So glad they immediately brought the bots back. The worst part of HD1 was when an enemy got knocked out and the war dragged on.
I wish they had waited like a week or so, and that’s coming from a bots only player, just made it all seem slightly less impactful
Seemed more impacful to me bro. They hit us at the crack of dawn after the night super earth celebrated… most of us were too hungover off super modelo to even react in time
@@lazybones107 I would have agreed with you if i didn't dislike fighting bugs so much, bots offer a much better challenge and i actually felt like a soldier in a war.
And it's kinda cool in a Warhammer-like fashion that a mere moment after celebrating a major victory we get our asses kicked again.

So far EMS and Shield Generator players are God sends for the crew. not everyone has to run them, but just two on the team makes a HUGE space for your team, especially when the doors get busted down. so far its one of my favorite new modes!
turrets against robots - yes (everyone were using all-turrets). Against bugs - not really, for some reason (almost no one uses all-turret builds)

Theres multiple gates, you can close them all and defend 1 at a time. When one breaks, you fall back behind the next wall. Mines are awesome here as well

Retrieve essential personnel missions (helldive automatons)
Every planet being a barren rural wasteland in every mission does get a little old sometimes.
Hopefully with the success of missions like this, the devs will see how much we love street fights like this and craft more suburban or even urban environments to go along with our rural ones
There are a few patches that it broke so many things it was actually more rage inducing than fun.
The time when patrols can spawn on top of you, shit crashes all the time, nerf the shit outta the railgun without tuning anything and chargers are rampant, defense mission are ass where there are so much spawns even a 4 people team have all strategems on cooldown and still get overwhelmed.
They are surely ironing alot of issues out especially it actually getting fun again.
Some times were certainly rougher than others. The first patch that messed with enemy spawns and created the "9 bile titans at once" type of gameplay loop sucked ass, but luckily the game was new so people stuck it out.
The explosive damage oneshot fix also felt so monumental that, in retrospect, it was kind of hard to imagine that the game was bearable vs bots without it.

Bugs wouldnt really work cause of titans i think, theyd be alot different i feel, cause bug breaches cant be sealed or shot down lol @@Limitbreak09

I have never in my life seen a game that adapts this well to their player base. Helldivers 2's management is the best ever.
Having seen the same thing many a times when modding Bethesda games, that weird red box thing at 2:00 is a collision mesh/bounding box to stop players climbing up/landing on those rocks.
For some reason it can sometimes become visible ingame with certain game engines.
Makes me wonder if the Helldivers engine and gamebryo share a common ancestor somewhere (or if Helldivers is using a legacy build of havok).
that's a good informative comment, I think they use bitsquid(that's is dead as of right now), dunno that engine relates to gamebryo or havok somehow
The HMG emplacement is wonderful against hulks just have to be hitting them in the red dot sight

@@TheCosmicAstro- I've taken down 3=4 with HMG placements and not just in the mission. You just need to hit the face. Aim to the side a bit and let one barrell do the work.
Defensive missions like these where the enemy attack in waves from one direction mean you need to hold out forward in front of the gate. When you lose the front position, you retreat behind the gate and set up again while the door holds them back. I play a lot of tower defense so this strat make sense to me.
One of the best multiplayer games I’ve played in a while, I’m so happy I got my whole group to get helldivers, kind of hard to play together if there’s 8+ of us but it’s all good. This game is truly a gift.
When will we see Cyborg and Human units with the bots since the bots are a Cyberstan Remnant group's creation

I was fully expecting to wait a little for the bots or new faction to come, maybe a bit of a "well earned downtime", but still... This new mission is great, can't wait to play it more! Long range turrets are definitely the way to go: mortars, AC and you can find a lot of vantage points to keep the waves at bay.
ermz i watch a lot of hell divers content creators but you're easily the best. the passion and excitement for the game you bring to every video makes me want to get diving immediately
What sold me was the TA soundtrack he plays over it
And even the fact that he is competent when playing.
I will not make names but there are other Content creators that are like still lvl 30 playing at diff 5 pushing out like 3 videos a day for every single reddit post or tweet from the devs and trying to give advice on the gameplay without even know the game

You should try the ballistic shield on automatons, I heard it is really good after the buff

If I had to make a suggestion, the loadout would be Quasar, EMS Mortar, 500KG, and autocannon/Tesla turret. If you all have the 2 500kg each, you should be able to coordinate dropping one every 20-25 seconds

I love this on Helldive. Often we don't have to seal the upper doors..

This mission actually feels like you are defending something. It's great.
They should add some city environments to further enhance the "defense" type missions, and make it seem like a real invasion.
This mission type is looking like a good candidate for the new AT mines coming soon

Recoiless reloads fast enough for 2 dropships, or more if you keep preaiming while the reload animation plays.

Mortar when from "praying they don't land on you" into actually a useful asset for the defensive game mode
Now we just need them to fully replace the old extraction mission with this. Defending people as they slowly make their way to a door is cool, until they drop Judgement Day on you every two seconds. *AND IT'S ALWAYS A SHIT TON OF EITHER CHAINSAW GUYS OR THE HULKS WITH FLAMETHROWERS USUALLY BOTH*
The HMG emplacement destroys hulks when hitting their weak spots. Eye and back.
Agree this mission type is awesome. Feels like a proper siege defense rather than an arena skirmish like the other defense missions.

On my first time doing one of these missions, I closed one single door which completely confused the enemy AI so they all ran to a corner and did nothing the whole mission.

Literally 3rd person tower defense game mode, as awesome as it gets.

the HMG sentry can destroy hulks pretty quick if you aim at the faceplate.
Its especially cool if you have an unreleased mech, Obsidian with two autocannons is best for this
Mortars mortars and more mortars for this mission.
Fun mission but xp earnings suck. Especially since they said the more xp you have the more impact you give for the defense/liberation of a planet

I would not be surprised if the indicator the game shows at the end of operations is complete BS, but I have not seen any evidence for the XP thing either.
Most notably, I think this solution would be nice and intuitive enough that they could just tell us if this was the case. It would incentivize players to actually do side objectives.

Not a big fan of those small map missions. I like the big map missions more i hope they add those also.
you've played it wrong, you need to reach the first gate in the bottom and setup fist line of defence there, and each time they breach the gate you retreat back and close the second gate setup defence parameteres on the ledges and hold again
I noticed smoke seems to work well on this. Since it slows the bots down and makes them way less accurate. I took a full smoke loadout by accident and was kinda surprised how well it worked.
How do you use the smoke? Just drop it directly on the bot landings, or what?
I don't know if it's just me, but this new mission is really buggy with the audio. With like 50 bots right in front of me and everything else going it just way to quiet. I guess there's just so much going on that the audio can't keep up

I legit want this exact thing but where WE get to build our set up, place our turrets and design it by spending requistion slips on base parts.
Then getting to customize a area on a planet of our choice- giving us our OWN defense missions when our planet is under attack.
Imagine building your base on Malevelon creek, and then whenever its under attack, and had a defense mission, the mission takes place in YOUR custom base, and players get to see it by joining people doing those missions.

Yeah, and it has gotten more changes and content additions than some games get over their entire lifetime. There have been some very palpable ups and downs here.
Please share this idea I think everyone will agree. I think the studio should allow real companies to run ads on the ships TVs. The companies would have to create ads as if they were in the Helldivers universe. This would allow Arrowhead to generate more money for the studio. We would also get a ton of hilarious commercials and everyone wins. Could you image a Tide commercial where a soldier is using detergent to clean blood or oil off their armor? Or grabbing a Pizza Hut pizza after killing bugs all day? I think it’s a great idea what do y’all think?

it doesn't matter... just like samples, xp is not an issue in this game. Medals are the true "bottleneck" if you don't play literally all day for dailies and orders, but the other resources just pile up and you'll reach cap before it's an issue. Highest level unlock is what, the mech at 25? It's whatever...
