This has been my favorite Boston song for a very long time! Very impressed with Lexington Labs near perfect rendition of this wonderful song! Most of all I realize now how lucky we all were as young people of the 70’s to have all this wonderful music of that time! Most of all to have been the musical genius of Boston to have created these songs that I once took for granted back in the 70’s. This song has certainly stood the test of time. Love this song!

Man, you guys KILLED it! That was truly amazing. Every note that I anticipated was right there, from the reverb in the first solo to the real hand claps. You must have spent months perfecting that. Great, great job!!!
Absolutely brilliant!!! I’m sure every member of Boston would be very humbled by you paying such a tribute to such a beautiful song. Well done! And the guitars captured Tom’s sound perfectly!
In my opinion, this is the best Boston song, so under rated. The guitar work here is pristine, great tone, the harmony dual solos are fantastic. And a VERY under rated bass player. The bass line is practically lead bass through out the song. best cover I ever heard, this band is phenomenal
I hardly ever, ever leave a comment but wow, just wow. I'm gonna piggy back alot of what the other comments said and that THAT was just superb. I found this video like I do so many others, by venturing down the rabbit hole, and you ladies and gents have done one the greatest bands ever (imho) a great service! To be honest I was immediately skeptical, but very curious, when I seen the title and the cover song but man, so glad I kept going. It's the first video I've seen of yours but I'll definitely check out more but with that said and if you haven't already maybe kick "a man I'll never be" around some? love that song.........ps. can you give a rundown of the gear your using? absolutely love Bostons tone rich sound...
thanks for checking this out and i greatly appreciate the kind post! I'm playing the acoustic so i'm pretty much straight into the board. The two electric players have very different rigs that i couldn't do justice explaining. Maybe they will chime in and help out - thanks again - so appreciated!
Curtis Haigler Hey Curtis! We really appreciate the kind words, and glad you enjoyed the video. I'm playing the Dark Blue PRS Singlecut Trem guitar. My rig was fairly straight forward and simple. Just a 4x10 Fender Hot Rod DeVille (clean). Pedal wise I used a Hermida Zendrive stacked with a Boss Turbo Distortion. Zendrive at a low gain crunch setting. I had the Boss Turbo sitting around and thought it would be a good fit tone-wise. Delay was a MXR Carbon Copy, along with a Boss DD2 - used occasionally during pick slides. Overall the Boss GE 7 EQ really helped shape that Boston tone...many hours spent tweaking each frequency until I got as close as I could. Again, thanks for the kind words! This was an experience of a lifetime for me, and I made some great new friends in the process.
I just now discovered this Band ! A fantastic Boston song played more beautifully than the original. The three gorgeous ladies singing back-up, added to the already epic tone of these immensely talented musicians. There should be millions of views !!!
Hey Dale, nothing I can add that hasn't already been said! I beg to question, Suppose Tom Scholz contacted U because he was so impressed with your recreation of his master work. After chatting, he suggested U guys play another Boston song including HIM in it? Knowing U already completed the "set", Would U do it?
The Boston ONE album has to be one of the greatest Rock -N- Roll Master Pieces of all time. To think that most of it was recorded in Tom Scholz's Basement is just totally crazy........
Your version is a little more vocally languid than the original -- very cool sound. Still amazes me that basically Tom Scholz recorded all of this incredible stuff by himself with a hired vocalist and drummer. As so many have said on this thread, this is some of the best guitar solo work in rock music. They are so melodic! My ears know every note by heart...
Hey you guys! I'm 54 years old, I've listened to Boston all my life. And after closing my eyes and listening to your rendition of this song brought tears. You guys a spot on! I will root for yall anytime. Thanks for the memories!
thanks for the very kind post...when we shot this, during the outro solos that Tom and James are playing i seriously had tears in my eyes - it just was so moving to be playing this tune in real time and it sound so close to the original track...not bragging because it too a lot of work but it was worth it - thanks for checking this one out!
One of my favorite songs... you all are great! Great Vocals. Great bass roaming all though the song. Great drumming. Great backing vocals. Great solos and dual guitars. Great hand clapping. Everyone having Fun. I was hand clapping at home. Awesomeness. THANKS!
Lexington Lab Band. My hats off to you all!! OMG! Hitching a Ride. Musically, Lyrically, Spirituality...this song has it all. You all hit every point Boston tried to make! My heart soars when I hear this song and this time was NO exception.
I just sat here with my mouth agape. I don't have the words to describe how incredible that was to not only listen to, but watch as well. Who woulda thought that anyone could have properly covered that hyper-produced, multi layered, and well known song from Boston? If you would have asked me if I thought anyone could have pulled that song off I would have said no way. Just amazing. Hey isn't that John Paul Jones' rune from Led Zeppelin IV on the acoustic guitar's fretboard?
I don't know which LLB song is my favorite, but this may be the best. I'm having coffee, getting ready for work, watching this again. Just to get the day off on the right foot. Great stuff here!
Having grown up listening to Boston I'm amazed at how you captured even the sound of the recording pretty damn close :) Great job! The best I've ever heard any cover band produce!
hello Brian...thanks for the kind post and i agree, it was such a thrill watching these guys play and we appreciate you sharing your time to check this out!
Long Live Boston...that first Album was by far THEE greatest R-N-R Album of all time! R.I.P. Brad Delp!! These talented musicians nail ..every guitar lick, drum beat, hand clap...they nail it...Bravo..would love to see you live!!!
In 1989, I win $1000 from a local radio contest that had a compilation of 1 second snippets of sings. I recognized this song as one of the snippets from the unmistakable duet. Thanks to Boston for being one of the best bands to for the Rock and ROLL lover that I am!!!
I listen to so many different artist from Classical through GWAR and I must say this song from being written to the instruments being played is probably the best song I've ever heard
As every previous comment, I just can add that as Boston fan who still have original vynil álbum as one of my all time favorites, to discover this Lexington Lab Band playing with such feeling and such respect their songs reminds me why I still love this both bands and why music is such a moving drive force to many people, and same as I listen Brahms, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and enjoy a great performance from great orchestras and great conductors, I really enjoy a group of musicians commited to deliver such a great performance as you do on this aparently simple songs. This make us humans, and make live for ever music, even when it last four minutes. Four minutes of eternity for a life dedicated to the music. Can't feel more grateful with all of you, from México. Bless all of you!
How wonderful it must feel to be able to play such music. I can only imagine... Everyone is just so dang faithful to the original, yet they're digging in - very human, not at all like a machine or computer duplicating something. Even Mike's engineering and mixing is damn near perfect, too. - Ed on the Ridge
Incredible job. One of the most underrated guitar solos in the history of rock. Fantastic vocals, harmonies, and rhythm guys. You folks did your homework. Absolutely stellar. BRAVO
Best band group in a long time. Guys are great. This coming from a guy who grew up in the 60”and 70”s with the best music ever- oh and the coolest cars.
A fantastic rendition a wonderful song. I almost had to wipe a tear from my eye. Music from a time of minibikes, first kisses and innocence. Thanks it was beautiful.
I would love to experience the joy you all must feel when you crush a song like this one. For sure the best one yet. I have many more to listen to but this is my favorite so far. The talent you all have is priceless. Thanks for sharing.
I'm new to hearing all of this as of the last 3 days....They are as good as it gets. All band members are always superb in their contribution. I'm a guitarist of 36 years so I was particularly fond of and impressed with, the outstanding work done here as is required for this song.

Even better than the Boston live version from 1988 that's circulating here on UA-cam
I think Boston's version is a little better...

Man, you guys KILLED it! That was truly amazing. Every note that I anticipated was right there, from the reverb in the first solo to the real hand claps. You must have spent months perfecting that. Great, great job!!!
greatly appreciate you checking this out!
Boston....you Ladies and Gentlemen of Rock!!!!...thanks for this...AMAZING rendition...Legends you are...enough said!!!❤❤
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
Absolutely mind blowing how LLB can nail it every time.
Truly the best musicians and vocals around.
thanks so much for checking this out!
As a harmony junkie, THOSE BACK UP VOCALS!!
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
Great job once again my brother Dale & LLB! WOW! What a great old tune! Keep the strings clean & clip the nails when a person can. Amazing production.
thanks so much sir for the kind post and i love your posts! your friend, dale.
I was wondering if I could use your music in my drone footage of mountains & landscapes & my family stuff? Thanks yes or no, my brother!
Bravo bravo bravo!! Great job. Looks like you are having alot of fun.
sincere thanks for checking this out...greatly appreciated!
Absolutely brilliant!!! I’m sure every member of Boston would be very humbled by you paying such a tribute to such a beautiful song. Well done! And the guitars captured Tom’s sound perfectly!
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
In my opinion, this is the best Boston song, so under rated. The guitar work here is pristine, great tone, the harmony dual solos are fantastic. And a VERY under rated bass player. The bass line is practically lead bass through out the song. best cover I ever heard, this band is phenomenal
hello Butch..agree sir, maybe the best Boston song of all - to my ears it never gets old. Thanks for your very kind post, your friend, dale.
Magical sound , well done
we all greatly appreciate you checking this one out!
Awesome job guys. Always spot on!
thanks Rich for giving this a listen sir...hope all is good your way, your friend, dale.
The best covers of Boston I have ever heard. Guitars, vocals, drums and mix are just bang on. Goodness you guys/gals are just great together.
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
I just keep coming back to listen. The ladies on backing vocals adds such a unique sonic flavor to the Boston songs.
I just now discovered this Band ! A fantastic Boston song played more beautifully than
the original. The three gorgeous ladies singing back-up, added to the already epic tone
of these immensely talented musicians. There should be millions of views !!!
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
BIG yes for me!
My ears know every note by heart...
thanks for taking your time to check this out!
must be 10,000 times now......
sincere thanks for the kind post and sharing your time to check this out!
THANKS!
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
The only time this sounded better was when I was making out to it in the back of my Mom's 1973 Sedan Deville.
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
Lost count of how many times I've come back to watch this. It's so uplifting 💪
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
Just another day. Get home from work, watch another LLB cover, and remember that there is hope for this world. I could listen all day
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
I love that you guys play the music that I love to listen to but I’m too young to have seen the original bands perform. It means a lot to me!
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
The best descriptive word for this rendition of "Hitch a Ride" is "outstanding"!!! Found it last week and I've listened to it 10 times already.
greatly appreciate the very kind post and thanks for sharing your time to give this a listen!
Lexington Lab Band. My hats off to you all!! OMG! Hitching a Ride. Musically, Lyrically, Spirituality...this song has it all. You all hit every point Boston tried to make!
My heart soars when I hear this song and this time was NO exception.
great thanks for sharing your time to give this a listen!
Hey isn't that John Paul Jones' rune from Led Zeppelin IV on the acoustic guitar's fretboard?
great thanks for checking this out and the kind post..appreciated!
I don't know which LLB song is my favorite, but this may be the best. I'm having coffee, getting ready for work, watching this again. Just to get the day off on the right foot. Great stuff here!
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
My favorite drummer and bass player, the angelic voices of the Ladies, perfect!
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
Having grown up listening to Boston I'm amazed at how you captured even the sound of the recording pretty damn close :)
Great job! The best I've ever heard any cover band produce!
Thanks for sharing your time and love of music! your friend, dale
Fabulous, fantastic. The best cover band ever. Nicely done friends. 😎🌹🎸🇺🇲
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
why this does not have a million plus views i cannot understand. simply beautiful and from 2:25 on is pure "ear candy"!! RIP Brad
great thanks for checking this out..sincerely appreciated!
I love the lead guitarist on this. I’ve heard the song 1 million times but seeing the two go back-and-forth is awesome
hello Brian...thanks for the kind post and i agree, it was such a thrill watching these guys play and we appreciate you sharing your time to check this out!
They say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. I believe LLB has flattered the pants off Mr. Scholz and Boston. Truly wonderful.
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
Long Live Boston...that first Album was by far THEE greatest R-N-R Album of all time! R.I.P. Brad Delp!!
These talented musicians nail ..every guitar lick, drum beat, hand clap...they nail it...Bravo..would love to see you live!!!
thanks so much for checking this out...we sincerely appreciate it!
In 1989, I win $1000 from a local radio contest that had a compilation of 1 second snippets of sings. I recognized this song as one of the snippets from the unmistakable duet. Thanks to Boston for being one of the best bands to for the Rock and ROLL lover that I am!!!
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
One of my favourite Boston songs, and one of the prettiest - if I can use that word - solos (duo solos) of all time! Great job guys!!!
greatly appreciate the kind post and sincere thanks for checking this out!
It’s so perfect and beautiful... makes me sad, wishing I could be 15 again in 1976
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
Me too! And I WAS 15 in 1976!!!!!
I listen to so many different artist from Classical through GWAR and I must say this song from being written to the instruments being played is probably the best song I've ever heard
greatly appreciate the kind post and sincere thanks for sharing your time to check this out!
Bless all of you!
thanks for the very very kind post and sharing your time and love for music...we greatly appreciate it!
today's music don't have the same soul. thanks for keeping the good stuff alive
Thanks for listening!
No matter how many times I watch this, it just makes a big smile break out on my face.
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
How wonderful it must feel to be able to play such music. I can only imagine...
Everyone is just so dang faithful to the original, yet they're digging in - very human, not
at all like a machine or computer duplicating something.
Even Mike's engineering and mixing is damn near perfect, too.
- Ed on the Ridge
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
Everything was Tight.
Lead Vocals, Backup & Rhythm Vocals, Bass, Guitar Leads, Rhythm acoustic and drums. Perfection all around.
Well done.

One of the most underrated guitar solos in the history of rock. Fantastic vocals, harmonies, and rhythm guys. You folks did your homework. Absolutely stellar.

Best band group in a long time. Guys are great. This coming from a guy who grew up in the 60”and 70”s with the best music ever- oh and the coolest cars.
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
A fantastic rendition a wonderful song. I almost had to wipe a tear from my eye. Music from a time of minibikes, first kisses and innocence. Thanks it was beautiful.
Thanks so much for checking this out..greatly appreciated!
I would love to experience the joy you all must feel when you crush a song like this one. For sure the best one yet. I have many more to listen to but this is my favorite so far. The talent you all have is priceless. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing your time and love of music! your friend, dale
I'm new to hearing all of this as of the last 3 days....They are as good as it gets. All band members are always superb in their contribution.
I'm a guitarist of 36 years so I was particularly fond of and impressed with, the outstanding work done here as is required for this song.
Thanks for sharing your time and love of music! your friend, dale
