  • This is how passengers get from gate 2e to gate 2f at the Charles de Gaul airport. We left Detroit at 6pm and landed about 2am Indiana time, 8am Paris time. We had 90 minutes to make our connecting flight. We would have missed it but they delayed by 15 minutes because the security lines were so long. It is a freaking long walk between the two gates!
Our next plane to Malaga didn’t even have a gate! I mean it had a gate (2f), obviously, but it opened onto a road with cars on it. lol They bussed us all out to where it was parked and we used moveable steps to get on. The whole thing was a crazy experience!

LOL Perfect! 😆I'm a Dreaming Spanish CI student wondering if I should fly to Madrid via CDG. Thank you for showing the maze.

3 options: you either arrive at 2E gate K or L or M, to transfer to 2F. Since you had to take the rail way, it means you were the farthest. The other 2 transfers are shorter.

Is this the same if you have to go through customs? I’m leaving tomorrow & have 1 hr. 25 min. To make a connecting flight. CDG is the first place I’ll be landing within EU. Is security & customs the same if you have nothing to declare?

Please advise me whether a transit visa is required for someone who is not European?

I heard the tram says 2e and not 2f and you got off. I'm confused. Weren't you suppose to get down at 2f? Please explain

They stopped recording when they reached 2E (Gates L). There's 3 wings of 2E (L,K, and M) and from the looks of it, they were taking the tram from 2E (Gates M) to 2E (Gates K) where they got off and the video resumed with a walk to 2F. Unfortunately there's no direct tram from 2E to 2F since passengers have to go through immigration and security.

Is it obligatory to take the tram to go to 2f?

I don’t know if that’s the only way to get there but it’s definitely the easiest. It’s just a guess but I think the only other way is to literally leave the airport, take a taxi to the other terminal, and then go through security again.

There's three concourses/halls in 2E (arguably, the distinction between 2E and 2F only matters if CDG is your origin/destination; among other things there are flights that depart from 2F (in the sense that that's where you check-in if departing from Paris) but boarding is from gates in one of the 2E concourses). This one is from "Hall M", which would require the tram. "Hall L" and "Hall K" do not use the tram: just walking; some of the gates in Hall L are also setup so that if arriving from a country the EU considers to have good security (roughly (east to west), Singapore, Israel, Serbia, the parts of the EU which aren't in Schengen (Ireland, most notably), the UK (including crown dependencies), Canada, and the US), no reclearing of security is required (just a passport check)... typically the only flights arriving at these gates which can take advantage are operated by Air France (Delta does not generally arrive at these gates).
