Our cheer team was awesome! (I might be bias because I was captain) we focused a lot on stunts because that was what got the crowd pumped. A lot of cheer is turning into a sport called “stunt” it’s a shame that some schools still have unspirited teams, however lack of funding and the media always making cheerleaders look bad really discouraged a lot of people. I would like to point out that this is a drill team not a cheer team. Hopefully one day every school allows cheer to be more competition/all star style!
@@peewee2136 while there are multiple forms of drill (like winter guard, color guard, military guard, jr cheer), this is very much a cheer drill set (even if being done by a dance team or a various form of drill team, it is still how cheer drill sets are choreographed). But as they are in cheer uniforms, and not any sort of dance or drill uniforms, I will still call them a cheer squad (as many cheer squads don't actually cheer on another sports teams, but are dancers & athletes in thier own right that compete themselves at their own meets & for their own championships by doing routines such as this).
As a person who's danced for 10 years I can say that the moves aren't all that complicated, but the amount of synchronization, and the use of cannons is just so pleasing to watch. I love finding gems like this because they make me so happy seeing stuff like this. Sure you can hit some of the coolest moves in choreography, but if y'all ain't in sync then it fucks everything thing up, so props to these girls for being so on the ball.
A little background information for anyone wondering🤗 This is a drill team. There is a cheer team too, but what we do in drill is quite different. In drill, there are different styles of dance: military/drill (the sharp arm movements you see), Pom (kinda more “bouncy” with jumps, turns, & leaps), funky (more like normal upbeat dance), floor (on the floor obviously - and that thing when they were hooked up in two lines and used each other to move all at once, where the guy yelled, “what is that?!”, is called venting), kicks, ripples (in some sort of line(s) doing things in a ripple or synchronized movements, in which they try to line up their arms and body parts so it looks like one person from the front), and it’s not seen in this routine, but little hints of hip hop too. The team captains and lieutenants choreograph and teach the routines. This is for a school spirit assembly, but there are competitions too, which look quite different from this. The team also performs at football games on the field with the marching band doing get down and halftime, and at basketball and other games as well for halftime. Hope this helped^^
Anyone who has cheered or danced realizes this is not difficult technically. All the moves are very simple, it's just about timing and cooperation and it looks amazing.
Most of what they did could be done by any of us. It's the synchronization that is really on point here and what gives it that kick. Their coach did a great job of working with what she had and turning it into gold.
It was good don't get me wrong. However I was a little underwhelmed, I was a dancer all my life, and on our dance team. The only thing I was really impressed by was the end with all the hand and arm movements. That was by far the most difficult thing.

Watched numerous videos of this schools drill team throughout the years. One from 3 months ago and this is hands down THE BEST team and performance! So cool this is on the internet for them to look back on and show their daughters one day. 👏 the move at 2:35, when they lay on the ground, lock arms and do that cool little trick was awesome!
mine does too and it sucks because if you have to use the bathroom really bad they don't let you go and after lunch they close the bathrooms and they won't let you go
Not bad! The hours of practice that go into a routine like that is insane. I remember from my drill team days. They’re lucky they get to walk onto the court. We had to march, with our hands backwards on our hips, and the toes of our boots had to touch our knees when we lifted our feet.
Wow! Awesome choreography, and I loved how they incorporated their uniforms into it to make an optical illusion. I've never seen such a big team, but if they're that talented, it's no wonder a lot of girls want to join in!
Late July and probably spent months practicing- plus they’re a drill team which is a big difference from just your normal “ordinary” cheerleader who jumps and does splits and shakes Pom poms (I have nothing against ordinary cheerleaders I actually used to be one and in this comment I’m just stating what I thought it was/is... sorry if I offend anyone ;-;)

Wolf.Burrito I’m from Trinidad. The high-schools are generally very basic, you just go there to learn and that’s it. There aren’t many extracurricular or cheerleading or anything like that.
