in it, Ha ha ha .
T As *You want some?* ;D
the Pencil Sharpener is a fantastic idea I will be using that one thanks
the amount of humor and how relaxed and quickly you covered everything just got u a subscriber
I'm not even into survival, and you made this list of your gear really interesting and entertaining. You did a great job. Thank you!
I think I would have added a couple of trashbags. Normal and heavy duty. Doesn't weigh anything and doesn't take a lot of space. And very multi functional. But I guess it all is personal preference. Cheers Mark.
each kit should be personalized to each persons preferences and skill... but this video is still good for people who dont know where to start....also my kit would have electrical tape too... its versital.. waterproof "mostly..but even duct tape will fail eventually" and electrical tape also works good as bandage material too.. specially if you need to seal a cut on a finger...way easier than using duct tape on fingers.. knowing me id have 1 roll duct tape and 2 rolls electrical..
Haha love the jokes and the showmanship. You just got a like, a new subscriber and I'm just about to watch all your videos haha!
Brilliant! Great delivery and a refreshing departure from the usual monotone ramblings.
Love the quips too!
Best gear layout ever!! Covered all the bases explained every item and the commentary had me laughing my ass off!! Outstanding!!
Mate, cracking video. Spot on with the kit too.
Alex
Most survivalists/bushcrafters/Jeremiah Johnson wannabes take the subject, and themselves, way too seriously. Thankfully, Alfie can't be counted among them. Who would have thought that one could laugh out loud during a SHTF video? You have a new subscriber, Alfie.
The "tactical scary black" @10:01 got me. Hilarious. 😂
I appreciate your self effacing sense of humor. Awesome vids. Thanks for sharing.
Very entertaining narration.
More cord in tactical scary black! Lol
This, this right here. Every human should watch this. Could come in handy and, you can laugh as we laugh at epic humor!
Pithy, sharp, edgy, funny and seems genuine. I'm subbed. Loved that accent. I want more.
very well thought out kit alfie,
kit should be tailored to the individual
i agree - hacksaw blades strike better than straight edge
keep em comin bro ;)
funkyprepper ka-bar dogs head or USMC??
Dude!! I shit you not! But that has been the best no nonsense instructional video I have ever seen! I commend you totally!
Enjoyed your video as much as your humor and colorful language. Most informative and practical.
I'm 16 and I do indeed love this bag. I have very similar stuff in my bug out bag however I can complain about one thing you lack and that would be a surplus of first aid.. I have a ton of it and I'm sure it will come in handy one day. I need to add some items that you've displayed such as the coffee pent butter and sugar. Thank you for the video. Good stuff man
OH MY...I couldn't stop laughing after your compensation comment...very funny...excellent delivery and timing man!!! Still teared up from laughing.
I had to sub man...seriously!!! Great stuff!!!
You had me crying laughing " damn headphone wires" your a trip. thanks
Outstanding. Education, humor is top notch! You need to be on the telly.
You could also use the container, that you hold the stuff in, as a container
i like the humour added into the video
I just found your channel and I have to say.... Youre the best motherfucking survival channel on this god damn website
It's a shame he's dead.
He's not dead
+Survival Leo Uk i know
Dude you're a real character lollllll. The commentary is what makes it unusual. Guy is informed and a bit nutty.
I have found that those little cheap steel wire picture hanger kits can be modified so easy into snares and they usually only cost like a buck or two, I've got five in my get home bag now. They aren't great for extended use though because they will eventually start to rust but in a pinch, they can save your bacon!
the way you talk reminds me of the movie Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels you're the man
I love your videos man. Thanks so much for making learning fun.
There are no wasted movements or words in your videos, so clear and concise. Relevant information.
I'm a fan for sure.
Lee H.
damn you would survive an apocalypse
PapaPablo no guns though
@@issacarellano9909 Check his other videos, he has guns for days
Cryonixx which
If there's an actual apocalypse why would you want to live, lol
The pencil sharpener is a nice idea, but they take only rather small sticks. There are special ones available for Carpenters pencils. If you take out the rotating insert, you can feed 14mm-sticks in. Nice consistant shavings, no featherstick-skills required. They come with a tiny sharpening stone glued to the body - may work for touching up your blades too.
I never carry nail clippers - instead I use a sapphire file, break off the handle and round the back with a Dremel diamond wheel, - works as a sharpener as well, if you keep it wet (cold).
Your sense of humor if fricking hilarious dude. Keep it up
Hey Im a girl and I love your videos!! so its not just for the bros!
Gotta love the rat traps - even thinking like an Aussie well done
Most entertaining survival channel hands down
The best part of this guy is he is smart as hell, funny as hell and a great survivalist.
I'm very curious, what gloves do you use? I've been watching a bunch of your videos hoping you'd mention them, but to no avail. I like your gloves and would like to get myself a pair. Thanks! -Luke
Carl The Llama4 PU/Nitrile Coated Gloves
+Griffyn Makene Theres this stuff called toilet paper. it works surprisingly well
+get off my lawn Those of us that grew up with Wesley Snipes and Sylvester stallone knows that The There Sea Shells or if need be a swearing ticket is the way to go.
+Jim Rasch That works too. Im just saying toilet paper can easily be packed in when considered preparation, then again a bare hand can do the same if you have nothing to lose lol
+AlfieAesthetics Hi Alfie, thanks for the video - I just have a couple of questions. When you talk about your knife, you mention the craft that you do in the woods - I was wondering what type of craft is it that requires you to spend so much time in the wilderness - is it related to your job, or just a hobby? Also, why don't you carry any multi-tools? They don't take up that much space and can be used for many different things. Thanks.
I cannot stop laughing. I am learning so much but laughing my ass off as you rip off these comments. Dude you are wonderfully funny and talented. Thanks for making this a wonderful learning experience.
Haven't had the luxury of seeing online in quite a long time young brother, but you still have a way with the English Language, God Bless You. Paul
Bro, you are a fucking genius. You know how to keep the videos not too long or too short and right to the point. And also you combine humor which cracks me up in your videos, thanks
I wish i was you with a super awesome survival kit
Stijn Visser u r with him, just focus ... god is all knowing 😊
morale boosters ? I was waiting for the bag of weed
+DENMONKEY Sugar, Salt? riiiiight, whatever you say haha
im pretty sure i saw his stash of hash oil.
+DENMONKEY how about as pack of cigarettes?
+matanuska high timestamp please
+DENMONKEYwow
Great humor mate. Brilliant idea with the pencil sharpener.
Fantastic. Well presented. Enjoyed every minute of it.
LOL this was brill and useful.
i must've gone through an entire gallon of tea watching all your videos XD
Hey bro! Surely add a flexible bandage or compressed gauze to your kit. In case you get a big cut its gonna help a lot. Duct tape isn't gonna stop the bleeding. compressed gauzes are tiny and in the woods an absolute nessecity in case of emergency.
O and just add a karabiner. Always usefull
This absolutely cracked me up - love this
"the reasons i have this knife
earned my sub. great vid bro.
Alfie, my brother from another mother... you ROCK Dude!! Your information is top notch with knee slapping comedy as a cherry on top!
I'm ex forces and thought this would be a bit naff, but actually this guy knows his onions. Very entertaining and practical info, and NOT American nonsense 'HOO-HAAAA'. Nice one.
Man this is my first time see n Ur vid...I'm already smile n due to Ur jokes...but when U pulled out the rat trap talk n bout ..Put n it at someone's tent open n....I died laff n....U bout got it all covered tho..Nice job
i dont even care about this stuff, hes just funny af
You are so down to earth dude, I like that a lot. Good video.
Love how u say the things i would like to say when watching these videos
Great setup. +1 for having it broken up into tiers depending on what the situation demands.
Add a small packet of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) to your "morale booster" pack: 1/4 tsp salt + 1/4 tsp bicarb + 2 tablespoons sugar per litre of boiled water is the ideal electrolyte replacement mix.
Also needs more coffee :P
I carry No-Doz caffeine tablets in my survival kit - I know what I'm like with caffeine deprivation in the safety of my own home, no desire whatsoever to experience it while surviving in the bush.
YMMV, of course.
Fully agree on having a comfortable night's sleep. You can't survive properly if you're fatigued all the time. I have an inflatable ultra light Exped Down Mat, packs up smaller than my sleeping bag, including the little pump that comes with it. Rated to -12 degrees Celsius so even if the ground is freezing, I'm not going to lose any body heat to it.
Really enjoyed the video. Definitely adding a pencil sharpener to my survival kit.
"I need to compensate for having a small dick" haha! Finally someone admits it. :)
Lmao best survival channel out there tbh. Simultaneously hilarious and informative lol. Atta be buddy. Keep me coming!
I use an airsoft mag drop pouch attached to my belt for collecting nicks and knacks on my walk to camp and during camp. Tinder or various bush foods. It's pretty good because the inside is in two parts so can be turned inside out like a pocket to clean, and is mostly water proof.
Fenrir dude that is smart
very cool, better than most amerikan preppers with the always so serious attitude when speaking i wouldn't mind someone like you along for the end of the world if just for the comical conversations
"Quick and easy...like my sexual performance." lol Subscribed!
me too :)
Nice comments-without-interruption ^^
Lot of info in a short amount of time =]
You should carry at least 100’ of paracord in all of your kits. The inner strands can be used as fire tinder, thread, fishing line, suture material, shelter, attaching your blade to a staff to make a spear, making a bow string for hunting wild game, and even shoe/boot laces.
love your humor thums up
its spelled thumbs
its spelled thumbs
+Damien Scully "its" spelled it's. :)
What are your gloves?
You have the best survival info channel period..keep it up
i have been thoroughly entertained, when the baloon comes up, i shall be enroling you into the bug out team, if not for the skills, definetly the banter
Have you considered using powdered peanut butter to cut down on weight. Idk if they have that in the UK but the grocery store in which I work in VA has two different kinds.
yeah and you can add it to things. like those noodles you are always making. people around here add them to smoothies.
AlfieAesthetics Hi Alfie, Love your channel, and you may have replaced Paul Stamets as my fungi guru. I purchased my powdered peanut butter off Amazon. It's called PB2, just add water. Cheers from San Diego, California.
I carry 6 cakes of pemmican, it don't weigh much and It's enough to get me by for quite a while especially if I am foraging, trapping or fishing along the way.
We have similar kits except I do not carry a small pocket system. I carry my daypack in a canvas messenger pouch. I carry my large kit in a canvas back pack. I will tie my wool blanket onto my pack, or if I am carrying the messenger bag I carry the blanket on a strap across the opposite shoulder.
Joey Burdine is the weight of real PB worth the calories vs having less weight of PPB... I guess you could drink it down with water like a smoothie
www.thekitchn.com/whats-the-deal-with-powdered-peanut-butter-ingredient-intelligence-201059
Joey Burdine Interesting idea. Heard some things about powdered horse milk that the Mongols used- that & aaruul (kind of like hard yogurt candy).
I cant find the Becker BK7

Excellent! I can see you put a lot of thought into your gear. That you exercised your gear proves its value.
ALFIE During my 10 years Career in The USAF PJS
I had to RE Qualify 3 Times

But Even my Long Time Squad

Just a bit of Added Advice, I
Would leave the nice Watch at

FANTASTIC Video! I will be
L👀King Forward to New Vids.
nice lay out man but I must say I was a little disappointed. You didn't follow the common pattern of most all other survival pack videos on youtube, where a 15 minute video consist of 14 minutes describing the bag in detail and 1 minute rushing through the same old stuff that everyone else has. Next time take the almost the entire video talking about your bag and then your gear in the last few seconds and you will probably get more views and like as that seems to be the general pattern anyway
I completely disagree
i was expecting him to say a bag of weed
and a bag of coke
" A bag of weed, a bag of weed, oh everything is better with a bag of weed!"
I've watched a few of this guy's videos now. Not only is he insightful, he's hilarious. *subscribe*
You can never have too much, "scary tactical black stuff"
Nice kits and practical items. Well done mate. 👍
45 seconds in and that joke made me laugh so hard I farted.

+leonardo1480 I have the AM/FM/WB La Crosse radio ! The radio is powered by three AA batteries, has a light, external power input and extendable antenna. About $40.00 USD from Target, Sportsman Warehouse and on line. Great back up for a two-way radio and/or cell phone. tjl

Hahaha he is humorous and very wise. I just found the channel, love it. Thank you.
Not even halfway through the video and I’m already lovin this guy! You’re gear is very practical which I like a lot. Not to mention I’ve done laughed a good 3 or 4 times. Will definitely continue to follow your videos!
You only really need a one person tent. If you and a buddy go out he brings his own goddam tent
If you and a gf go out. Just use the same sleepin bag eh?
army used to have an interesting tent setup... of course they trained using the buddy system.. either way each person carried half a tent.. stakes included... they were a pain in the arse to setup sometimes.. but worked pretty damn good.... and if you were the odd man out .. well depended on the unit.. you either had to carry 2 tent halves or shack up with 2 other dudes.. or get smart enough to find a way to use 1 half tent as a whole tent... either way.. the tent/shelter system you use is up to how much do you want to lug around..how comfortable you want to be.. how well you handle small spaces.. and how big your wallet is....
Until she steals the fucking blanket.
