Ever wonder how the eighth Fast and Furious installment got its title? Why did Vin Diesel’s character come up with such a convoluted plan to save the day? Is The Rock just a straight up superhero now? Step inside the pitch meeting that started it all!
Dom and Letty Ortiz are on their honeymoon in Havana Cuba when a hacker named Cipher blackmails Dom into turning evil! He’ll have to go against the family (also against Deckard and Shaw) to do her bidding. The Fate of the Furious is an absolutely insane movie that proves that the Fast and Furious franchise has gone completely off the rails. From zombie car attacks to nuclear missiles, things have gotten pretty nuts.
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to The Fate of the Furious! It’ll be super easy, barely an inconvenience.

I appreciate Ryan always drawing us something different while he waits
His interpretation of the Fast & the Furious Franchise was bang on. That's Vin Diesel!
Funfact: He actually isn't waiting, because of the magic of.... that's just not how it works, okay.
@@MasterCrumble I'm sure he is waiting, he has all the drawing to do and what else would he do during the time the video runs!!!! He is waiting, okay!
“While he waits” silly! He isn’t waiting for anything! I’m sure he just sits there and doodles the drawings quietly for a few minutes 😅
Coffee Table Book of RGs greatest drawings accompanied by a 1 pager on the PM that went along with it. SOLD FOR CHARITY. Save the Writers Fund, or summin.
I LOVE “Hey shut up!” The quick delivery is just fantastic. What a great way to switch topics
The way it's delivered, I always think of it as one word, possibly in a tiny font size

SICK!!
agreed. This man is a gem, what an interesting age.
My new favourite is "I don't... I do not care" but hey shut up is a fav as well
"This phrase really worked well, maybe I'll bring that back" is comedy gold and should be in every video
I was about to say the same thing. You beat me to it. 😂👍👍
Doesn't have to be a phrase but could work for anything they will repeat in a franchise over and over again. Of course that's only possible for older titles where you know what comes after them or if you're really sure they will reuse that.
"Cars and butts and music, it's gonna be like a Pitbull video exploding!" is such an underrated line 😆
Question: Do you ever catch yourself saying any of your Pitch Meeting catchphrases in real life, and not ironically or on purpose?
hahahai hope this gets picked
I can definitely see him saying "Super easy. Barely an inconvenience." when someone asks if it was too much of a hassle lol
I actually did this today when someone asked me to show them an issue I found "Super easy, barely an inconvenience"
Who here hasn't said "super easy, barely an inconvenience" in daily life?
He has said "___ is tight" isn't used irl, "super easy...." started irl but shifted to vid and he'll use the same tone on some words both irl and online, like when saying "right" or "ok". Idr which vid but I'm sure it was a Revisit and prob in the last 2 mos.
"...so the movie can happen" is one of the most one-liners ever
I prefer that to "hey, shut up" personally.
That works
My personal favorite is "I dOn'T knOw."
I like it when things are TIGHT!
I try and work it into my daily comversations at least once a day.
As long as he keeps “wow wow wow” and “barely an inconvenience” I’m happy
Keeping favourite catchphrases in a UA-cam video series is TIGHT!
Don't forget "hey, shut up".
And "oh my god"
Yeah, yeah, yeah!
Super easy barely an inconvenience
Honestly, the "my physics instructor filed a restraining order against me" line put me in tears of laughter when I first saw this pitch meeting and actually encouraged me to watch the movie.
That’s my favorite pitch meeting line.
you riffing about Dom buying a baguette and a single rose literally had me in tears. good lord that was funny, sir.
Baguettes are tight!
I loved that part so much
@scorpiusbalthazar4327 that’s what xi said
Why is this funny??? It's just normal. But, then again, no one buys anything anymore by themselves. Use an app for a delivery service....sad.
The iPad would be my iPad when he’s supposed to tip😂
"It's logicalistic" still makes me crack up lmao
He's very knowledge
New recurring one-liner?
(Hint hint)
It’s logicalistic is super interesting, barely incoherent
F-8 of the Furious?
It's a part of my vocabulary since then
I love "I don't - I don't care! I do not care!". He said it a lot during the (old) Super Mario Bros. movie and I laughed so hard at it 🤣
It made that Super Mario Bros my favourite pitch meeting. He says it with a bit of anger, it's awesome.
@@kentmartin9289 The reason he really stuck the landing with that one was the increasing anger. Every time he says it, he's getting closer and closer to unbridled rage.
I think he said it a lot in Godzilla vs Kong too.
@@satana8157Getting double teamed is tight!
That’s my favorite line he says 😂
Him breaking down the absolute absurdity of Cipher closing his favorite coffee shop to show him stuff had me laughing way more than i was expecting. Because the thought process behind that is amazing!
Like, if she knew his normal route why not park anywhere there? Maybe it's explained in the movie like she didn't want anyone else who knows Dom's route being there but on its face definitely is bizarre.
Imagine he was like. Ahh you know what I don’t like the coffee elsewhere. I’ll skip coffee today and so he goes home instead.
He is legit hilarious. The bit about turning the tip screen around and it being the video literally made me drop my phone, i was laughing so hard 😂😂 there are a lot of ‘comedy’ channels on UA-cam, and even tho his formula is the same, every single pitch meeting video is funny.
I imagine she did the same thing in several other locations before that scene, each time waiting in vain. One time being too far away to be noticed, one time he was browsing Reddit and walked past her. And each time the plan got more convoluted, like Reddit shutting down for a few minutes so he had to put the phone away.
"It could have been an email" succinctly states how convoluted the plots are becoming.
If it were a new pitch meeting, screenwriter guy would’ve gone on an adventure to get his stack of papers 😂
I actually think Ryan put more thought into this movie that the actual screenwriter/s did.
What did you think about the movie
Anyone who thinks this has never written anything in their life.
Ryan barely has to think to make a pitch for Fast movies.
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 Just like how the writers barely have to think to make a Fast and the Furious movie.
Do you actually think padme could give birth better than Alaina? Don't be Ludacris!
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 Joker: Why so serious?. Now frankly, not gonna take it personal, you clearly saw this movie thought it was a masterpiece saw my comment raged like a madman and used chatGPT help you write a reply and felt better about yourself.
I just realized that I've never seen Ryan genuinely laugh before, when he wasn't acting out a bit. It's delightful.
I appreciate how much details you put into a scene that the writers clearly spent no time on 😂
The “my Physics teacher filed a restraining order against me” is one of his best jokes ever 😂
it is! rofl!
There's a joke in one of the transformers movie pitches he's describing the movie so we'll then just stops and says "hey do you have any games on your phone?" The execution is brilliant.
@@MadKieranM What is that joke about?
@@andrabook8758 WOW...its been YEARS since I saw someone writing "rofl" unironically.
@@Marquis-Sade you're welcome :).
It's not a common one liner but one I crack up with was in the Fast X pitch meeting. The "oh my god. I don't... I don't care." line from screen writer guy.
That really shows where this franchise is going... they just don't care about physics and wanna make good action scenes.
he only says that one for really, really bad movies. i remember it was in the meeting for the original Super Mario Bros and one of the Jurassic World sequels
@@attila0323 what they haven't figured out is that all the legendary action scenes *mostly* obey the laws of physics. these movies make Marvel look grounded sometimes.
I commented about that line on that video. I think "I don't care" will become the next one-liner
Mario brothers one too
The bit about Cypher’s first plan being a cashier and turning the iPad screen is gold
Loved that haha
Should have gone with "but she didnt get the job and had to go with plan b"
I hope they keep making fast & furious movies simply because the movie title guessing game they play in each f&f pitch is such a gem of a bit, i love it!
I really like the "I don't care" lines from screen writer guy. He just keeps emphasizing more and more that he just doesn't not care about a sense existing with each new upload
Ok, am I the only one who gets a huge burst of serotonin whenever I see Ryan’s actual genuine smile on camera?? Like, here at 7:12 and 7:18. This man is precious.

What was the movie you most struggled with because it just didn't offer that many opportunities to point out ridiculous choices? Was there a movie or show you gave up on because it was "too good"?
That is the one question I want to see answered. Please, Ryan! We need to know!
Edit: Okay, it's two questions, but who cares?
@@Lumberjack_Linnie I really wanted to condense it to one question but I didn't know how
in one of his revisits he said it was John Wick
Ryan please show my reply in the video!
Probably movies like John Wick, Joker and The Batman
"The long answer is noooooooooo..." made my day, thanks for the laugh Ryan! 🤣
"I'm gonna need you to get ALL the way off my back." always makes me laugh.
Ryan I love your work. I get that you must get the most traction for the latest releases, but could you do retro pitches for older movies like Casablanca, Rear Window, Citizen Kane, The Blob, Where Eagles Dare, Ben Hur and so on? It would give you chance to play with old timey typewriters in your backdrop!
Love this idea! Vintage screenwriter guy and producer guy would be hilarious 😂
"Yeah I gave them super human strength and invincibility, I thought that might be fun" made me laugh so hard I had to rewind twenty seconds.
if Vin Diesel sees this video, he will definitely have his game studio make that game.
and then Ryan will definitely make that pitch meeting.
and then all will be right in the world.
Do a special pitch meeting where it's Writer guy pitching to Producer guy that's being played by Diesel.
I for sure would play that game and watch that Pitch Meeting.
Wait, Vin Diesel has a game studio?

Wow-wow-wow-wow-wow-wow-wow-wow-wow. Wow. This is my favorite "revisited" pitch meeting. Not for the pitch itself, but the Q&A. Great questions, and I loved hearing your answers. 👍
I heard before that the props people like to use baguettes in shopping bags because they don’t want the audience wondering what’s in the bag or thinking that it’s important to the plot. But I appreciate that they went the extra mile with the rose, because it would have looked silly if it was just a baguette but it looked natural with the rose too. “Just put it all in the same bag”, he grumbled to the cashier
What's been the most painful film you've had to watch for Pitch Meeting, and how many times did you force yourself to watch it?
If I were to guess, I'd say Star Wars Holiday Special
Cats. Definitely Cats.

"It could have been an email..." the story of my work day 😄
You should do a "Pitch Meeting for Other Media" compilation with about 1 minute for each type: Pitch a Shakespeare play in 1600s, pitch silent movie (with music and subtitle) from the 1920s, pitch the Moon landing hoax from 1960s, pitch a caveman campfire story from 5000 years before human era, pitch meeting for an adult movie from the 1970s, etc. Yes, I added etc. because I want people to think I have more obvious ideas but really I run dry pretty quick.
Those AI renderings for materializing funny ideas are just about the perfect use case!
For the part where cipher made the coffee shop closed to take a different route why didn’t she just park outside his normal coffee shop lol
This.
Maybe the new spot was away from people and that's what she wanted?
@@scorpiusbalthazar4327 but if the coffee shop was closed they'd still be alone there
I think Ryan is missing what the writers wanted to show that she had reach. But like… closing a coffee shop doesn’t really do that lol. That’s why I assumed they did it at least.
@@thepebblesexplore83 makes sense. It shows she has some power.
The idea of doing a Pitch Meeting of a parody kind of makes me realize how hard it would be to parody Galaxy Quest as a StarTrek parod. It parodies the show, the actors, and the fandom while then turning it all around and showing why it's great.
Galaxy Quest was AMAZING!! It has everything! It was funny, romantic, little sad, had action. Sigourney Weaver, a baby Justin Long, professor Snape himself, Tim Allen, Tony Shaloub, it was epic!!!
@@keetasingletary Galaxy Quest is the best Star Trek movie that's not a Star Trek movie.
Yeah, that was quite a good one.
Love Galaxy Quest. It was phenomenal all around.
@@keetasingletary Tony is superb in that. The way every line is delivered like he's telling them the most unimportant thing he's ever heard.
"Hey guys... like they say the engine is about to explode, so maybe we should slow down or something?"
This is my favorite "Revisited" so far. The Pitch Meeting itself is fun, of course, but Ryan's discussion of the plot absurdities after was a great addition.
I involuntarily chuckle out loud at every single "hey shut up". Please keep it forever.
I just love Ryan's casual style, and the abrupt or convoluted intros and endings of the videos. Watching this made my day, so thank you
Watching Fast & the Furious movies for 20+ years and just now realizing that Dom is all about family is TIGHT!!!!!!!

question for the QnA section: you have in previous videos of this series talked about things you would do differently today like jokes youd leave out or change and things like that. how about one step further. is there something you did in earlier pitch meetings that you actively regret and would consider a mistake? or are you generally happy with them?
Regret isn't healthy for a comedian. Jokes bomb all the time, you gotta forget it and move on.
@@shorewall thats not really what im talking about, like i said in my original comment i dont mean jokes he isnt happy with

Question for the Q&A: what makes you decide how often and when to use clips from the movies thruout the sketch? I feel like some videos have so many clips from the movies and others are almost entirely just screenwriter guy and producer guy. Is this a copywright issue with certain movies or a style choice?
Could also be timing. When Ryan's not doing a movie on streaming or physical media, he can only show trailer clips because that's literally all he has.
we genuinely love you Ryan just want you to know you're so appreciated here fr
Thank you Ryan George for still still going strong years later. You are such a good rockstar!
"The short answer is no. The long answer is Nooooooooooo" is gold, my kids want it to become a catch phrase.
Hey Ryan. Awesome content. Please do a pitch for the Rush hour series.

I love how as I waited for the video to load my brain was already playing “Ryan from the thing you are currently watching.” I aspire to have as many catch phrases as you one day
Hey Ryan! I have been wondering if you have any Pitch Meetings that you were working on but stopped for some reason (couldn't come up with jokes, you weren't having fun making it, etc.)
Also you should totally do a Pitch Meeting for National Treasure!
That and the sequel are solid pitch meeting material I love this suggestion
Do you remember any times with a Pitch Meeting where you really struggled to get the "barely an inconvenience" catchphrase in? I'd be interested if any one ever got you close to not including it at all
Writing that in is always super easy, barely an inconvenience.
"You're in charge of the catchphrases!" this was so good!
This revisited Pitch Meeting confirmed two things for me:
1. I've never seen this movie
2. I'm glad I've never seen this movie.
The plot sounds like complete gibberish!
You should do some pitch meetings for some of the real old classics.
Like Casablanca, The Wizard of Oz, From here to Eternity, or Ben Hur. Or any of the many great movies made before 1970.
I agree, if for no other reason than I would love to see what the computer in the back ground would be.

I enjoy the "Behind the Scenes" aspect of your Revisit Pitch Meetings, especially your thought processes for why you did or did not do certain things during the skit, as well as the improvements you might have done to the original Meeting and/or that you will use in future Meetings. Keep them coming!
There you go, Algorithm!
These revisits are tight
Hello Ryan huge fan I have 2 questions
1. How many times do you typically watch a movie to write a full script
2. HOW DOES HE DIE IN 2004!!
"Hey, Shut Up" is the greatest line. I very much enjoyed "Whoops" "Whoopsie" when it was pitch meeting guy saying one line and producer guy saying the other and then a moment later, it was reversed. Do that again please and forever!
0:59 "It's like a Pitbull video exploded."
LOVE IT.
Loving the revisited series!
2 questions:
1. You sometimes have guests in the Pitch Meeting. Do you have some already planned, and who would be your ultimate guest star?
2. What about doing Pitch Meetings for music videos and\or commercials? They are short and most of the time weird and have nothing to do with the product or lyrics. I know they already can be funny, but I sometimes wonder... what was the pitch?
I love your "I don't knows" like saying, "How am I supposed to know what this character that I wrote is thinking?" Question. Where do you get your ideas for your First Guy Ever videos and how is the writing process different from Pitch Meetings? Love your work. Keep up the good work for as long as it makes you happy!
wait... I think this is the first time I see Ryan smile or laugh, this is amazing.
Ryan will youtooz be releasing another pitch meetings figure, would love to have both characters represented in your skits
Question: Have producer guy and screenwriter guy become different parts of your personality? Do they now coexist in your head? Like sometimes they have conversations with each other over random stuff? Or sometimes you would think something and realize ah that's producer guy talking? Thank you so much for all the videos love you.
Plot twist: the entire Ryan-verse is one big D.I.D. documentary
"I just...I...I don't care" is my new favorite catchphrase
I love how he plays the pitch meeting again for us first. As if I haven't just watched every pitch meeting at any given time 😅
i mean, your pitch meetings are always so good and entertaining and genuinely, authentically funny. Like, i laugh 'cause it's an involuntary action, not 'cause i know it's supposed to be funny...ya know? Thank you for that Ryan :)
Hey Ryan, I have a question. When will you do a Free Guy and John Wick 4 pitch meeting? Both of those movies were extremely popular and did well and i’m confused why you didn’t do them.
That's what she said
Lack of john wick 4 is especially confusing since he's done John wick 1 - 3
Maybe there wasn't enough to talk about for a whole pitch meeting.
I really like and appreciate the revisit videos. Fun insight into your thoughts and feelings on how you've grown and changed. You're so funny, thanks for all the laughs.
That short answer/long answer thing is hilarious😂 could be in a pitch meeting haha
Question... Will you ever do a crossover with some of your other characters/sketches, like Pitcher guy being the first guy to ever pitch a movie, or Producer guy thinking he is first person to ever make tons of money for basically doing nothing.
Question - have there been movies or TV shows that you wanted to do a Pitch Meeting for but decided against it for one reason or another?
"It could've been an email" was just *chef's kiss*
Physic’s teacher joke was the best 🤣
Also, Cipher lured Dom into a back alley, so they wouldn't be disturbed by other people like they would on a main road.
Probably... it makes sense at least. Just like spies/bad people, do.
Ryan, CONGRATULATIONS on the wedding ring!

Hey Ryan! Hope you see this comment or it looks like I’m talking to myself. I was wondering about that Spiderman leaving the MCU pitch meeting you did, would you ever consider doing something like that again, like parodies of how some producers came to ridiculous decisions? Also, you’ve mentioned how you enjoyed Peacemaker, would you ever do a pitch meeting for that considering it’s so tied to The Suicide Squad which you did do a pitch meeting for?
