Gonna try to watch this whole thing throughout the weekend. Once again, we appreciate the content. I can only imagine the amount of time you have in this video
For me Ali was at his best intellectualizing with a reporter. He actually was once on Firing Line with Bill Buckley. When Ali is raising his voice he can get annoying and its a bit uncomfortable. I think when he was first on the scene he was really good with his poetry and wit. But it got old as the years went on and then he was downright mean to Joe Frazier. Frazier didn't deserve any of that and I found it very sad. Plus those 3 fights didn't need any of the hype. But overall Ali is an amazing human being and fighter and I think he had a good heart. Finally I just want to say how amazing this channel is for getting such rare footage. One of the best docs Iv ever seen!
i am reading everyday....i spend hours everyday reading and researching.......i agree with what you are saying and i can only give my opinion in comment sections....as a Narrator i am not allowed to say these things in the documentaries but i really appreciate the feedback
It is irrelevant whether I was a fan of Ali or not, this is probably the best documentary i have ever seen . Your work is brilliant and the most thorough possible. The history aspics are riveting. FYI I have to say he Muhammad Ali was brilliant and brave. This is my final decision after watching all his documentaries. Truly convinced the greatest heavyweight boxer. Thank you ever so much for doing this, it is so comprehensive. Your work is brilliant. P for P Sugar Ray Robinson
Your professional ability to present true documentaries has improved immensely by presenting the subject facts without inserting opinions... well done sir.
thank you.....i learned that the presenter needs to keep their opinion out of documentaries........i will do that on my other channel if i feel the need....never on this channel again.......its not fair to the fighters to deviate from them and how the information was presented then......i worked on it and learned to just lay out the information and back up my words with proof and documentation.......i received some information from a few others who have done heavy research......and my only job is to place the information out there and thats where it ends......im glad that someone noticed.....i cant take back my earlier work.....but its a new day over here......the presenter should never bring forth their opinions in documentaries......i was not around in the 1960s and cannot relate to the times and even if i could i am to never place my opinion in these documentaries because its very selfish and brings flaws to my research
@@retroboxingdocumentaries4817 well said sir I don't know if you have heard of rich the fight historian on UA-cam but he's managed to get his documentaries on TUBI a roku channel i.m.o. you're recent work worthy of the same maybe you could check that out brother thanks for your hard work
Heavyweight ranking at 3:09:56 - check it out. Ali fought everybody ranked from no.1 to 12 with the exception of no.8 and 9 - Eddie Machen and Roger Rischer. And that's how you become the greatest - by fighting the best.
What a fantastic upload Blood. So much of this I haven't seen before & I thought I'd seen all footage on Ali. Another masterpiece to be proud of.! Props to you.!! Bless up bro 👊
Wow this was a great presentation. I'm a huge fan of Ali and have watched many documentaries about him but never seen alot of the info in this documentary. The rare footage and actual news articles from the time were real cool to see. Thanks for the work Blood. 👍 46:30......hey also this song from the 60s called A Shot of Rythm and Blues was cool to hear! I covered this song a few times in a cover band I was a member of. Haha nice!
Some fantastic footage I've previously seen some of it, but definitely not all you have gathered. Listened to this fight on Grandad's floor model RCA radio. I lived in Portland Maine so the rematch in Lewiston Maine was extremely exciting regardless we again listened on the old floor model RCA ! We had plenty of news print to read and collect. I was 7 years old at the time and Clay changing his name to Muhammad Ali was a bit confusing for me to understand unfortunately none of the adults in my life at the time likely understood it either, but that's another era . I recall Grandad talking about the size of Sonny Listons fists thinking Clay didn't have a chance hence I cheered for Clay , we ofen did that, choose different sides so one of us would go to bed happy, haha. Obviously I became a great fan of Mohammed Ali... RIP The Greatest of my time in many ways not simply boxing. Fantastic documentary greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for uploading this. I’m a lifelong Ali fan, and had no idea some of these things were said and took place. Keep up the good work. Just subscribed.
This is like a special edition magazine and VCR tape video rolled into one. Took me four days to watch it all because I was pausing and doing lots of reading along the way. Reading and lisening is a lost art and skill of today. There are a few channels that I categorize as a secret Boxing vault channel, designed to give generations and so forth wealth of Boxing history and knowledge of some great Men; and this is one of them. Sir Blood, salute my Brotha.
i like the way you laid that out...im going to get deeper into some of the other fighters so we can gain an understanding of the information and how it was presented back then....i will never stray away from how the info was presented back then ........i use the magazines, film and articles of the time....whether i agree with the articles or not thats not important.....i have to present the info as it was presented ....thanks man because it is good to know the viewer enjoys the content.....any advice is great too
I was a little too young in '64, to understand this fight but as I grew, it only added admiration to the list of tributes I felt towards Muhammad. Liston led a sad life, but he WAS a coward. Witness Ali, in the 5th or 6th round after Liston dosed his eyes with an irritating liniment or cream and he was basically blinded. At this stage,( and he had 3 minutes to do it), Liston could have just whaled on Muhammad, but he was still too afraid; especially after Ali got in some great shots, early rounds. Ali...What an impressive human.
best documentary on the most charismatic and greatest sportsman in sports history ..what a treat ,t This is an absolute gem really appreciated keep up the great work
the king of heavyweight boxing talk......i will get more into these 60s heavyweights and start building up to the 70s heavyweights.......this is a lot of fun bro
Amazing and thorough presentation. I consider myself to be nearly an expert on the life of Muhammad Ali and am blown away by how well done this is. My only gripe is the fact that the presenter misuses two words and this error was repeated multiple times. Naturally, now that I am actually writing a comment, I cannot recall what the two words are. I will list them when they are misused again. Still, overall, this is a tremendous effort. A+.
I’m currently watching this about an hour into it and this is great really love all your documentaries blood nobody puts in as much time and effort to making quality boxing Docos as well don’t stop making them man your doing a great job Salute 🥊💯
“Maybe Liston wouldn’t have been as playful” with the Beatles compared to Clay is the most obvious statement made in a way that suggested pondering about it, which made me stop right there.
This is FANTASTIC footage where did you get this from, I had no idea that they were arguing about the officials or who they were going to be 10mins before the fight, great video and I'm not even half way through yet 😊
Its a shame that Mike Tyson wasn't able to keep himself and his career together as did Muhammad Ali, it would've been really something to behold and it would've been the stuff of legend.😢

There is footage of Liston pulling that gun. It did have blanks. He fired it into his suit coat to prove it.
Jack Dempsey did seem like an old man screaming at the youngsters to get off his lawn.
How did u acquire all this footage?????

Ba-ha-ha-ha-ha !!!😂😂🤣!!!
And true…thEy did a famous 🎉photo shoot w then Clay in Miami

Woooahhh chill bro
That blew my mind
I know Liston would not appreciate the Beatles music or the Beatles period. He liked his James Brown. I could just imagine his annoyance🤣🤣🤣
And Night Train!
I watch this type shit with ease!
I find it interesting that Ali felt he was so "pretty" and untouched, but in reality he took a LOT of punishment.
