We consider ladybugs good luck where I'm from. I grew up with ladybugs all in my grandmother garden (may she RIP) they were red with black dots and we used to pick them up and put them back in the garden on leaves or on the tree bark if we found them on the ground so nobody would step on them. They never bit me once.
They ARE good luck if you have a garden or farm! Ladybugs are predators. They save your garden from aphids, mites and the like. Basically living pest control.
@@Ron_Jambo_ Asian beetles are evil, black cats are simply unlucky, based on supersition. These asian "lady beetls" are the REAL DEAL. Think they are eating aphids? @@ethzzexists I would guess that I am much older than you? The Ladybird book company was founded in 1867 and the Ladybird has always been its trademark since then and so the term Ladybird, relating to that insect, has been used for more than many decades even before my birth as well as the advent of Ladybird Books. There is also a rhyme, 'Ladybird, Ladybird, fly away home, your house is on fire, your children all gone.' This also predates the Ladybug term by many years. I have no issue with the term Ladybug, but this is an Americanism that has become more prevalent in relatively recent times, probably due to many American films, TV and cartoon programmes. Not to be a nitpick, but they aren’t necessarily the best unless you have a severe aphid problem. I was always gentle when it comes to ladybugs/ladybeetles, butterflies, spiders, etc so I have experience from ladybugs/ladybeetles biting me and I'll never touch them ever again after that but I will get a cup to put them in so I can take them outside where it's warm and nice for them
They don’t do it often, but they can. They ARE predators of other insects, after all. They have to have a little bit of force behind their bite. Generally when upset, they force hemolymph (insect blood) out of their joints. If a ladybug has ever left yellow goo on you, that’s what this is. It has a mix of bad-smelling and bad-tasting compounds that can make the mouth numb and even stain your clothes, and usually that’s enough to get a threat to back off.

Friendliest? Look it up at your own risk but asian beatles literally invade animals to bite in and hide in the roof of their maw. Like some dogs has dozens of them just chilling, causing major discomfort.
Ladybeetles are carnivorous insects. They may bite people, but only as a warning mechanism, it should do nothing more than sting just a tiny bit. I say that, but there is a non-zero chance that any given person could have a more serious reaction. ... All that said, don't kill them, they're pollinators too; give them some meat (they like pork for some reason), and let them pollinate your indoor garden. Not a bad trade off.
Kids have played with them since time immemorial and their mandibles are not even strong enough to break human skin in the first place. I'm sure you'll be fine.
In my experience, these Asian ladybugs, which are larger and more round than American ladybugs, bite much more readily. I can never recall EVER being bitten by an American ladybug, but have been by the Asian ones: last Tuesday. A couple of times. I was walking in a state park in the Loess Hills in Iowa. A few of the little bastards landed on me and bit me! And it hurt! I think they mean to draw blood.
Y'know, I've been scooping up both kinds of ladybugs out of my room daily for several weeks now, and not a single one has tried to bite me! They've just chilled on my hand til I brought them outside, then they flew off! (The reason I dont let them stay inside is because I got a bunch of garden spiders in my room, I dont want them to get eaten. And before yall say anything, the spiders still have a mega ton of other bugs to eat, we just have an accord. They keep my room clear of bugs, especially mosquitos, and dont bother the ladybugs, and they get to stay as long as they want, and will be protected from any attempted smushings.)
Ladybugs bite? Really? I remember holding a literal handful of them during my time in school recess. So they were biting me this whole time? My palm was incredibly yellow now that i think about it. But kid me thought that these bugs pee my hand.
Please don't kill ladybirds! As far as I know, they got their name by her Holiness the Lady Mary (Mother Mary) herself. Having them around will bring you Luck and Peace! And if they should "bug" you by numbers...take them to the nearest garden, they will take care of it.
When I was a kid, under 5 years old by a year or so, I strictly remember I came into my room one day and the entirety of my window was covered in ladybugs. Both sides, the top, everything, all ladybugs. I don't remember how we got rid of them since I was so young, but that memory has stuck with me for a very long time, and I know it happened cause even my parents confirmed it.
I once went to Canada, and it was my first time seeing those lady beetles (was on a rented house for a few nights) - they never gave me problems, even allowed me to handle them.
Ladybugs used to be my favorite insect because they look so beautiful and cute until one day at a mustard field, I was picking flowers, and one landed on me and bit me. I couldn't believe it as I thought they didn’t bite. I've been bitten by at least 10 of them in my life.
I remember my college Christian club used to go to a retreat camp in the fall season and the chapel that was there had ladybugs EVERYWHERE because it was the warmest place. They never bit though.
I've had plenty of ladybugs in my hand, I've seen some doing what I may have perceived as biting. Couldn't even break skin, or cause pain. I barely felt it.
When I was a kid I would play near bushes where lady bugs were abundant. I played with them and always felt little nips and pokes but I didn't know they were biting me because someone told me they don't bite. I always assumed it was the bushes but looking back on it. Im sure it was ladybugs biting me since I'd catch them and let them crawl on my arms.
Once, I thought these were ladybugs so I let it go on my hand.Little did I know, these are not ladybugs.I let it go on my hand.I thought it was cute but then it bit me.I figured out they have VERY painful bites.I was in Tennessee for a vacation,so I hope they don’t come back to where I live!
In January 2019, I found a ladybug. Her/his leg was crooked so I took it for care. After 3 years, it tragically died. I was so devasted but it was something I need to let go off. 5 years later I found another ladybug and is growing in the same box that my other one died in.
the house that I grew up in had a problem with those things. My windows werent fitted tight....it was a prefab home from the 60's and nothing was upgraded. They would make their way into my house through the windows and would migrate to the corners of my bedroom in particular. :58 is not quite as bad as what my corners looked like, but there were huge groups like that and I got bit while I was just laying in bed. I guess its "misinformation" if you only read about them and never experience them.
It's really misinformation because they're not really aggressive at all, like the video says they have that ability and more so if you go out of your way or you get into their space, and like he said if they get into your house seeking refuge they will consider that their space so there's a greater chance of them biting you, in my case that never has happened to me, I've seen some ladybugs though not many when I was at my school and I did try touching them and tried making them climb unto my hand, but they never bit me nor did I see them bite any of my classmates when they were trying the same thing, so I didn't even know until recently that they could actually bite
Some of those varieties of beetles have been brought over to North America to act as a natural pesticide, most recently in the 1980s. They are now considered an invasive species. The continent was never meant to have as many as we do now.
I used to ride horses when I was younger, and one day while attending a lesson there was a MASSIVE swarm of them in the arena, I’m talking literal thousands!!! They’ve always been a big fear of mine but I had NO idea they could bite until that day.. there were so many crawling into my jacket, shirt, and jeans and they ended up biting me all over. No one in my family has believed me that they bite, sadly. And it’s literally just a google search away 😭
I doubt a lady bug even has the ability to pierce your skin with a bite so u most likely wouldnt even feel it like a daddy long spider they bite also but there fangs arnt long anuff to go thru human skin
Didn’t know ladybugs bite. I feel like all kids play with them in the spring time. Pretty much the only insect I allow to crawl on me lmao never been bit. But it makes sense they can. Roaches also don’t bite people often but they certainly can so I believe it
I've never been bitten by an American Ladybug which are fairly docile, I do however know that other breeds can be more aggressive. Ladybugs only eat aphids, Ladybeetles eat ladybugs also and look very similar to ladybugs in most cases. Sorta like the African Honey Bee compared to an American Honey Bee, both sting, but American Honey Bees won't just do it for no reason unless you disturb them by swatting at them or their next, you can generally let them climb around on you and never need to worry about getting stung or bit... African Honey Bees will sting or bite you simply for getting too close to them or their hive, they are highly aggressive and are known to destroy other bee species hives, they will also chase you for up to 12 miles trying to sting and bite you to death to defend their hive... My favorite are Carpenter Bees and Bumble Bees. The big fat black ones that fly like they are broken because they are actually breaking the laws of physics just by flying and can be super intimidating but won't attack you even if you swat at them. 😅 They are the two most docile bee types.
Beatle bugs in my area are a invasive species. I remember one year dad torn down the old smoke house at my grandmas old place (she passed it onto us) and EVERYTHING was infested with beatlebugs and it was realy bad. Like every time we visited the area many beatlebugs would be in our car bad
This is exactly my responds. I was like “wait ladybugs bite?” I also don’t know if I believe they bite or not cause I also let them crawl on my palm of my hand
I don’t know about anyone else but everyone in my family calls the orangeish ones “corn bugs” likely because after the corn is harvested they spring up and absolutely reek havoc on our home.
They CAN, though generally they seem to avoid it. Reportedly though it can hurt if they do it. I’m not surprised. They’re predators after all. Ladybugs often use ‘reflex bleeding’ to deter predators…if you’ve ever gotten yellow or orange goo on yourself handling one, that’s their hemolymph (basically insect blood). It smells bad, and the chemicals in it make it evidently taste horrible and leave a sort of numbing sensation in the mouth. Thats them saying “I’m gross and injured, you don’t want to eat me.”

I was riding my horse on Thursday and got bitten by one.
Wow thankyou for giving me this awareness
0:50 On the top corner, you can see a beetle bug. That looks like it has a big shell a big black shell
They keep my room clear of bugs, especially mosquitos, and dont bother the ladybugs, and they get to stay as long as they want, and will be protected from any attempted smushings.)
your place sounds lit
@@aboxinspace It is, most days. But it becomes significantly less lit when a wasp gets in my room 🫠
Vacuum Ladybugs!! It'll be like an alien 👽 abduction for them😂
Win-win!
Xd
bro thinks he paying rent💀💀
Those suckers bite, when they get thirsty, I got bit twice. I acted a fool.😅😂
MONEY💀 0:01
It's a ladybug and not a crab the editors need to think

Where
i've never seen more than 2 Ladybugs in the same place wtf
Remember when Dennis Leary did the voice of the ladybug in a Bug’s Life?
Still funny 🤣🤣🤣
But of course! ^_^
No wonder twilight sparkle drspises ladybugs 💀
When I was a kid, under 5 years old by a year or so, I strictly remember I came into my room one day and the entirety of my window was covered in ladybugs. Both sides, the top, everything, all ladybugs. I don't remember how we got rid of them since I was so young, but that memory has stuck with me for a very long time, and I know it happened cause even my parents confirmed it.
I once went to Canada, and it was my first time seeing those lady beetles (was on a rented house for a few nights) - they never gave me problems, even allowed me to handle them.
I love your informational videos so much man. ❤️🔥
Ladybugs used to be my favorite insect because they look so beautiful and cute until one day at a mustard field, I was picking flowers, and one landed on me and bit me. I couldn't believe it as I thought they didn’t bite. I've been bitten by at least 10 of them in my life.
Bruh what was the "Ha Ha. MONEY!" 🤣
Have you not watched idksterling before??!
@@tristan7008 bro i have and its in every single video 😭😭😭😭
I remember my college Christian club used to go to a retreat camp in the fall season and the chapel that was there had ladybugs EVERYWHERE because it was the warmest place. They never bit though.
Didn’t even know ladybugs could bite. They come in every winter and we just leave them be as they are usually gone by spring
I've had plenty of ladybugs in my hand, I've seen some doing what I may have perceived as biting.
Couldn't even break skin, or cause pain.
I barely felt it.
Bro really hates lady bugs🤣
If you had those things infest your home, you'd hate them too.
Sounds like you never had ASIAN ladybugs.
my grandparents had the same issue a couple of weeks ago its just them trying to stay warm
For a second I thought the ladybug was a little baby tomato
Lol
When I was a kid I would play near bushes where lady bugs were abundant. I played with them and always felt little nips and pokes but I didn't know they were biting me because someone told me they don't bite. I always assumed it was the bushes but looking back on it. Im sure it was ladybugs biting me since I'd catch them and let them crawl on my arms.
🎅🎅💵 never gets old
Most bugs that can bite, will bite. But that doesn’t mean they are all aggressive. Just like humans.
Bro really said: 🎅🎅💴
mr crab is also here
Once, I thought these were ladybugs so I let it go on my hand.Little did I know, these are not ladybugs.I let it go on my hand.I thought it was cute but then it bit me.I figured out they have VERY painful bites.I was in Tennessee for a vacation,so I hope they don’t come back to where I live!
0:56 mmm crunchy *steps on it*
In January 2019, I found a ladybug.
I've played with ladybugs as a child and now me and my son have played with them in our garden, never have I ever been bitten by a ladybug 🐞 😂
I have played with ladybugs for years, and allowed them to call me.
I have no idea about Asian Ladybirds, but here in Dixie, they are harmless.
I pick up lady bugs all the time and have never been bitten. I didn’t even know they could bite! My middle name is literally ladybug in Spanish
Never when i pick one up they bit me. They're just going turtle mode and pee themselves to scare you off
I doubt a lady bug even has the ability to pierce your skin with a bite so u most likely wouldnt even feel it like a daddy long spider they bite also but there fangs arnt long anuff to go thru human skin
Didn’t know ladybugs bite. I feel like all kids play with them in the spring time. Pretty much the only insect I allow to crawl on me lmao never been bit. But it makes sense they can. Roaches also don’t bite people often but they certainly can so I believe it
There bites don't hurt and they also eat germs ladey bugs are cute. I had one as a friend as a kid it lived almost a mounth
I remember the actual ladybugs. Two perfect big black spots on their back.
I’ve seen these in my childhood but after moving to a newer home I don’t see them anymore.
Grew up with these things all around my house and I'm fine
Who else thought of the game Grounded? I love their “pigeon coos” when they sleep lol! 😂❤
Me if i see a ladybug:ooh ladybug:o go to nature :) -casually puts the ladybug outside and leaves-
I remember counting them on the ceiling in a house I lived on as a kid. Lol There were many of them. Sometimes I had nightmares about them lol
Imagine getting bit by a ladybug cause it thinks it owns ur house and room now
Bro really said "THIS HOUSE IS MINE👹👹"
Beatle bugs in my area are a invasive species. I remember one year dad torn down the old smoke house at my grandmas old place (she passed it onto us) and EVERYTHING was infested with beatlebugs and it was realy bad. Like every time we visited the area many beatlebugs would be in our car bad
Wtf?? Ladybugs bite?? I let them crawl on me all of the time and have never once been biten... so I'm not sure I believe this.
This is exactly my responds. I was like “wait ladybugs bite?” I also don’t know if I believe they bite or not cause I also let them crawl on my palm of my hand
Never knew ladybugs could bite. I've picked them up all the time and never had this happen.
I don’t know about anyone else but everyone in my family calls the orangeish ones “corn bugs” likely because after the corn is harvested they spring up and absolutely reek havoc on our home.
As an Asian the only moment I remember about ladybug in my childhood was when I put them on my hand and they gave me their poo
I remember when sometimes I would get home from school and my house was PACKED with ladybugs like everywhere on the outside
Wait, ladybugs Bite?! I used to collect em and put ‘em in a box until recess was over 😭
I learned something new. I've never been bitten. I remember seeing them be different colors- red, yellow, orange and green ones.
I am 55 and we have ladybugs here every year. Not a single one has ever bitten me and we let them crawl on our hands as kids all the time.
They always appear in my house in October. They are crawling all over the building's walls, you can see them from a distance.
