So what do you think - is the Seat Ibiza too much for the Fiesta to handle, or does the Ford still reign supreme?
From what Rebecca's saying, sounds like the Ibiza is somewhat underpowered, or that the chasis could take more power (with it's class leading handling in the corners). Dunno, I kinda like the Ibiza more now that it looks like a Leon. Maybe this would be worth getting for tuning. Then it might be more of a rival for the likes of the Fiesta?
I test drove both and preferred the Ibiza. It's roomier, especially in the back and I liked the Ibiza's infotainment unit over the Fiestas. The Ford's unit looks like it's been stuck onto the dash rather than being a part of it. I ordered the Ibiza FR Sport.
Just had an Ibiza Xcellence 1.0 turbo... not underpowered in the slightest... scratchy plastics don’t bother me as they have to keep the price down somehow. Best value for money in the class by far!
Drove both back to back; the Fiesta's manual box was nothing to write home about and the handling was fair, on the level on a Hyundai i20. With the Ibiza, I didn't want to return it when it was time for that, I just wanted to go drive more. It's absolute fun to drive, goes exactly where you point it, and the manual box is excellent. After driving pretty much all the current cars in this segment, there genuinely is no competition for the Ibiza.

This was a lovely review. I appreciated how you found a balance between saying trivial things and providing too many technical infos (of which too many journalists don't know nothing about, and do nothing to hide it).

Would highly recommend the 1 litre fr. an absolutely brilliant all round car
I Own this car with the 1.0l engine with 115hp. In my opinion it lacks the extra power the 1.5L gives. The 1.0l is just that bit too slow

And yes, I went for the Ibiza because it looks sooo much better than the Fiesta which is a car that let you feel...well, a couple of years older than in the Seat. If you're feeling young, you simply HAVE to choose the Ibiza instead.
115bhp fr model is an absolute dream to drive, in the metallic red it looks just stunning especially with the upgraded alloys

Shooting on a new camera? Looks good, but focus is off quite often. Looks full frame... Also at 3:45 I can see odd reflections, as if you're shooting through glass. Skin color looks odd... it's a Sony, isn't it?
Looks like no one bought the 1.5 engine. Not available new anymore and only 2 available used on auto trader
Have one. Same colour and engine and specs. Extra dual zone ac, rear parking sensor, armrest, auto wipers and headlamps . And also they unlocked some of other hidding features

Have the 95 HP Engine Ibiza Style with 16'' Wheels, LED Headlights, in Midnight Black, 2-Zone Climaautomatic, Seat-Heating, 8'' Media System Plus,..such a good Car...definitely recommended 👍🏻👍🏻

Why do people put their feet on the transmission tunnel when they sit on the middle seat in the back? Ofcourse it will feel small and cramped. I live in Sweden and I have never seen a Swedish person sit like that. We put our feet in the other footwells, One on each side. I remember a few years ago when we got some foreign People as guests and when they got into the back of the car the person in the middle put her feet on the transmission tunnel. I thought it was soooo weird. It looked like she was sitting in a small box instead of a Škoda Superb.

Why didn't you just open the door at 3:40? It's a minor detail but the footage appears to be filmed from outside the car, you can see the window reflections.

I recommend the 1.0 Turbo In FR Trim as It features a larger Infortainment Screen
you can have the big screen on every trim except the base reference. It's about how much worth faux leather-padding with red stitches is for the owner.

Yes it undoubtedly is. They have messed up with the manual rear windows and the fake exhausts but that's it.
No lumbar support? WTH. In a new car...I once didn't buy a 1 series because it lacked lumbar support and after 10min driving it the back pain set in. After an hour, I never wanted to sit in the car again. (also happened with a Qashqai).
I never use the support in my VW Eos and never missed it in the Ibiza. I feel uncomfortable with a "thing" squeezing my back.
So the fiesta is more of a drivers car whilst this is more insulating from the road?

That's what's good about it. The Polo has lost all its identity and the old Ibiza wasn't exactly attractive.

This car really is more than enough to be a daily driver of any person. 1 litre turbo petrol puts any diesel to rest, apart from mpvs of course.
Er, no. It doesn't. I mean the engine. At 140 my 1.4 TSI consumes as much as a similarly powerful 2.0 TDI (in the same car) at 180-200. At lower speeds consumption of the 2.0 will be even lower. Those things are frugal as hell. You really need to treat those small turbocharged petrol engines with a feather in order to get good FC, and even then, a diesel will still do better.

Different markets perhaps. Remember this is a British channel. Seat may have chosen not to offer the diesel to the UK.

Can it be better than a Fiesta, in terms of quality and refinement; absolutely no. But lets be honest Ibiza is spacious as a Leon.

Drove the Ibiza Fr and Fiesta St Line. Bought the St Line. Better Interior, better looks,... Ibiza was only better in interior space. Interior quality is cheap on the Ibiza

This car looks really puny in stance and cheap in real life. I would go for a nearly new previous gen Fiesta 125 ecoboost. Forget about the infotainment, it's a car. Hook up your mobile phone and you have everything you want.
