CWD is really scary and I have great empathy for any deer that has this. Me and my family hunt every october and it can be a really fun experience, but I couldn't imagine coming across a deer with CWD that would ruin my day.
CWD is in the same family as BSE also know as mad cow disease which destroyed the UK cattle industry back in the 1990s. Consuming infected meat can in rare cases trigger Creutzfeldt Jakob disease in humans which is a pretty awful way to die so if the deer is behaving strangely, don't eat it.
