I found an abandoned mineshaft, a few dungeons, and huge lava caves with this trick, it really helps. The lava cave however, I was still a little bit screwed because the shore was out of my reach to make any sort of bridge, haha
I had never seen this before. Now I'll have to experiment to see if I'm coordinated enough to make it work (i.e. be faster than the 1x2 method). Thanks, Edd! :-)

Haha indeed! Glad to hear that this technique is getting some use though =D And it's easier to do now, since the offhand has been added ^-^
Just get a second water bucket and turn all the lava into stone
Edit: nevermind you probably already did that
I think this technique should be called, 'My Water Broke'
x'D Not even sure how to reply, yet I kind of agree
That was a very professional video! Loved it :)
Thank you very much =D
or you could stand in the middle of 2 blocks and dig down so when you mine one you stay on the higher block to see if there is lava in the lower one!
This was really well done, I might try this.
Thanks for the tip, and great video! :D
Thank you very much, I hope you have fun with it =D
thanks for this, really helped!
No problem haha these days you can have the bucket in your offhand to make it easier =]
