Downsides: 1 obviously lack of power from that small engine. 2 breaking not great due to rear drums instead of discs. 3 The S&S system stoped working after two years - now works very rarely. Done me a favour cause it's bloody annoying but nevertheless not ideal.

Picked up my FR Business Intense last friday! Love it, except the adaptive cruise control in eco or normal mode. If you´re driving in fifth gear, it doens´t pick up speed whatsoever when the car in front moves over.
Why has it become a thing that we now consider any softtouch materials a luxury feature? Even £6k new hatchbacks from the 80-90s period would have full softtouch or fabric doors linings, dashboard, glove compartment lid. Now we're paying twice as much for cars with brittle, rattly horrible plastic.
The funny thing is he mentions that the door sound while closing makes the car sound cheap, the thing is modern car doors are MADE to sound like that. Under normal circumstances the materials doors are made from now do not give that resounding quality thunk sound when you close them, the sound associated with quality cars of old. They have to be designed to sound like that because car makers know that people prefer them to sound like that and associate it with quality. So yeah weird what factors are listed as 'quality'
This car looks fine in FR but the other specs look so ridiculously boring, I thought Seat was supposed to be the sporty VAG brand but the Polo and even the Fabia are more interesting looking. And in their cars in general Seat is fast becoming the budget brand when VAG is moving Škoda upmarket.
Totally disagree, I think the Ibiza look way better than the others. The FR is definitely the best looking trim though, and I think the looks suffer with the smaller wheels and halogen lights.
I agree. even the Polo looks now nicer than the Ibiza. Desig is boring as hell plus the cheap interior. I've once owned an Ibiza 3L. That was the last sporty and good looking Ibiza.
@@Samosayummyyay I think you are mistaken, Auris Hybrid is way more expensive than most Leons, let alone Ibizas. If you mean the Yaris hybrid, in my country the basic version costs as much as Ibiza 1.5tsi FR, official 0-60 time is 11.4 secs, Ibiza 95bhp is 10.6s while 115ps is 9 secs.

@A real petrol-head I know, I live in England. My point is, for their new flagship model, they sent him an old, used car. And, if this is their latest model, and it's a 2017 plate, surely that means that a new version is out soon? Very poor show of Seat, they couldn't even be bothered to send probably one of the biggest UK car review channels their latest car.
I got me This ibiza. But instead of that fingerprint black panel its light grey and matt Also got me some 19 inch brescia rims on it And i do have the armrest thank god🤣🤣. Its the late 2017 business intense ibiza. Also got lighting at the feet My first decent modern car. Very happy with it My first ever car was a ibiza 2001 Then a ibiza 2002. And now to a 2017. What a diffrence
im using the black and white display and i'd say it is pretty damn good. i got it for real cheap as a second hand but with very low miles- like 200 or so. appereantly the owner didnt like the car and returned it to get a second hand Leon. Also, this damned car does not have an armrest. DAMMIT SEAT. Also, engines that have more than 100hp gets upgraded from rear drum brakes to rear disc brakes.
Time to bring down some of his comments. First of all, Suspension with 17inch in FR trim is bound to be less forgiving than the style version with the 15 inch rims and 185 tyre. The polo is slightly softer but not by much. It means that it too, will not be great with 17inch rims. Both have two stage extra dampers, but what they do (normal to harder for FR and normal to softer for excellence trims and polo) is different. The line in the dash? If it bothers you you should be bothered in the audi A3 as well (which he dubs as the best interior in the class above for premium hatchbacks etc). Won't that line gather dust etc there? No mention that the door panels in the ibiza and the polo are cut cheaply where the window meets the frame behind the light for the door lock. Ok...that is more budget than anything soft touch in the dash but ok. And no mention that the door panel of the ibiza in FR is actually a better deal than the polo: Better finish (yes), cloth in a very large portion (the polo is all hard plastic: Where your elbow rests there is some plastic which is like a soft well...skin, not so good actually. Same with the seat...). There is no wind mirror noise in the motorway in the seat or the polo. I've driven it on more than 140km/h in the motorway, it's actually less noisy than some bigger cars. It's other noise sources (road and engine) are well suppressed, so much so that it tracks consistently at about 68-70 db at 140km/h in various tests on motor press and with my db meter in the level of the right ear and A weighting and calibrated). How does the polo fare? Less noisy for ...0,5 db usually. And you can't really tell. You can tell that if the ibiza has wider tyres you will hear them more in rougher surfaces. Else, it's golf or less as far as noise goes, actually almost mercedes levels in some regards. Not bad VAG, but don't try to sell the polo as something better soundproofed. If you open both their door panels you will see no sound proofing. You only get that in the passat and above. Same with the golf mk VI and VII so... Still those cars are so well designed that they don't need to block noise from there so...!
Who cares about the hard plastic on the dashboard? I never touch my dashboard, why should i? I have this car in fr trim with 115 hp dsg(not 110 hp as you said Matt, I guess by mistake) and loving it. I also drove the new polo as a rental, the Ibiza is much better to drive and the polo feels exactly as cheap as the Ibiza, except for the soft upper part of the dash. It a great looking car in my opinion. Love your reviews. 😁
01:00 not really. After a year with my 1,0 ecotsi 95 bg style ibiza. It is good to drive in town. You dont dance between gears because of long gear ratios. But that makes car slow accelaration. Above 2k rpm car is responsible but below that it is dead. And one more thing about cheap plastics. I only touch 8' screen so thats not a big problem

i don't undestand why, but the basic Ibiza in Spain has electric rear windows as standard and climate control with screen too. :S
At this price you're expecting a Rolls Royce?
I guess you could get a used old Rolls for that.
Happy Christmas to Carwow and its fans🎅🎁🎄
Merry Christmas to the carwow team 🎄🎁🎄
5:55 look at his cheek, it is already red, so it took at least a couple of slapping before final shoot :D
Got one of these and i always look forward to driving it.
Why didn't you review the FR sport? Alcantara interior, digital dash, could go on...
Just ordered this 🤪, had the standard fr last year
That is the one I bought and its great.
If you want better materials get a Polo. If you want good materials get an A1. Simple
17 plate, yet we're coming up to the end of 2018?
@A real petrol-head I know, I live in England. My point is, for their new flagship model, they sent him an old, used car. And, if this is their latest model, and it's a 2017 plate, surely that means that a new version is out soon? Very poor show of Seat, they couldn't even be bothered to send probably one of the biggest UK car review channels their latest car.
I thought you already made a video on this new Ibiza? Oh well, it’s head to head time!
Mat is the best car viewer I have to admit
I think it's better than polo since it has 110 hp engine where polo has 95 with the same engine.
I got me
This ibiza. But instead of that fingerprint black panel its light grey and matt
Also got me some 19 inch brescia rims on it
And i do have the armrest thank god🤣🤣. Its the late 2017 business intense ibiza. Also got lighting at the feet
My first decent modern car. Very happy with it
My first ever car was a ibiza 2001
Then a ibiza 2002.
First of all,
Suspension with 17inch in FR trim is bound to be less forgiving than the style version with the 15 inch rims and 185 tyre.
Merry X-Mas Matt & Co.
My first car ever was a 1999 Ibiza manual, loved it.
I'm still waiting for that van race and you already have 1.5 million subscribers so keep up your promise .
6:15 Seat knew what would come next
01:00 not really. After a year with my 1,0 ecotsi 95 bg style ibiza. It is good to drive in town. You dont dance between gears because of long gear ratios. But that makes car slow accelaration. Above 2k rpm car is responsible but below that it is dead. And one more thing about cheap plastics. I only touch 8' screen so thats not a big problem
He didnt mean the TSI, which is a perfectly fine engine, I've got one on order at the moment, he means the 1.0 MPI with 75bhp, that one is terrible
5:49 The redness on your left cheek proves you might have been repeating this slap sequence for a few times before getting the best one. Haha! You really are a masochist! :)))))))
at the end of the video mat came out of the car as if he had just been driving it, lol. Excellent reviews- if i watch other car reviews on UA-cam i always come back to watch yours, even if its the same car. keep up the good work 👍👍
Skoda Fabia vs Seat Ibiza vs VW polo
VW v VW v VW
Ibiza for me but close match with Fabia
No reason to buy a Polo or an A1. Best in class imo, unless you need a hybrid.
This is a freaking car review video and it has no footage showing the back of the car from a distance. Unbelievable! I want my view back!
I had the fr 116ps manual and I drove 3 hours to the coast and got 60mpg
Always keep up your funny flare in these reviews
No central armwrest in front? What the hell!?
It has central armrest but it's an extra
It’s an optional extra but should be standard
@A real petrol-head Exactly...

I've drive the new IBIZA (not the FR), Ive made a comparison between my car Seat IBIZA sc 2010 , the handling in my car is "OK" , But in the new car the handling, It's so bad! the ESP need to works all the time, I will not forget the firs corner- under steering!!
You didn't mentioned it...
(My cars For the weekends Peugeot 306 S16 1995 and Peugeot 106 XSI 1994)
That infotainment would be nice except it whines. Something about the backlight I guess because it gets louder if you turn up the brightness. All Seat cars that I tested do the same. Ibiza, Arona, Leon, Ateca.
I bought the 2016 seat ibiza fr trim and yes I agree you can definitely feel the potholes when you drive over them
that's not the 2019 FR interior, that's the 2018 interior.
Im 6”2 and i have have plenty og space in the back
My mate got this for his first car and i got the mrk8 fiesta st-3 and ive driven his and the my car feels 10x better
Hello Carwow, i hope you don't mind me asking why a second review of the same car? and why test drive a different version than the one in the beginning of the video? Otherwise good job Matt as always i'm a fan of your work :)
Please do the new Audi Q3!
There is a link to a written review, on Carwow's FB page. I assume a video is coming soon.
Wow. So I have a 63 plate Seat Leon TSI which has FAR more features than this brand new 2018/19 Ibiza. Disappointingly interesting! Its almost 2019... LED headlights and electric windows SHOULD BE AS STANDARD in all cars and models!
Muchas gracias Mat por tu esfuerzo en pronunciar correctamente IBIZA. El sonido /z/ correspondiente a grafías c+i,e así como z+ a,o,u es siempre difícil para angloparlantes. It is quite nice the work you do, congrats
Window winders on a FR spec car in 2019. "Are you kidding me "
Mat you should review the FR SPORT! Looks a much nicer car
5:52 Judging by the rosy cheek before the 'fatigue recognition' slapped you from the back seat, leads me to surmise this wasn't done in 1 or 2 takes 😂
Hahah the best and funniest reviewer ever! Grat job Matt as always
Merry Christmas 🎄 from 🇦🇺.
Biggest concern is not the plastic it's that it uses VW engines ..
Merry Christmas carwow
Your reviews are the best mat.. please do kia forte 2019
Blue Ibiza on static display and red Ibiza driven! How is that for making that car even more fun!
Subscription deserved just for the immaculate spanish pronunciation
I really dislike that gloss finish on the dashboard because it attracts dust quite easily.
I always remember the lime green 2.0 cupra from 1995...😁👍
6.25 was okay when this was released.....2020 comes along and the whole world has to do it 🙃😔🤔
Matt be thinking he's reviewing a Bentley here or what?? It's SUPPOSED to be cheap you plebian!
