    The words hero and greatest are bandied around way too often. But this man was the epitome of what it is to be a hero and the greatest. he was a black man born in segregation yet at death was embraced by every man whatever their creed, colour religion. The Whites loved him, The Latinos, The Chinese, The Indians, The South Americans, The Asians, The Arabs, Greeks, Italians, the Buddhists, Christians, Hindus every one not just his own black and Muslim people. Shakespeare said, some men are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust on them. Yet we can say, in Ali, all 3 terms apply and he used that greatness for good.

  • @UT5000
    @UT5000 12 років тому +2

    I am glad Ali changed his racism, lets be honest he faced racism first by judeo-x-tian segregation first so he fought back and then changed like Malcolm X (RAhimahullah), I m so glad they both changed to true Islam later on.
    Ali changed from a time of hate into a symbol of confidence and acceptance, racism is due to weakness and insecurity!
    Ali however as a grown man became a great champion who backed up everything.

    The young Joe Frazier 1967 - 1969 would have caught Muhammad Ali, cornered him and beat him up on the body the same way. 1960s Ali never faced a fighter of the same tenacity, pace and pressure that he did when he fought Frazier in 1971. It would have been a great fight during Ali's exiled years. He probably beats Joe in a decision had that happened and Joe probably wins the rematch. George beat up an overconfident, out of shape, disinterested Frazier who was basically looking past him at a big money rematch with Ali. Joe admits that was one of the biggest mistakes of his career and George knew that he had already climbed the mountain when he beat Ali. Frazier was primed for an upset and George took advantage of that.

      @@richardbranton7396 Ali said he felt like throwing in the towel himself. He said that was the closest to death he'd felt in the ring and could only stand and collapse when Frazier's corner threw their towel in, Frazier's manager the great Eddie Futch said he'd seen a boxer expire and die under similar conditions, Joe was totally blind and couldn't see out of either eye. At the end of the previous round, 14th Joe had to be led by the referee to his corner. That fight was criminally brutal.

      @@aarondigby5054 saying he felt like it and "admitting he wasn't coming out " are two different things ,why wouldn't he feel like not coming out? He was coming out ,nowhere anywhere has he ever said he wasn't coming out.He knew he was ahead ,he knew Joe had even less than him left and guaranteed he wasn't going to give Joe the satisfaction and bragging rights ,people like to talk about how tough Joe was or this guy or that guy,no one was tougher than Ali.

    In hindsight, I wonder if going into film to star in fighting movies or being a Don King type boxing promoter would’ve satisfied his need to be in the limelight.
