- @ihlamur8461After the fun we had with our Focus on the Settlers series we did, we now turn our attention to my new favorite game. Pioneers of Pagonia.
This video focuses on the Size of Everything, because this is important to really be able to focus on all the buildings and pioneers.
Some facts!
The minimap shows more space than can actually be used by the islands.
Islands take up about a third of the available space.
Pioneers are 6'1" or 1m86cm tall
They walk at 4mph (1.8 meters per second)
The Venturer is about 60m end to end and would have been able to carry up to 400 Pioneers, although maybe not with all that cargo!
Building plots are 13 square meters, or 3.6 meters wide and long.
A forester could plant up to 280 trees in his planting range if conditions were perfect.
It would take him 48 seconds to walk from one end to the other.
In this series we take a deep dive into everything we know or can observe about the Pioneers of Pagonia.

Lets all thank Ihlamur for giving up his social life to make us videos like this 👏👏
It's what I do! :D
👍this is some detailed work here.
Thanks 👍
Dude, you really did the homework for this video!
I've been thinking about it for a few weeks... but honestly, this is roughly what I do for work... so it wasn't so tough.
I'm preparing a "focus on" series about The Settlers - Rise of Cultures inspired by your own. Probably I will start it after I finish the map editor tool for this game. The first thing I wanted to do find out how many metres is a journey and how many square journeys and metres is a hexagon. I planned to compare builder height with doors which in Europe have a dominating height of 2 metres and average the results. The only way to find a journey is to kill a builder which in The Settlers - Rise of Cultures is not so easy task because you can't just send him into exile from the storehouse.
Love the fact that you've got a plan. You could also count Settler strides and calculate speed per journey which would help verify if the numbers are reasonable. I'll be watching this with interest.
You said "for Europeans" and then "miles". That's not an European unit. Miles are only used in England and America and in 2 other countries in the world. The American mile and the English mile represent two different lengths. Everywhere else metres are used.
You're absolutely right. I meant non-Europeans of course, but you know when you get into the flow! :D What really gets me is pints and gallons, which have the same word, but different measurements! I suppose Pioneers have their own language and system of measurement. I wonder what it is.
i enjoy your videos but PLEASE either remove the background music or lower the volume. It is so hard to listen to your narrative.
Noted! I don't like the sound of my own voice, so maybe I'm subconsciously trying to muffle it. Appreciate the feedback.
@@ihlamur8461 believe me, your voice sounds great! Nothing to worry at all. It is normal to feel that way.
Please let me know if the audio on the latest video is better. I tried a few new things.
