I get constant compliments about my skin. At 70, I have no fine lines or dark spots. Thank you for a better understanding of how these products work. Shared more below...

I have been doing med depth combo chemical peels every 8 weeks ish (excluding summer time) for the past 5 years using two layers of jessners peel and 2-3 layers of TCA 13% topped with a finishing coat of vitamin a. This has transformed my skin! I used to have baddddddd acne and premature ageing from sunbathing (wrinkles, sun spots, uneven complexion all at the young age of 25). I no longer have any resting wrinkles on my face, hardly ever have a breakout, just use a tinted spf 50 sunscreen and mascara and I’m good to go. I look younger now than I did at 25 when I was partying and suntanning without protection ☺️. It also took me about 2 years to work my way up to this level and I use retin a 0.05% 5 times a week. I started off under the care of a dermatologist who walked me through the process of the combo peel, and taught me what is normal sensations and things to avoid. Thanks to this I have had no adverse effects. Great video! You nailed all the info

We use natural fruit acids and the results are exceptional. Think Grapefruit, papaya, sugar cane and I always recommend actual aspirin ( natural salicylic acid) mixed with manuka honey for example as a mask.
My only added note is to say to not use actives before your skin is ready. We see so many clients coming in that have done peels or intense actives and their skin is in really bad shape.

I love acids, I use them all the time.
It depends on the result I want to have, I mix an acid with water in a bottle and I use it as a serum, the effects are spectacular. My favorites are, salicylic because so simple to use even at 25% it remains a mild acid but with an exceptional restorative power, mandelic I find it very effective to treat aging, I also use lactic acid in my opinion much better than glycolic acid. And of course my favorite is the TCA.
I do at the least 2 full face and neck TCA peel every year. I also do TCA peels on the body, and I can tell you that the results are breathtaking.
Acids are on my top list for having great skin, nothing works better against aging.
Guys if you don't use them, you should start now.

My face use to be a giant oil slick until I used a higher % of salicylic acid exfoliant, homemade chamomile/AC Vinegar toner, and stopped using a moisturizer. Took 30 years and $$,$$$ to figure that out. Face has never been happier.

Thank you for such detailed information on the different forms of acids to improve your skin. I'm currently going through various treatments using VI Peels and other acids to help with acne scars. My dilemma is that I self-tan....and want to self tan my face as well....so I don't look weird. Any suggestions on how to be able to use these to treat my skin but also be able to self-tan???

I am a lite skinned Latina and I used Wishtrend Mandelic acid and immideatly got a large brown spot the size of my pinkie nail. Also I used Paula's choice 2 percent bja and got more brown spots. I've decided to stick with hyrolonic acid which only makes my face red and retinol with naicinimide at nite.

    • @nikc1520

You know Hyaluronic acid isn’t really acid right? It shouldn’t make you red at all, because it isn’t an acid.

Whenever you use an acid you must be very careful to protect your skin from the sun. It is exfoliating off the dead outer layer and exposing new tender skin. You have to be even more diligent than normal because acids cause you to be more sun sensitive.

I have trouble with serums and I really want to use one but I have trouble with “pilling” when I put a moisturizer over it. I’m pretty sure my skin is exfoliated enough. Don’t know why I can only take a moisturizer on my skin, I really want to use HA and Vit C serum. It shouldn’t have to be one or the other. Ugh.

    • @norvaz94
      @norvaz94 2 роки тому +2

Just using a face wash only would be beneficial if you can’t use the serums. I would let it sit in my skin for a couple of minutes before rinsing.

You are probably using too much serum, and maybe not allowing some time (5 minutes) for the serum to penetrate before applying moisturiser.

Greetings, what type of reaction do you have from mandelic acid? Personally, I use the PHA serum by natorium. It is a very gentle and hydrating chemical exfoliant serum. Research it and try it you might like it. Of course, do a spot test first behind your ear. Also look into fruit acids, that might be a great alternative for you as well. If you're sensitive to acids in general, stick with lower percentages one, two or three% depending on the acid. Hope this helps.💓
