In February 2020 I had an interview at a restaurant on that beach Before arriving there I risked a penalty on the tram because I didn’t have the ticket to ride... I was living in Amsterdam where I worked for 6 months and after this interview I started working in Hilversum Memories...
Since you like smaller towns and cities, and seeing now that you have a car at your disposal, you should really go visit Brielle (also named Den Briel) to the southwest of Rotterdam. It's a fort town that's not reachable by train. It's very quaint there and historic, with nice little alleyways and secrets to it, much like Delft. It isn't as big as Delft or Breda, though. You should definitely take a deep dive into its history. Close to Brielle is Hellevoetsluis which has a nice and historic port section that virtually hasn't changed since the 1600s. Also, Haarlem. Gotta see Haarlem. My favourite city.
Another big recommedation is a little town called Giethoorn. The nickname is Dutch Venice and you would see why. Now during the pandamic it's a good chance to visit it without thousands of other tourists at once like a crowded themepark.
I think it’s so nice to hear that my country is someone else’s dream country! Where are you from? And I hope you can visit the Netherlands really soon :)
No sharks in The Netherlands waters except for the really small kinds. The only dangerous animal in the Netherlands is wild boar crossing the street just in front of your car (but only in some forested parts)
@Hans Vuist Not entirely true , Blue Dogs do appear on our coast ( Blauwe haai ) and there are recorded cases of those attacking humans . Not sure if it ever happened here tbh though .

Check out kijkduin, it's a coastal part of den haag aswell . As of now it's not like scheveningen at all, but they are building a lot there, and they are planning to make it Holland's most impressive coastal place ...
The Netherlands has hundreds of km's of amazing beaches. It's basically one stretch of beach from Hoek van Holland to Den Helder. There's an annual 6 day beach walk (strand zesdaagse) on this part of the coastline. The islands directly south and north of this stretch are also amazing places, especially in summer time. Even the Port of Rotterdam has great areas for recreation. Near the Maasvlakte (a man made extension of the port into the sea) is the Slufter beach. Lots of kite surfing activity going on there, almost year round. The province of Zeeland is getting more and more popular with divers. It has cold water reefs and is teeming with marine life. In the right time you get to see thousands of cuttlefish mating. Lots of huge lobsters too. And no it's not allowed to take them out. 😉 The Wadden islands in the summer are absolutely stunning with more sunny days per year than the mainland. At low tide you can go on a guided walk to several islands. It's called wadlopen. You should check it out. The town in this video is Scheveningen and is part of the The Hague municipality. Rotterdam also has its own coastal town and that's Hoek van Holland. It's a similar great beach and right around the corner you can visit the massive Maeslant kering, two moving water barriers both the size of the Eiffel Tower but flat on the sides of the major waterway into the port of Rotterdam. When there's a storm surge these barriers pivot towards each other and close off the waterway entirely. Once every year they test the system and you can visit then also. They publish the date on their website.
@@VolpeWhereAreYou Next time.. Plenty of dive schools and clubs organize trips. Or if you have a friend who knows the area he or she can take you. The coastal areas are a vital part of the national water defense. Actually very few parts are built on as most are protected national parks and maintained by the waterschappen. The beaches are maintained and kept above a certain elevation. Lots of techniques are used with natural vegetation such as helm grass being a part of it.
