I am sad, yet very uplifted. I am sorry for your loss. For the world's loss. I'm glad they left a good impression on you and your life. I totally agree John, remember the life that was lived don’t let it get it to you in bad ways because they wouldn’t want you to feel sad for them of course it’s part of being human to let out your emotions and don’t let it bottle up because you will find closure in expressing how you feel people cope with things in different ways we just have to do what we need and live on remembering them with joy and do the best we can in life. I guess deep inside I know I have the drive to be a better, more dependable person. My peeps used to look up to me. Without knowing it my younger brother really looked up to me, even after he grew taller than me (lol). I sank and sunk deeper and deeper into my own internal turmoil.
Indecisiveness became self-destructive depression real quick.
I found myself lost.
This depressed 16 year old became 31 in a blink...
This stoner guitar player that loved the universe of possibilities buzzing in my head now just wants to be present.
I want new experiences not long fights (i always lose) against change.
I can see the path now. I just gotta walk it.
I feel like skateboarding again will be a life altering endeavor. I need the exercise. It'll help me stay sober and, most importantly, engaged and present in my own life.

In fact, this whole video in general, especially getting to the end of it there. I watched your inspirational speech at the end and it was pretty much perfect timing, it was synchronicity for me, like when you see or hear something, and it wouldn't have near the same meaning had you heard it 20 min earlier or 20 min later.

John I live in ny and have been skating for a year now ur the reason I started skating.
John you are amazing
this is powerful. i have lost way too many to suicide, cancer and drugs, it tears you down and at times i sat inside for weeks thinking about things i normally wouldn't, but the solution is just to say fuck it, go outside and live for a moment. i skate every day, but i don't have anyone to skate with every day. and my friends at school ask why i skate so much. i think it's just a way for me to stay happy and positive. if i didn't have skateboarding i would probably not have been alive today because of depression and other shitty things. i thank skateboarding a million times for making me get out anger, and make me stay positive.
Chad and Mike will be missed and thank you for showcasing some of their incredible skating.

True! I stopped skating a plaza near my house because it's too slippery and I noticed that when I did tricks on normal ground I had to relearn/readjust them.

The ground is usually more slippery at newer skateparks. I remember when they first built my local park you would slip just walking around. Now the concrete seems pretty standard after a little bit of wear.

I met mike once in stl at a birdhouse demo and I filmed a clip of him and he gave me props after I filmed the trick for him it made my day better just the looks on his face after he saw the clip. Sucks to see him gone.

My condolences for your losses, death is the only thing guarantee so why not live life to the fullest? Im glad these guys inspired you to continue chasing your dreams, regardless of what other people think and the best way to honor their memory is to continue passing on those values like you are! Still new to the channel but these videos are definitely helping inspire me to keep pursuing my own passions and I def appreciate the effort you put in.
