Possibly "trustworthy" was the wrong word to use here when really what I meant was that I like the way Takibo tests and presents information
When they brought them out the first my buddy and I both landed on one. 4 hellpods kill it, we had a good time putting an autocannon turret on one and temporarily turning it into a friendly gun platform lol
I think AC sentry is worth a mention, it does require you to kill the top turret first but once that is done just drop the AC miles away and it's done.
getting under the factory strider was always the way i went, i used the eruptor and that’s capable of destroying the miniguns on its head in 1-2 shots, after i destroyed the miniguns and the big cannon on the back, essentially turning it into a big walking robot puppy, throwing a stun grenade at its underside as its spitting out devastators actually cancels it and no devastators will drop, from then on i just unload mags on its underside
Awesome vid! As an LC main, I'd just like to shout out that the Laser Canon crit bonus works WONDERS when shining it in their eye. Ive found 3-5 seconds of sustained fire reliably takes them down, and id be remiss not to sing praises anytime my big beautiful laser pointer is useful
@@a_bar_of_soap totally agree - the LC is such a useful tool against bots for killing heat sinks (towers, tanks, hulks), emplacements (arty goes down in 3 seconds from any distance), and just good ole fashioned bot-head-popping! Only things it don't do well with are large groups, AT-RTs, and at blowing up Fabs (ALL of which the Eruptor handles with ease for a killer pairing)

Blow off the top turret with the quasar cannon and then throw the laser stratagem. Also two hits to the under belly from the quasar cannon will kill it no problem. Done this several times already on strider hunting missions. Out in the wild it's a different story.
Summary of the video: There's a new mission to kill the factory striders. You can shoot the cannon off the top and turrets off the front, but this isn't effective for killing. You can shoot the vents as they open, but this is also really slow. You can kill it it with 380 barrage if it hits but it's rng. The 500kg bomb isn't good. It's under belly is very weak, but you can't realistically get to it in a full fight. The nukes around the map will one shot it if it's close to one. The auto cannon backpack weapon is likely the best weapon you can use against it. It will kill the turrets and cannon quickly, and even kill the strider with about half a mags worth of well places shots in the red light on its face. The eagle air strike can kill it if it's perpendicular to you and you hit it with most of the bombs. The orbital laser usually needs to be combined with other strategems like the rail cannon to kill it.
I have a stupid question: what is your keyboard and mouse assignment? Or to put it another way, why did you change the key assignment? And the sunglasses function on my helmet is broken. I'll probably have to ask HQ if I can get a replacement
Maybe its just the weird explosion shape and RNG of the 500kg, but I have 1 shot 2 separate factory striders with them. One was a direct hit to the head, the other was under its belly. There is something there, but there are enough more consistent methods that figuring out how the 500kg works is probably not worth it.
I haven't had a chance to try them out since the were re-added, but you used to be able to blow of the face place with heavy pen weapons and then destroy it rather quickly from the font with most med-pen (iirc) weapons. Did they removed this?
Easiest way I found was to drop a shield generator emplacement and then thump it in the face with a quasar cannon. The shield will tank all the minigun shots for quite a while before it gives up and it's definitely longer than the time you'll need with a quasar to fire two shots into it's face.
Didn't see it mentioned, they also have a weakpoint on their face, right where their "nose" would be. There is a thin strip where medium armor pen weapons can kill it, you can even use the normal laser cannon to kill both miniguns and the face.
1 mini nuke from an artillery also wrecks these things so if you get a mini nuke, note what slot its in and save it for when you need to take one of these down
I did not even know they had the mini guns or that they spawn devastators since every time I have seen them in-mission they are instantly replaced by 4 glowing suns of 500kg explostions, 32 grenades, 2 cluster bombs and a orbital lazer.
I was playing a SUICIDE level eredication defence mission and 4 of these mfs dropped on us within 10 seconds of each other. We barely made it out of there alive
As a level 9 nerd, these things come in 2 to a bot drop, sometimes. That happens, I'm throwing a 380 and fucking running. One of them, I have 500 kgs and precision strikes for that. And the gatling guns on the chin are FAR more deadly than the cannon turret, IMHO.
I'm glad they didn't tell us. Dropped into a mission and it spawn. Holy F that was a scary moment trying to figure out how to kill it with my load out I was using.
I found that the 500kg bomb was effective in taking it down or at least damaging it heavily, but just like with the bile titan, it needs to be in the right spot. The strider needs to be walking over it as the bomb explodes, this can be a little tricky. My two orbital railcannon strikes, however, decided that they needed to kill some ants instead, and didn't even bother locking on. May have just been bad luck. Also, first time encountering these was the night before last. Loading into a level 9 bot thinning mission, I said to my teammates "hey, wonder if we'll see the strider". Not even 10 seconds after landing, a dropship brings one in right in front of us.
A practical way in the future might be to fire an airburst rocket launcher at the underside of the factory strider because the airburst rocket launcher has a proximity fuse.
I am really surprised that you didn't mention the Laser Cannon. It is one of the best weapons for Factory Striders. Another fantastic Strat to bring is the HMG Emplacement.
My team and I always take 380/120mm barrages and Eagle airstrikes against bots. Along with at least one or two people with Autocannons, it makes dealing with them a breeze.
One thing that me and my buddy tested is that the mini-nuke from SEAF artillery sites one-shots is. HE two-shots it. And normal explosives take 2 to 4 depending on where they hit... for some reason... One thing that I need to mention is that smoke has proven invaluable to me in defeating these as - be it through a bug or an actual thing - their miniguns will refuse to lock on most of the time
id only found one strider so far so all i could have contributed was, they die pretty quickly to three orbital lasers being called on them at once, lol
The Hellbomb tip at the end made me think of the SEAF Artillery Mini-Nuke shells. Are those as powerful as Hellbombs or do they fail to take these out in one shot?
I found two 500s to be fine on it and with a team it's very easy to get to 500s off cuz they're so slow moving. Haven't played with the airstrike too much on it.
Takibo pls try the orbital gas strike against a bug breach. Imo it works just as good if not better than the ealge napalm. The bugs dont make it out of the breach since they die almost instantly (basically like napalm) but i see its use better because of the recharge time. Which is 75 seconds! making it always ready for the time delay on the next bug breach. Pls try it out. I always make sure it lands on the breache and i constantly get 40+ killsstreaks. I think its really slept on
I know content creators are annoyed when companies stealth-add features to games, but I think that it also causes us players to watch *way* more videos to find out if anything new has come out yet.
there 100% should be a difficulty 9 "eliminate factory strider convoy" mission or something where its 3 or 4 factory striders walking in a line or whatever
the reson why the eagal airstrike is good aginst them is because the side of the strider is weakness too. u can use lasor canon to kill it from the sides one eagal air strike and one lasor canon or the other way around
man, those are bombs the eagle airstrike drops, not rockets. simple difference is that rockets are self propelled, bombs get all their propulsion from the plane dropping them. other than that, nice vid and thanks for the info, soldier 🫡
I just got a mission with 2 of my friends when every drop keep dropping 2 of these. We fought around 20 of Factory Strider on one mission. I have to tell you, 2 Stratagem Jammers on the map didn't help. I'm very happy to watch this video, let me see what is your approach towards this guys...
If you hit a 500kg bomb under the strider it should one shot him, I did it once. Easier on standing targets, mine was luck it went right under its legs.
Worth noting the units that are set to be killed in a mission to kill them are tougher IE a strider or Titan kill mission will have a tougher one than what you find en mass in diff 7
Seen ppl say these were hell… 1st 1 I seen was at end of a lv9 difficulty during evac and it got dropped on top of a stranded hellbomb and it went flying/rag dolling 200 feet in the air 😂 easiest enemy yet

Our squad has found that one orbital laser and an eagle air strike make for a quick take down of a factory strider and the support bots around it.
Cooincidentally, I always carry both. Except for when they do that 1 Strategem down nonsense.

never fought one that close. last night we were killing them from half a map away with a dozen quazar shots or so.
Did you try the thermite granade? I doubt it can oneshot but hoping to find a ok use for it.

The precision strike also work wonder on those. One precision strike nearly OS them, and it's quite easy to pull it under their feets

If you land on them you can have the bots try and shoot you down (and therefore, shoot it's underbelly)

I have killed multiple factory striders with the 500 kilo bomb with one hit. You just have to throw it on top of its back near the vents.

It is a dot, so sometimes it works, and others, it does nothing depending on who the host is.

Ive been using SPEAR.. from across the map.
I was playing wradicate automaton mission on helldive and we got like 6 striders!
The spear while wacky to aim can take out the striders and its guns in a few shots, hulks in one and buildings in one all from very far away.
oh and tanks and turrets in one to two shots.
I was using the patriot exo suit against the factory strider and it took me 6 or 7 headshots until it finally destroyed

I am missing one extremly strong option in this which is the Autocanon sentry it is really fast taking them down
rocket pods are also good. most of the time it takes me 2 but sometimes even 1 does it

You should try the flamethrower shield backpack rail cannon orbital and 110 rocket pods stratagems in a video one time
We had 4 of these drop 1 rocket into a tower defense new map on suicide mission level... We died very quickly
