The first thing a Himalayan owner should do once he gets his bike is to follow Ben's channel!🤙 Amazing video as always brother🙌
Yeah...i booked new granite black ...
*im planning and decided to follow Ben's channel for maintenance and upgrades etc.
Thats very true bro..
thanks for the kind words friend.
I too now feels positive now to consider Himalayan as an upgrade.
@@Motorcyclegig glad to hear that dear friend
Love your channel. An Indian Himi owner that speaks English and passes on quality info. My 2021 has been problems from the start. When I first got the bike everyone would flash their high beams at night even though mine was on low. I tried to lower the headlamp but could not due to a bracket stopping the headlamp from lowering. After removing the headlamp and grinding the protruding metal, I was finally able to adjust the light downward. At 1,300km the speedometer started rattling, and I discovered that all the screws within were breaking off due to poor quality plastic. It was fixed under warranty and then as soon as it expired the problem returned again. So at 9,000km I opened up the speedometer and glued the boards in place with silicon glue. No more screws to break off. Then the constant stalling in city traffic was frightening, the dealer said they fixed a pinched hose under the tank and the problem continued. Then the rear suspension around 1,500km started squeaking at the swing arm bolt and the dealer greased it. Then the rear brake started releasing during city emergency hard braking. Under a hard braking, it feels like something physically breaks, you feel a strange grinding sound as you lose the brakes. The front brake also has an intermittent problem, sometimes when you go to apply the front brakes, the lever is stiff. In other words you have to squeeze super hard and then the lever breaks loose and the brakes begin working again. You need to apply both brakes because you never know which one will fail. Today I had failures on both front and rear brakes at different times. The bike at 9,000 km suddenly started making a sharp rattling noise going over small bumps in the road. This is the first street bike I ever owned in 50 years of riding that had the steering bearings go bad under 160km. And of course my wife and I hate the seats, painful at anything over 20 minutes in the saddle. But, with all that, the bike has charm. I am just not sure what to do when the glue no longer holds the speedometer together.
Will get my Himalayan Granite Black in ten days! Ordered it in february. You'r videos are perfect for me. Thank you!
glad that these videos help.
Any complaints yet.?
@@tangetaier1783 No, not att all! Made almost 10 000km in the first year.
@@DB-xq3yn Nice, I've booked mine a weeks ago so. Cheers
Bought my 20221 Himalayan about 5 weeks ago . To me , maintenance and just working on a motorcycle is part of the enjoyment . Thanks for all the info from your channel . . All the best from Australia .
right on. maintenance is indeed part of the whole ownership process. and thanks for the wishes .
Great, great rundown of issues. My 2019 Himalayan has had a few of them and I've followed your videos to get rid of the issue. I love my bike and will keep it as long as possible. Enjoy riding and stay free of COVID-19!
Great to hear that Mr Ron. It indeed is a fantastic little motor. love mine .
Fabulous information
very thorough and incredibly appreciated
thank you for taking the time to give all of that to us
everyone should be watching this
thank you
thanks for the kind acknowledgement .
Thanks for a really informative video Ben. I’m a new Himmy owner, so any tips and information from your videos is much appreciated. I also love the change of scenery that you present. It makes a lovely change from our dull, cold winter weather in the UK.👍
welcome to the HIMALAYAN club Eddie. Will continue to take you guys along to more fascinating and spectacular landscape.
Subscribed after watching this very first video. You are a true rider who doesn’t shy away from elbow grease 😁. I think RE could learn a great deal from your TLC’s. Cheers Ben ✌️
Thanks for the kind words dear friend. 😊🙏
Thanks for your insights on owning the Himalayan. I'm a new owner and I appreciate your efforts in making these videos to keep this fantastic bike up and running.
Thanks for the acknowledgment dear friend. And yes it’ sure is beautiful bike 😊
Great Video on the Himalayan Ben with lots of very good points and very sound advice on how to maintain and fix various issues that can come up on any Motorcycle! As you correctly state, preventive maintenance is the Key to trouble free Motorcycle Riding! Thanks again for another great video on the RE Himalayan Motorcycle, please keep posting and sharing your expertise with us Himalayan Riders!
Glad you enjoyed it. and yes will continue to post meaningful content .
I find the headlight fine, but agree. The headlight aim is the issue. I found with mine, even on low beam it was aiming at the trees. I was able to adjust it but I will eventually replace the unit for a full LED one.
I agree, the stock bars are cheese. The side stand is extremely untrustworthy. I mostly use the centre stand.
I kept the lower front mudguard but have fitted the riser bushes to increase the tyre clearance.
Best video as always
Best thing about your videos is you don't sit crying like others
My ride has this problem
My ride has that problem
But you try to solve the problem so well
thanks for the kind words dear friend . and yes to SELF HELP IS THE BEST HELP.
Ben, fantastic video you have covered every aspect of Himalayan in one video love it.
Glad that you found it useful
Fantastic video! Thanks ben! I am getting Himalayan Granite Black this week!
Moral of the video is to learn abt ur Motor cycle!
you said it right ...
Good info Ben! Thankx. Solid good video with many detail info. I'll keep watching
glad to hear that friend.
Preventive measure is the key - true story! Half an hour well spent! Thankyou Ben! I have the BS4 as well and one thing that kind of pinches my heart is when I see the "fit" of the side panels. The airintake side, the panel is "open" from the top and the battery side as well it's "open" from the top. My ABS module near the battery is rusted though I had got it changed a year ago. But, yeah, it's just sad to see those fits tp look like that for such a beautiful motorcycle.
its a simple fix friend . will make a video on it soon.
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN Thankyou! Much appreciated!

Absolutely astutely concised. A great pro and cons out there in UA-cam. Great job Ben.

Hello Ben
I just found your channel and I am going to watch all of your videos. I plan to buy a Himalayan this spring. Where I live in Indiana in the USA there are few Enfield dealers and they don't carry many spare parts. The lack of spare parts does concern me, I wish someone would make a list of recommended spare parts. I plan to get a new 2022 Himalayan I don't plan to do much off road riding it will be mostly paved or gravel roads out in the country exploring small towns and taking photos of the past. I will start watching all of your videos tonight to gain as much information as I can before I buy my bike. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us.
Bob
Hi Bob, This is def not a high maintenance motorcycle, if you are good with wrenches yourself, all you need to do is just keep the joints well greased and lubed. the only spare parts you are looking at that need to be changed periodically are the oil and oil filters. the Air filter will last more than 10-15000 kms if you dont ride dirt.
Fantastic video Ben! Every Himalayan owner should watch this. Well done.
Glad you found it useful . and thanks .
What a channel man, bless the sweet lord I found your channel!
😊
Thanks for the making this informative vlog.. I want to plan a buy royal enfield Himalayan my favourite Motorcycle But Many UA-camrs and ordenry People complaining about the himalayan reliability issues and chassis build quality issues.. Fuel pump and self ignition problem..
Wonderful information, thanks very much!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video brother... thanks you.
glad it helped.
Very detailed thanks for your time Sir
You are welcome
great video, as always....a lot of vloggers that started out saying they "wouldn't change a thing".....are doing the exact changes you have done.....after having mine since November, I am noticing a lot of these issues pop up as well.....and have had the necessary parts on hand for a few months now...now that I am due for the initial valve adjustment, I can take care of all the up front additions...the plug, boot and wire upgrade, LED fog lamps, LED headlight, USB hub, and the EVAP delete.....
have you done an AIS delete as well? Smoaks vlog just did one on both his Himis
Thanks for the kind acknowledgment dear friend. It’s always a good feeling to receive honest feedback from fellow riders. Also I don’t care a lot about what goes on with the blogging/ vlogging community ( though I watch a lot of videos ) is because i am all about inferences from my experiences and not others . I take a hell of a lot of time to figure things out for myself and I Enjoy the whole process. And I still haven’t blocked the AIS is because I can’t afford the shipping charges now . Will customise something soon and will def eliminate the same . The engine for sure will run even better .
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN it makes the exhaust growl.....watch smoaks latest videos.....
@@chicknman72 sure will do . Thanks again
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN the only thing I don't like about Smoaks channel, is he doesn't show the whole process, because he is a certified mechanic for RE, Can Am, BMW, Indian, and HD....and doesn't want the heat if someone screws up and voids their warranty.....
THE HIMALAYAN GURU🙏

Thanks ben ,Im Jeremy Dcruz, I work in Zoho and live in gudavanchery, id there any way I could meet you sometime. Been following you for a while, lovely bloody info that's been really helpful .
Can you make some more travel content
sure friend.
why you don't change your tyre to tubless ?
I DO RUN TUBELESS TYRES . but if you meant converting to a tubeless system then the answer is no i cant have a fool proof tubeless system on the Himmy. the rims are too crude to support a conversion . i have to first get very good rims and then covert it . costs a bomb in india to do a conversion like that . will get it done someday .
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN do let us know on a video as usual 😀.. 👍👍
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN me too i want to convert my himalayan rims to tubless, but i don't know if its good and can resist on off road or not, if you find a good rims for himalayan, don't hesitate to share informations with as and if its possible to ship it out of india.
can you show the cyclops light throw please
You had me until the last bit. I was considering this bike for my daily commute in London and then some weekend green laning, sort of 70/30 city/muddy...
Will work in cold weather without any flaws. I was talking about INDIAN city riding conditions .
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN yes, I definitely understand there's a big difference there, thanks. I'm likely to be doing a lot of clutch feathering slow manoeuvres stuff in traffic here as well. I think it will be fine!
Great video, by the way - sorry I didn't say the first time. You sure are one of the main channels for great information on the Himalayan. Love the style and honesty!
@@NooBiker thanks and glad that these videos help.
Your bike should be proud of you man!!
Ha ha , that’s a first 😊. I believe it would be 😁❤️. Thanks friend
Why dont you add mosko moto reckless80 on your Himalayan?it looks good and purposeful.
yes , but cant afford it now . will get it someday soon.
How to prevent stator from burning?
1800 mls of oil all the time in the motor . Never let your oil level drop . Change oil at every 3-5 k kilometres depending on how hard you ride
I did 29000 Kms BS4...ISSUES FACED ONCE THE CONE SET WAS LOOSE ,...THATS IT ..NOT EVEN A FLAT...🙄
good for you friend . all the best for the future ownership.
Nice video..
Thanks
Nice info sir 😊
glad it helped.
Hi Ben, how to stop engine paint chipping off?
amzn.to/41VQ27u I have made videos on the same
Hey Ben,
Thanks for the content, it's very useful especially here in Brazil, where we don't have many knowledge about RE motorcycles.
Tried to delete my EVAP system yesterday, using your video as a guide (alternative method), but after I finished the job and started the engine, it ran for a couple seconds and stalled as I accelerated a little. After this, the bike wouldn't start, sounded like it was flooded. Reversed everything and it's working fine.
Any idea what I could have done wrong?
Plug the hose from the throttle body with a bolt ( nice and tight ) and leave the hose from the tank to fall free to the ground ( route it along with the overflow drain hose ) . If done correctly this is a 100% fool proof method . I have done this on nearly 50 Himalayan’s . All work GREAT now
Leonardo eu gostaria de falar com você, pode me chamar no whatsapp? 51 983332007 Como entro em contato contigo?
Am I the only one that's had the ignition switch fail due to dry build and arc build up on the contacts causing the bike to cut out intermittently that has bee my worse issue?
That’s unusual and unfortunate as there’s no high current through the ignition switch.
Hi Ben, very curious to know the increase in BHP on your bike by adding the RK chain, K&N, powertronics, Free flow exhaust, NGK spark plug ? Would like to know that cause I plan on upgrading my bikes performance too..... Thanks in advance Ben.....
it would def be around 1.5 - 2 horsepower more at the wheel. my bike is faster to a 100 by 1.5 secs compared to a BS4. no difference in top speed though. but gets there more quickly than any stock bs4.
Which rear view mirror are you using. Kindly reply. It looks stunning ❤️
Pls google doubletake adventure mirrors 😊👍
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN it's way too much (the budget). I will go for duke 250 mirrors😂
What i understand from this vdo is that Himalayan is only for those who hav a hell lot of spare time🤣🤣🤣👍
Did you have any feedback on art of motorcycles handlebar?
i like the KTM plus riser setup better.
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN 👍 thanks mate
ok now I am going for KTM 390 adventure
Good evening Ben, i am kriahna from andhra.
1. What kind of must do modifications do you refer to a new himalayan not even 500km old.
2. Could you suggest me with a problem i am facing in my new himalayan: when i turn my handlebar towards the left the acceleration raises a bit by itself, but when turned towards right it becoms quite.
hi friend,
1. watch my 50 mods video and do whatever you feel suits you best.
2. increase throttle wire/cable freeplay . its a 2 minute job, but if you cant do it, any road side mech ought to help you with this.
Ok thank you.
Ur take on punture proof solution
Doesn’t work when the bike is loaded beyond 120 kilos . Otherwise also it only works on really tiny pricks WHILE ROLLING .
are those tcx boots??

Which type of iridium plug should we install ike whts the code and colder plug range if we install iridium plus performance ignition coil

Good evening Ben, I’m on a 9 day trip, started today, rode on empty ‘trip f’ till petrol station, after filling up, trip f is still displaying and the gauge is on empty,How to disengage trip f
At times the fuel level indicator gets stuck on the pivot in the fuel pump . Wait for it . Ride some bumps and see. And lastly fill up atleast 10 litres
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN ,thanks though I’ve filled full tank, and the ‘f’ still blinking.
@@shailenvisaria3200 wait for it then . Ride some bumpy roads . It’s a simply FLOAT mechanism. It will work sooner or later . Don’t worry about it much .
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN , Thank you.
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN , Good evening bro, just like you said, the trip f and gauge started working after a couple of bumps.
Does it come with steel braided brake lines if it is not which canle to install
the himalayan comes with steel braided brake lines on both front and rear
Do u really need a oil cooler guard on himlaya
No , there is already a decent enough one in place .
Sir i have himalayan bs3 and I'm concern with one thing
After keeping my bike in double stand and holding the clutch if i engage gear then the tiers starts moving even if i hold thr cluthc
Put your foot on the tyre after it starts moving and hold it for a sec or two . Then slowly release foot . If the tyre again starts rotating freely then your clutch plates are binding . Watch my FIX HARD GEAR SHIFTS video and follow the last step . But if your tyre doesn’t rotate again after you held it with your foot . Then it’s totally ok .
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN i have recently changed my clutch disc
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN and have changed my clutch cable also .
