All I hear is how everyone is so "soft" and F1 is "flotsam and jetsam" but now that Lando didn't have the pace to win, you want Mclaren to artificially alter the standings to favour the slower driver? Favouring the slower driver that cannot start an F1 Grand Prix to save his life through team orders is the "softest" thing you can do. I like you Cameron but this is nonsense good sir. Blame Lando for not getting it done of the start. Blame Lando for not having the pace to catch and overtake his teammate in equal machinery. Blame Lando for not making the correct call to gamble on the 1 stop strategy. Too much of the blame is going to the team here. He started on the front row in Belgium and Max down in 14th or something and he still loses ground to Max despite being in the better car. That is simply not acceptable. Today, Norris was not held up by Piastri or anything like that, he messed up the start and allowed Oscar to pull of an incredible move around the outside on him and didn't have the pace in the dirty air afterwards. Max has scored 84 points. A points differential of a measly 7 points in 6 races. Lando after Monza, with only 9 races remaining, is still 62 points behind Max! Over the same period of 6 races, Oscar has scored 110 points, more than any other driver on the grid. Now compare Oscar’s 110 points to Lando’s 91 points. A differential of 19 points favouring Oscar over Lando. And 26 points more than Max. (Opposed to Lando’s 7) Keeping these facts in mind, do you honestly think that Oscar should now quit racing Lando for the remainder of the year? Do you think that would be good for McLaren, or for f1 in general? Do you think it would be great for the fans and make for better racing? A better spectacle for those watching around the world? Norris just isn’t on the same level as the other potential WDCs of the future, like Russell, Leclerc and Piastri. Of course Norris can win races etc. But it’s something different to win a championship. And I don’t see it from Norris.

i agree - ferrari won that race fair and square by having pace with better deg. I suspect Monza will be the only place they can do that, but they did it - fair play
Nah, I'm not so sure about that. Oscar could have stayed out and won pretty easily but his stupid team wasn't on the ball. "Hey Oscar if we pit you now you will be 20 seconds behind Charles and Carlos, or you can stay out in clear air and defend for 14 laps and win. Do you want to stay out?"
Been saying this all week ... Lando should have taken 18 points from Max today ... he took 8 ...... Lando don't have the killer instinct to be a champion !!!!! Piastri showed today he has it to be WDC by passing Lando in the 2nd corner, his ruthless. If there is a WDC to be fought 2025 Piastri is a way bigger threat than Lando !!!
Lando is thinking to much and maybe that is way he choose to avoid a crash with his team mate. Oscar force the overtake knowing that Lando will try to avoid a crash.
Bad read. Lando was playing the team game. He could have defended and both would prob be out… Lando has more to loose and Oscar knows it. He showed that he did not play team game… you can clearly see it in Zaks interviews that they know they lost the 1-2 because of oscars recklessnes
@@agnosandre team game is not being ruthless if both of them were out it would be 109% on piastri and mclaren would then have to take decisions from next race
We need to be honest about Lando: he does not have that killer instinct which leads to him blowing pole positions. Oscar sent a clear message to Lando today that gloves are off and it’s each man for himself. Norris needs to respond in kind for the rest of the season. Stuff team orders, be ruthless and take no prisoners! No one is going to look out for him.
i get what your saying but DID U SEE THAT OVERTAKE! oscars kinda kicking his ass rn if they need to do team orders every second race then there is clearly an issue. idk if that makes total sense but basically I feel like the gap between oscar an lando ability wise is just too small to start throwing team orders out, this is not the only time he has beat lando on merit this season and it won't be the last

Unpopular opinion. I like how McLaren don’t care as much about the drivers title as the constructors. Here’s a question. Did Rosberg ever help Lewis to win a driver’s championship? Both drivers have a responsibility to the team to bring home the constructors championship. But neither have responsibility to help their teammate to win the drivers championship. The only exception is if they are a contracted number 2 driver.
Agreed.... or (I would also add) if one of the drivers cannot mathematically win the drivers championship and the other still can. Other than that, they need to be fighting for their own championship points.
Lando was nowhere near Oscar on this one. I’m glad he didn’t slow down 4 seconds so lando could pass him. It would have been way too artificial. Hungary is where they dropped the ball.
Lando would have pulled away way more in clean air if Oscar did not try a risky out of the blue overtake… Not a good team strat to fight in lap 1 when you are 1-2 ffs!! How obvious can it be! They lost the win because of oscar. Karma
Nobody from McLaren Mercedes or Ferrari would be able to overcome Max’s lead because none of those teams have the balls to tell one of their drivers they are number 2 and must let the other driver win every race for the points. Which is exactly what Redbull would be willing to do in this situation
Plus they cry after all race "we are 4th powers"... Red Bull with Newey = Cheat & win. Red Bull without Newey = Cry and loose. Orange army: "It's not the car!" Orange army after Miami: o.o
It seems to me MCL don't believe they can win the drivers championship. Very poor strategy by allowing their drivers to race each other. They had 25points for the taking today and bottled it😂
How can McLaren not believe they can win the drivers championship? Its simple math 😂 Lando was absolutely in a position to win today and with Max being 6th, he could have clawed back 18 points. There are enough races left for him to catch and surpass Max given 2 or 3 more situations like that? Given that McLaren have been bottling it since Silverstone, Norris could have been basically level pegging by now and going into the remaining season with a faster car. Norris as well as mclaren have fumbled the bag - Norris with his poor starts and Mclaren on team orders (or lack thereof) when necessary.
Love this channel, but there’s no reason for these boys not to race on the merits, if Lando can’t do it, he’s not fit for it, and Oscar smoked the shit out of Lando on the first lap, you cannot ask him to give that back against the merits. Lando has to take that shit if he wants it.
Mate, apart from the fact that you mispronounce far too much - is the fact that Piastri's move was another power play to crush Lando and further himself. This is what an F1 driver should do. Piastri isn't there to carry and mollycoddle Lando - Lando needs to grab it and show some grit. Piastri's move was exceptional and will be remembered as a turning point between Piastri's relationship with the team, with Lando and with the rest of the grid.
Comes a point when you have to realize that you can second-guess every decision and gamble. I'm just grareful that this season is developing into such a fantastic one.
no, they are operating the team the way mclaren has always operated - they dont do it for your amusement. Ferrari rolled the dice and won - fair play to them. Lando has driven like a champ in waiting in previous seasons, but not this one. The reason he isnt closer in the championship is because he hasnt had a champions season, and he would be the first to admit it
Well that reads like factual analysis, not second-guessing. The only point I would add is that McLaren is struggling with the riches, they know Lando is good but Oscar is better.

Do you honestly belive if mclaren championship positions reversed, they would be giving lando team order? honestly?
McLaren lied to Lando at Hungary. This is not on Lando. Why should Lando go into Monza turn 1 worrying about his teammate. If it isn't obvious, Oscar is the golden boy. Like when Kimi didn't realize Vettel was the #1 at Ferrari.
"Why should Lando go into Monza turn 1 worrying about his teammate" Are you having a laugh? @@raid8769 Yes, at race 1, 2 or 3. But you don;t do this in a title fight when you're trying to catch Max. There were days when Schumacher, Vettel, Hamilton weren't the fastest but their team mate inverted to preserve the title fight.

For lando to get drivers mclaren would be telling a driver they want to keep around for a while (oscar) to let lando pass him every time lando isn't performing better than him, and that's just unrealistic, winning a drivers like that is stupid, would lando even get anything out of it really if his team mate is pushing him along. I'm sure he wants to see oscar as someone to race too. They're both great drivers and we know Lando is more than capable of doing it himself with no bias between the drivers.
I don't quite agree with you on the McLaren thing. They are letting their racers race, and I think that is a good thing, regardless of the championship. We have gotten used to this team orders bullshit over the years, and I'm quite tired of it actually. Letting competition by without a fight? This is supposed to be the most competitive racing series on the planet. Your teammate is your biggest RIVAL, not your friend. Yes it's a team sport, but it's an anomaly in that it's also an individual sport. At the end of the day it's not a "race" if people are just letting their teammates by, instead of putting up a fight in equal machinery. We always complain about not seeing drivers compete in equal machinery and are now complaining when we do get a chance to see it? Come on
Check your racing integrity my friend. McLaren are not a pussy team orders set up. The drivers championship is for individual drivers to win, on merit, including beating their team mates. The manufactures championship is for the team to win. The theater that is team orders belongs in less pure forms of motorsport than F1. Judging how Lando is being cocky lately, I bet in their meetings he said the faster driver should always gets the win, this is what most people doesn’t know, he is getting what he asked for. That’s why the team won’t make team orders, and Lando knows it
I’ll say this; We all just need to chill. None of us know what happened behind closed doors after that position swap for Oscar’s win. This team is operating like a team that was insulted by Lando and have decided that neither party will do anything to harm them other, but will not go out of their way to help either.
I'm not crying... let them fight for their own championship until it's mathematically impossible. Anything else is pathetic and isn't the kind of racing most fans want to watch. As long as they aren't smashing into each other and losing the team a massive haul of points, it's game on.
Oscar still needs to learn a little more about his tyres. Then he can tell the basketcase strategists at McLaren to flog off when they make useless pit calls
"You're going to need Oscar, you're going to need the team." Lando made the switch that day for Oscar and when Lando needed them, none are to be found.
If Lando don’t take his opportunities, he doesn’t deserve to be a champion. Oscar is their golden boy, he will be their nr 1 driver the coming years and will be champion before Lando
why do ppl think that Lando deserves for Oscar to move over for him since he's only one 1 extra race than him and cant ever finish the 1st lap of a race that he started on pole leading at the end of it. I don't think Lando the way he's driving now deserves for any team orders especially when he's slower than he's teammate. All this brit bias for him needs to stop.
Sorry but Lando is not championship winning material. Micheal Schumacher would have crashed into his teammate at that second corner and forced the team to pick a side.

As pole sitter the first strategic move Lando made was to create a block in the path of his teammate Oscar. This would open the door for Russell to box him in completely.
(Opposed to Lando’s 7)
Keeping these facts in mind, do you honestly think that Oscar should now quit racing Lando for the remainder of the year? Do you think that would be good for McLaren, or for f1 in general? Do you think it would be great for the fans and make for better racing? A better spectacle for those watching around the world? What about for Oscar and Lando? Decisive, timely & assertive action made it possible for him to go from second to first place
rather than from second to the foreseeable third place behind Russell. The objective of every champion DriVer is to oVertaKe All Opponent.
What’s crazy to me is how angry these media accounts and tv pundits have been. I get that the decision seemed odd, but with what right does Nico or Buxton question Zack Brown with such disrespect.
Let’s not let passion turn us into assholes, please 🙏
They want a championship fight. You know the thing real 8:24 fans have been calling for for a few years.
@@bdizzle9586 Absolutely, completely agree. It’s fair to ask why didn’t then swap the positions at the end. I just hope that it’s done will less anger and sense of entitlement like we’re owed something.
Fantastic race, and I still think Lando is gonna win the WDC 💯
Piastri is a natural born racer ,go go go!!!
Lando needs to man up, nobody is going to just give him the race win he has got to fight for it.
So much for Lando needing Oscar to win the championship and giving him his first win in F1
Zak used to slate redbull in 2023, but when the heat was switched partially on, he burnt up and pussied out of the battle
The team should’ve swapped Norris to get max points. They said he was going to need their help after Hungary. This is a little baffling to me to be honest.
Red Bull thought they could build a 2022 Mercedes and win a lot of races with it!!!!
Drivers title brings no money.. its all about the money 🤣🤣🤣
they pay the drivers to drive for the team, they didn't care for the drivers championship . team championship pay the money so McLaren wants that one. It's a pity because the fans rarely remember the constructors championships but the drivers one.
@@5150TJT but there's prestige in having a championship winning racer in the team. Lando should get given the place
As an American I can tell you…. Zak Brown is to F1 as the MLS is to the EPL. Ron Dennis would’ve had Lando within 40-50 pts to Max after the ITA GP heading in to Baku….
Oh the humanity! 🤯
Lando has the best car for over 10 races... hé doesn't do the same job as Lewis or max when they have the best car...
Mathematically yes - Lando has the biggest chances, but his poor starts proves that he has to earn that championship.
How do you know there is not something written on piastri contract about first/second drivers?
As a Ferrari fan, even if the staying out didn't work, I was very happy they tried it. What a race!
Cam said it: Lando is the ONLY driver with a realistic shot at taking away this years DC from Max, yet so many commenters here refuse to acknowledge it, and instead want this to be about Lando being a Brit, a worse driver, etc. It doesn't matter! Do you want Max to walk away with this year's DC? It certainly seems like McLaren do. Thank you Cam for your passion. I feel it too.
This is a business of show-casting speed & while the driver's championship is very important to the audiences,
The constructor's championship is vitally important to the lasting future of the team & all it's members.
This large member of members happen to includes *A* mere two drivers on short term contracts.
It is obviously in Piastri's contract that he has equal status until mathematically out of the championship Webber will have ensured this.
McLaren...self-sabotage.
Lando isn’t a killer.
It’s that simple.
He too scared to consistently beat his pal Max.
Kudos to Andrea stella and mark webber for ensuring oscar is in a fair position.
So thumbnail says Bottler but ur saying McLaren blew it. Lando let Oscar pass him in lap 1. Lando lost 4 sec all on his own. And with that they're supposed to make Oscar slow down so Lando can pass him? No sir. McLaren know that Oscar is the #1 with the decisions they make. You can't hold Lando's hand across the finish line. If he was doing everything right then you cater to him but he constantoy makes too many mistakes. Dont blame McLaren.
Lando almost spun out in that overtake.
When i think of Lando after a race its a broken man almost in tears sulking about how he blew yet another opportunity. I don't think of a world champion.
Mclaren are Red Bull's biggest fan's..
