Leiden Has The Best Street Food Market in The Netherlands 🇳🇱

- Leiden is located in the Holland in the Netherlands and it is known for its traditional street food market. They have the best food market in the Netherlands according to the internet. I had to check it out to see what makes it stand out from the rest. I managed to find new Dutch food that I haven't tried before as well as some familiar Dutch food but I found the best home made version of them.
Leiden also has one of the best Christmas markets in all of Europe so it is no surprise that the traditioanl food market would be a hit as well. I hope I can re visit the market in Leiden one day again to get those fries again. The best I have ever had.

🤣
I'm from the Netherlands. It's good to see you like our food
Our food evertthing is from belgium
mooi om te zien hoe deze man van ons cultuur geniet
I'm originally from Germany but lived half my life here in Arizona, USA- this is super fascinating to see love Europe and it's food!
When u come to India for Traveling?
Greetings frome Cologne
how hard was adapting to the arizona heat when you first came there?
i mean, that's a kind of heat we don't even know in europe at all, different ballpoark
@MIEMPIE not by a long shot, but will it be the first german that can pronounce a V as a V rather than a W in spoken english? ;)
i'm dutch, germany are our eastern neighbours, the first thing that draws attention is how germans (and swedes even more) don't use the V sound natively and pronounce it as some kind of W when trying to use it, (whereas we use a pretty strong V sound,
@@dutchdykefinger it was extremely tough at first I’d be in the school bus asking everyone to open the windows because it’s easily 115 in the summer here! But I got accumulated quickly since I love warmth, the toughest part was not seeing snow and missing all the traditional food items in Germany I miss my Döner Kebab and Curry wurst 😭

Youre such a genuine and Sweet person. Love your videos!
Thank you so much!
The Netherlands looks so beautiful
Depends on where you, but yes, it's pretty beautiful here :)
The cookie looked like kokosmakroon, a cocnut macaroon. There is a wafer paper at the bottom, it’s eatable. We call it an ouwel.
A thick ouwel is a hostie, which christians got offered by priests during church celebrations, representing the body of Jesus Christ.
Edible
@@jellevansluis191 Indeed. Not 'eatable'.
@@Boxyde Luckily we all still understood each other, :)
This video made my day! ❤️
Love from the Netherlands! 🇳🇱

Love your food vlogs 😋. This is a big compliment for the Leiden’s market. Thank you for this video 😊
I used to live in Amersfoort in the early 70's. All the delicious food's you sample brings back a lot of memories. Wish I was ba k in the Netherlands now. Like your channel brother.
You are so friendly to everybody (by calling people your brother and respecting them)! I love to see it! ❤️
What a great Dutch sobriety from the fry seller, things like this make me proud on my country! 😁 Poffertjes with butter and "poedersuiker" powder sugar as we call it is one of the best things in existence!
Hey! Love your vids from my home country the Netherlands! About the 'loempia', you were totally right that it would be more delicious with a sweet (chili) sauce. That's the way it is normally eaten.
You've sold Leiden to me!!! Just the type of place I would love to visit 💖💖💖
Grateful!! This is why I enjoy your videos!!! Thank you.
I literally watch all of your videos and i love them sm.. you are amazing keep growing man...❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for visiting my city! Funny seeing you walking by my local coffeeshop.
Double AA represent
I believe they open from 4 in Leiden if I'm not mistaken
@@VolpeWhereAreYou Normally 4-10 but now 4-8 as closing two hours earlier stops corona according to the idiots in charge.
And all those years I thought it was completely normal to have our market.
Love how good dutch people are in english, for us dutch people it's hilarious 🤣
Lol
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA HALT DIE BACKEN MAN
Excellent video! We too visited Leiden’s market day and we agree it was fabulous! Thanks for bringing us back! The food is delicious!
Loved the stroll & the eating parts👌
Vietnamese egg rolls are the best!! Pork, Shrimp, Glass noodles, Carrot, Salt and White Pepper. I could eat them by the dozen and still want more.
You made me appreciate the country i live in a bit more...market time this saterday😇
Really amazing....how good and beautiful people there...Thank you very much.
I live here! 😊 Greets from Leiden! 🇳🇱
Nice video! Greetings from The Netherlands
This seems to be a very interesting place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job! Subscribed!!
The paper under the Coconut cookie is eatable, that's candy paper, best tasting part
Nice to see the genuine interest in our little country and our food of course ... shame about Covid otherwise the experience might have been different.
Big fan from 🇵🇭 sir I really enjoyed watching your video 😊
The guy with the eggrolls/loempia 11:39 is my homie!! Haha, every wednesday in Rotterdam. if you have not been at the market in Rotterdam.. do come!
Love the reviews man.
Man you are like a window to me that opens to the world
water is dripping out of my mouth, damn those look so delicious. Nice vid c:
If you just took away the few modern embellishments, this town would be indistinguishable from what it must have been 50-70 years ago. Love It. Thanks for showing me this place Volpe!
Pretty much
that is good ......... food from every country in this world ...
The absolute best vlogger
You should try “kibbeling” at a fish store, with extra fish spices ! You’re gonna love it.
Heeft die al gedaan
haha ik had het gister nog gegeten
Heerlijk
ik zit nu kibbeling te eten wow
Goede kibbeling heeft geen extra kruiden nodig. Sommige viskarren gebruiken die kruiden om bagger kwaliteit te verbloemen.
great video, loved it!
You should really visit the market in The Hague! Great video :)
Born and raised in northern nertherlands; i go to almost each weeks market to buy my favorite loempia and i have never heard of deep fried nuts.. based on your reaction i'm giving this a try myself!
Thanks for sharing this we all missing this whit the lockdown
The paper under the cocosmakroon is edible :) we call it ‘eetpapier’.
Ouwel klinkt beter
Very interesting in your channel in my heart
Love the video dude, you seem cool 😎...i get a proud feeling when foreigners appriciate my country 😆
Hi! Glad you enjoyed the food here in the NL!
You should have went to the market in The Hague! Much cheaper and more diversity in types of food! The market is a good reflection of the people who live here in the Netherlands.
Keep up the content and stay safe 👊🏽
Next time! Sadly I missed out on it
The first cookie was a Bitterkoekje, that second one a Kokuskrans, that white stuff is eatable, we call it Eetpapier (Eatable paper)
Of snoeppapier or candypaper! ✌🏼

You should go to the market in The Hague! I always went with my mom as a kid and I have some good memories from it especially the tasty snacks ☺️
Woh Nice vlog! Should visit grandbazaar in Beverwijk
It seems this country has a varieties of street food market.
yup, I seem to always find new food and a reason to make a video about it
Make sure you try sinterklaas sweets, pepernoten and speculaas. You have until december 5th
er zit op de haarlemmer straat een van Delft winkel met verschillende soorten kruidnoten. weinig mensen eten pepernoten.
I mean. In December 6th most of the Sinterklaas food are 2 for 1 or better.
Cool ce marché 👍😘
Say what you will, we do indeed have little of our "own" cuisine (if anything, fusion-cooking is our forté), other then the deepfried stuff or pastries. But dang, do we indeed welcome all the other cuisines with open arms, eh? :) I love my little country.
Amazing... I luv ur haircut.. Keep Going man.. Love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳

Beautifull e big market.
I've watched most of your Netherlands videos now and dude seriously...how are you not like 500lbs yet lol. I wish l could eat like that haha

He forgot to tell you, that they were fried twice. First in the right pan at 150°c, then cooled on the shelf above and then fried the second time in the left pan at 170°c!
Snacks at 180°c. 🧐
That's the way we fry in The Netherlands! 😋👌🏼😉
Good to know!
Do you know what type of potatoes they use ?
@@malmoran8643 depends there are multiple types like Bintjes , Frieslanders , Agria , Desiréé , Première and Santé .

Good job bro love from India ❤
The best thing to try.. is a fried turk. Thats really good !!!
As soon as the bread was offered, I missed Sophie!
The 2nd nut stand called "ILIAS" is very well known in the Netherlands, they have delicious peanut butter.
You should come to the market in Alphen aan den Rijn! (On Saturday) Or the one in Almere is also awesome! :)
0:35 lol was not expecting hearing turkish suddenly
My hometown!! Wooh :) Glad you enjoyed!! By the way I absolutely hate how that guy who sells you the fries doesn’t listen to what you are saying... So rude. Omfg

Hahaha, everybody have the best frites from The Netherlands!!! I think you are very hungry every time!
that cookie with the paper underneath it , the paper is the actual coco's flavour , its edible. nice vid bruff
My home town!
Man, these videos are making me hungry...
You and me both!
Finally someone that puts a decent amount of powderd sugar on the poffertjes😂😂😂
Heerlijk die man bij de patat, half nederlands half engels😂😂 (love the man with the fries, he spoke half dutch half english)😂
The weird cookie you had is a bitterkoekje it's made from bitter almonds egg whites and sugar. We Dutch use the term cookie more loosely than English people would
And the paper on the coconut cookie is fully edible
Better call it Volpe what do you eat.
Love to watch it and great to see you in my country shame you can't see all because corona. Are you gonna visit Zwolle?
You should've tried the loempia/eggroll stand in the Haarlemmerstraat! They have one of the best loempia's in the Netherlands. And yeah I've tried a lot of them in the most big cities haha. Even the hot sauce is delicious and homemade!
Thanks for the tip!
Broodje frikadel & friet with lots of mayo is THE best !
