I think the problem is that Amazon bases their "choice" on customer reviews but if you look at the reviews they all say stuff like "this was great for my 9 year old niece".

So I got this exact board TODAY second hand but like pretty much new it was used once, and it's so crazy that this showed up on my recommended, like what are the odds 👀 but I'm a super mega beginner so I'm hoping this board can help me out with my skating journey :D

I bought a ridge Nickel board on amazon just to ride around campus, and the bearings were surprisingly good
Today I realized that skating is quite expensive (in comparison to inlineskate, scooter and bmx). The deck especially breaks quite easily and is kinda expensive. I guess destroyed shoes also cost quite a bit. Plus the occasional bearings, wheels and trucks.
Bmx is very expensive starting out but the running costs are not so high.
And blading and scooter are probably the least expensive, because the equipment lasts really long and the main cost are wheels/bearings.

my first board was a second hand 7.5 in tony hawk board that had some trash bearings, but i still learned to ollie then i knew that i wanted to commit to buying a real board
A Hope yo that was my first board too second hand from my older brother and I’m pretty sure it had like 50 or 51 my wheels really small
My first board was an actual build, and then I got frustrated and gave up :(

Great review! I recently did a review on Targets cheapest skateboard being $19.99. The board really didn’t roll much but it did help me land some new tricks because it didn’t roll. Built some confidence surprisingly!

Not trying to take shots at all and I understand not everyone can afford a "pro" complete. They have gotten expensive. I might have an extra set of trucks I don't use. If you can get a deck/wheels and bearings I might be willing to send you my old pair of trucks. As long as they are still worthy lol.
you can get relatively cheap completes but still legit on skateboard stores online like CCS try to look for deals and sales
Mateo go to your local shop and ask if they would sell you any used stuff for cheap or see if they even have deals on new stuff and if you have to buy one part at a time it is so worth it if you actually get into it

Nice vid, have an idea if you can build the cheapest pro board, like blank or sale board, cheapest or used trucks and the same for wheels, bearings, hardwear... I believe it will be around 60-80 usd.

I actually bought the longboard version of that with the skull pattern. I was going to buy the normal board but seeing how it snapped so easily on a pretty basic trick turned me off completely... Enjoying the longboard so far though, but learning how to pump and carve. I have no idea what i'm doing.

It split from the bottom layer to the top, and all i was trying to do was learn how to pump, and it split wide open from end to end. Do not buy this board or the longboard variant.
If you are serious about wanting to get into boarding, spend the money and get a good board.
I have the same board and I just recently replaced the bearings with long board bearings.
I think amazon and your choice is great :)

You have to loosen the wheels a bit, they are screwed too tight which is part of why the bearings are so bad on these boards

Hey. Man I have been a fan forever. Alway will be im reaching out to as many skaters/ kids as i can i do not skate as much as i once did. Still love the sport fool heatedly but man Ollies skatepark in florence Kentucky is close to closing its doors. Ive recently learned. My worrie is for the local skaters summer time no ollie is fine theres a outdoor park near by. But winter time is not good for them. I grew up in an area where there was nothing for us kids aside from Sex drugs and drinking. Id hate to see a park thats been around as long as ollies has been go down do to funding. Not asking for you to spend out money to save it just reaching out because you know and love the skate community... if you could put a word out that would be awesome thank you..... sorry for the bad punctuation in a hurry...

I just got my first board on Amazon.... it wasn't this board but a more expensive board, around 45$ and it seems to work pretty good as a first board. Idk much about skateboarding hardware and set ups but I use to be a roller figure skater for 10 years and we use the same type of trucks and bearings so I'm somewhat familiar. The trucks dont seem great but ard soild enough and the board itself seems soild. The only thing is the wheels probably aren't the best and neither are the bearings but those are somewhat easy to replace and I probably already have bearings I can use that are better.

I really don’t know what skateboard to get. I just want something that I can cruise around on, I’m not really into the tricks, and all the boards I find are so expensive. I don’t have any nearby skateboard shops that I know of, so I’d probably use amazon, or just a site online. I’m 13, so what size board would I get, what type of wheels, and what type of board? I want it to at least be under 25 dollars, a little higher is okay. Could someone please help me out? Thank you in advance. 😊
