    I'm thoroughly enjoying your travels in Vietnam, such an incredibly beautiful country that I hadn't realised before. Thanks for posting your inspiring videos, and I'm so relieved to learn that the stomach woes were short-lived.

    The old part of this pagoda was actually renovated about 35 years ago . All the ancient buildings were fallen apart . Since you are already in North Vietnam , go check-out Tam Chuc pagoda as well . It`s located in Ha Nam province , on the way to Hanoi . It`s actually closer to Hanoi than Bai Dinh ( Ninh Binh province ) . It`s currently the biggest pagoda in VN . It`s not an old one , but the scenery there is gorgeous .

    What an awesome find! I've not seen other recent youtubers go here as they were in a hurry to get as much in as possible within 30 days before their visa expired. The whole complex is HUGE and wow, some amazing stuff there. That tall building and the views were crazy. I loved that long hallway that went forever with the stone carvings, too. And the stuff inside the cave was amazing!

    • @OnePackWanderers
      @OnePackWanderers  2 роки тому +2

      The time crunch is very real with these short visas! Even with 60 days we have felt ourselves frequently having to choose between different things. It would be easy to spend a year or more here, slowly moving from province to province.
      This complex was very cool, though! That hallway especially. It is apparently a mile long, and it's lined the whole way with those 2-5 ton stone figures. Really an impressive spectacle when you think about the logistics behind something like that.

    I've heard about this pagoda and how big it is but then I saw a video of it being filled with people during Buddhist pilgrimage and certain Buddhist holidays. I saw night footage of it too and it looks beautiful at night. I think this compound, especially the older section look amazing.

    What an awesome sight! I'm so glad you did eventually find the elevator. I felt so bad for you when I realized that you didn't know that the elevator was on the second floor (that's what the Vietnamese part of that sign was saying). Of course, I did laugh my head off for about 15 seconds first. But it was a sympathy laugh, totally. 😁 Thanks again for sharing such a beautiful place with us. It's great inspiration for my own upcoming travels.

    • @OnePackWanderers
      @OnePackWanderers  2 роки тому +2

      Hahaha we were pretty crestfallen when we initially thought there was no elevator. You read Vietnamese? That's awesome! We both find it a very challenging language, often not even hearing the subtle tonal differences when we ask how to pronounce words 😅

    • @vfgreen
      @vfgreen 2 роки тому

      Yes, I speak and read the language. My mother is Vietnamese, so I grew up around it my whole life. But I didn’t actually start learning it till I was 18 (long story), so I’m not fluent. The tones are a stumbling block to anyone who isn’t familiar with tonal languages. The pronunciation challenges are offset by the relatively straightforward (from an English speaker’s perspective) grammatical structure, though, in my opinion. Like any new language, it gets easier with time and consistent usage and exposure. I’m planning to move there this fall, so I’m looking forward to drastically improving my fluency.

    I just discovered this Chanel and spent the day binging your SEA videos. Having been a frequent visitor to SEA over the past 12 years, I just want to let you know that you are incredibly good at capturing the things that make this such a special part of the world. You missed 2 of my absolute favourite places in Cambodia but you've made up for it with the incredible journey you're on in Vietnam (which is my absolute favourite food destination!). iPhone 13 Pro for all the shots except the motorcycle footage, which is a DJI Action 2.

    I was following 5 different "Travel Couples"- I had to dump two of them- one was way too cheesy and over acting, the other was just selling their looks. So, of the remaining three I follow? I will keep you both humble and keep my ranking a secret. So just keep doing what you are doing- it is a winning formula. (Oops, was that a hint?) Damn the visuals were epic in this one!

      Come on, drop some names. You got me all curious as to who you're talking about now. I personally am not a fan of the Delightful Travelers. Really enjoy Sammy and Tommy's videos even though their trip was 2 years ago and they are just now uploading them (they even got a comment from Sonny from The Best Ever Food Review Show...he has almost 9 million subs so that's a great compliment to them). Really loving Flora and Note a lot. Their videos are not released fast enough for my liking, but they are so well done. Also enjoyed Attila and Zae when they were in Vietnam, but they tended to put too much facetime on their videos instead of spanning the scenery as that'd be more pleasant to look at and waste less time, but they are new to vlogging and did great drone shots. I also liked 2Passports 1Dream, too. They were entertaining and pleasant to watch.

      Every single one of these guys have much higher production quality than we do as well. Really excellent videos from them 🙂

      The kind words are much appreciated - thank you! We are having fun with the process, and it is very nice to hear it when someone enjoys these videos. Cheers, to Thailand! 🙂

      @@OnePackWanderers Well, they also have drones and such, which helps a lot. But you guys are going at a slower pace and really showing stuff that they can't show since they are in a hurry to check their list. Besides, your caving video alone puts you right up with them since I love adventurous stuff like spelunking. And I also love that Tia learned to ride and is like a pro now.

      @@doodahgurlie Those couples are great. You did not list any I was talking about. I do not want to be mean, just my preference.
