  • Bakuchiol a skin care ingredient found in many formulations including Anteage. It is a retinol like compound that is plant based. It uses retinol receptors. Is it better than retinol or are there advantages? Bakuchiol can be used for many instead of retinols.

    I used to be on a micro encapsulated form of Retin A at the strongest dose (.1%) and while it didn’t make me flake or anything, no irritation, I felt that I was getting some broken capillaries. However, I didn’t want to get off of it because it was really improving my suuuuuper oily skin. I started using Altreno, which is a .05% strength, but this form of Retin A also has hyaluronic acid, soluble collagen, and glycerin. I LOVE this product. I’ve heard that Retinaldehyde - especially the Osmosis variety- does just as good of a job without broken capillaries.

    The thing about skincare products is consistency. I’ve been using “Retinol” containing products for about 3 months and have seen some improvement in fine lines and wrinkles but nothing earth-shattering. I’m 65 and will continue to use until I’m 95 🤷🏼‍♀️.

      Try combining it with a good grass-fed liver supplement (sourced from New Zealand preferably) - Liver is high in Vitamin A, as well as loads of other micro nutrients and minerals our bodies thrive on. @@anjaxtv yes!! I was vegan for 5 years and decided I would start adding organ capsules, pasture raised (organic) eggs and fish into my diet to hopefully help bring inflammation down throughout my body + improve my skin/hair! I noticed right away I had an insane amount of energy and my hair had finally stopped falling out. About a month later I noticed the pain I’d coped with from my scoliosis for years had subsided!! I’ve now been consistent with taking these products and eating this way for over 2 years now and have been able to maintain these benefits. If you’re vegetarian I would recommend incorporating Sun Warrior’s Vegan Collagen supplement, Ghee butter, Shilajit, Pearl Powder and Eucommia Bark! Unfortunately there are no vegan/vegetarian alternatives that will be able to come close to the benefits organ and gland therapy can provide for our bodies, but these are extremely beneficial as well!!! :)

    I think it’s super important to note how preliminary the data is to support the efficacy of both Bakuchiol AND growth factors in skincare. And here is a line whose foundation rests on both of them. There is little research to support their efficacy. These are some very expensive products to be promoting with little data to support them. People should know that.

    A little to expensive for me right now. Have shelled out a bit of cash for treatments and now Christmas, time off from work because of the holiday and now freezing snow ice here in Seattle!! Maybe once real life takes off again. I do pay just a 10.00 copay for my tretanoin, this helps!! New insurance company rocks! 😉😆

After one month I’ve had to back off a bit but am resuming and hoping to make it through the adjustment period. I’ll give it a full go but keep this option in mind if the irritation is too much. Are the collagen stimulating effects roughly the same, in your opinion?

    I've been using a face cream fir a few months now with Bakuciol. It's in an Arbonne line of their skin care. It's nice, it must work very slowly bc my skin is firmer, something I notice now and then. If you're looking for a dramatic effect, it won't happen with this ingredient.
    I'd like to ask if it's safe for use on lips?

    Hi Dr Rajani
    I use the AntiAge system religiously and love it. I was not aware that there was Bakuchiol in it. Should I cease using it prior to any peels or micro needling procedures ? I always was told to stop using retinols before peels and heavy duty treatments. Is there a similar warning for products containing bakuchiol?

    I have an appointment with a Dermatologist in a couple of months. I am hoping to get a Rx for Differen ( adapalene ) for the warts on my feet ( dorsal - not plantar ) and moving up my legs.
    I know it is off label, but there have been limited studies that show complete eradication for people who have had warts for many years.
    For me - 18 years. They came after 2 years spent teaching swimming at our local pool. I have used many painful treatments, seen at least 3 other Dermatologists. But that was years ago.
    I am hoping this one will give Differin a chance. I know Doctors don’t like to go off label. But I am hoping. The warts are actually in layers.

    Hi Dr. Ranjani, I really appreciate the info! Couple of questions:
    1. Is bakuchiol as sensitizing to the sun as retinol? Can it be used during day?
    2. Anteage directions suggest usage day and night, is there any benefit to using twice a day?
    3. If using Anteage system, is there any contraindications if applying the bakuchiol in the system and then applying retinol?
    Thanks in advance!

    I have been using retinol for a few years but I got tired of the side effects dryness, irritation, peeling and redness. I decided to try some different products instead. One of them was the inkey list bakuchiol 1%. I used it at night for 2 months. My skin stayed glowy and hyperpigmentation kept away. But it didn't help me with oiliness and acne and the fine lines began to return. I know they say to use it twice a day, but then one bottle would have only lasted a month so it's not that affordable then. Back on retinol because I think it's more anti aging and works better for my skin issues. Lately I've been using only adapalene AKA differin with fantastic results and less side effects than retinol. My skin looks better than it has in years at age 45. I do think that the inkey list bakuchiol is a good one, just not the same as retinoids. I wonder if the percentage was higher if it would work better.

    • @jessicaguevara9650
      @jessicaguevara9650 2 роки тому +1

    • @pajamamama5965
      @pajamamama5965 2 роки тому

      @@jessicaguevara9650 for me there were side effects with different as well in the beginning but now I can use it every other night with no side effects. That never happened when I used retinol. And I had literally no side effects at all from bakuchiol. The inkey list is the only affordable product on the market for that right now, but they want you to use it twice a day to try to get the same results as retinol
