    The needle has to slide up and down in the nozzle super smooth. If it's in good order, it will slide out of the nozzle in about three seconds when you tilt the nozzle 45 degrees. If you hold the nozzle vertical and put the needle in, the needle has to slide in by its own weight.

    The needle should be a sliding fit in the nozzle, it needs to be removed and polished or you might as well stand in the corner and scratch your arse

    Da Doits! That's well and truly marking its territory on your patio with diesel.
    I'm happy now you squirted into a receptacle instead of up the wall! 😂

    An injector pipe got leaky on the Perkins A4203 from my tractor, it turned out that the end of the pipe was not flared as in (most?) modern diesel injection pipes, the flared end was a tiny machined piece of steel brazed to the pipe.
    Initially I thought it didn't sit well against the injector nipple so I bought some specific conical copper washers designed for those cases, then when I saw that the washer was useless I thought the pipe had a crack next to the flared end, but and after cleaning the remains of paint and rust from the pipe I saw that the end was a separate piece and that the brazing had failed.
    I didn't have any brass rods at home so I used a phosphor copper rod meant for copper plumbing thinking on getting later another pipe from the junkyard, but years later it's still working, I got a set of second hand pipes anyway, but as long as the old ones work I'm not going to replace them.

    If washing the gum out did not work it means that there is either rust or grit jamming it and all you can do is get another nozzle, there is a number on it and any good diesel injector service shop should be able to get one. You could try putting some injector cleaner in the test rig and pumping that through it a few times then leave it for a while then pump some more and also try running the engine with cleaner in the fuel.

    If the needle doesn't move then the injector won't work properly it needs the diesel to move through the holes to get to the seat and lift the needle in order to inject chap just get a fresh nozzle to slip in and it should be much better

    The pintle is not seating in the front of the nozzle. like a cylinder valve not seating and no compression but this case no pressure and leaking. If you can figure out how to dismantle the pintle and polish it back into the seat it will hold pressure and pop off at high pressure. Great video. on pins and needles to see this run.

      Yeah that nozzle was totally seized. Injector been fully rebuilt by a diesel shop now. So injector should not be a problem anymore.

    At 7:05, tighten that more. That should actually be torqued down! It needs rebuilding or replaced, but if it will start the engine, it might re-seat itself. At 13:55, make sure to tighten that line down!

    She's getting close now, your probably right in saying it'll all come back round or I think so anyhow sees as it's been sat a long while 👍

    • @NorfolkMancave
      @NorfolkMancave  Рік тому +1

      Yeah shes been sat for years. and that old diesel i took out of there was nasty think stuff. Thats probably still in the pump. Hopfully once shes been ran for a hour or so it will flush all that old crap out and start running on new diesel.

    This is a bit painful…. Several people left very helpful comments on your last video and you used my suggestion of the nylon rod to get the nozzle out…. Yet are continuing to mess about with it while the needle is stuck…. And a wire brush on the machines mating surface?? Hopefully not!
    I’d say there’s a fair chance of messing up the pump with that injector generating 5000psi back pressure!
    As someone else suggested - get a new nozzle - or try to free that one off a bit harder… You’re making yourself look a bit of a wally imho 😬
