Muffler Delete Was Too Loud 😂 (2021 Elantra SEL Exhaust Vlog)

- Decided to go louder on my 2021 Elantra SEL. I already have a vibrant Ultraquiet resonator and an oval style Magnaflow muffler, but I decided to try a muffler delete to see how it sounds. I liked the sound outside the car, but there was way too much drone for me.
Stay tuned for the next video, when I add another vibrant Ultraquiet and move my tip placement.

You’ll see what I mean around 7:00, sounds like a weed eater in there 😅
good to see another SEL getting love!
As someone actively saving up for an N line myself right now im loving how ur like the only one i can find who mods out this car. Im definitely subbing.
Hey man, I've been watching your Elantra content for a couple months since I got a 2023 in the same color and have been inspired by your mods. I currently have the same exhaust setup with a vibrant ultra quiet but had them run a 2.25" pipe from where my muffler was to a single tip that has baffles which slightly reduces the sound. If I weren't so lazy id upload my own videos haha. Love the content and can't wait to see the next step in your exhaust mod!
That’s awesome, I think the vibrant uq is a great choice for this car. I liked the magnaflow tone, but there’s something about the vibrant that fits the car so well
@@ace_helix4186 Originally I swapped out the stock muffler with a borla pro xs and loved the tone but it didn't quite have the "oomph" that I was hoping for. Added the vibrant uq and while it rounded out the sound, still didn't have the volume i was hoping for. You're definitely right on the money with swapping the stock res for the uq
@@garrettharper855 I would be curious what a bottle style vibrant resonator would sound like with an Ultraquiet for the muffler. But my current setup sounds almost the same inside the car at wide open throttle as it did without the muffler. It’s just quiet unless there’s load on the engine pretty much.
@@ace_helix4186 Can't wait to see the new vids coming! I also wonder what it would sound like if I went with a bottle style over the uq, I'd love to play with the downpipe or swap out the cats with high flows to see how it sounds but worry about throwing codes or not passing emissions. I've also contemplated putting a K&N intake on to add to the sound and performance
@@garrettharper855 I agree 100%, I would be curious how the bottles would sound. They would be much louder for sure. I’m thinking of eventually replacing the secondary cat with high flow so it’s probably better with two Ultraquiets in that case.
Really appreciate this video Ace, can’t wait to see how the second resonator is going to sound like. I’ve been holding off on doing all of this because I wanted to make sure I know how I want it sound before spending money on parts. I think both the before and after sound great in my opinion, but just like you said it’ll sound different in person vs the camera audio. When it’s time for me to do this I will definitely hit you up
I love how it is with the two vibrant UQ’s, and am curious what it would sound like with a 2nd cat delete, or having a bottle style vibrant in the midpipe, with a vibrant uq in back.
If I were starting fresh, I would probably replace the stock muffler with a vibrant Ultraquiet. Then depending on how I like the sound, I would change the resonator.
I found that when I replaced the stock resonator with a vibrant uq it wasn’t much of a volume change, more of a tone change. So if you then wanted to add volume, I would try a bottle style resonator.
@@ace_helix4186 I have a lot to learn I’m not familiar with a lot of these terms. Only the basics (resonator & muffler delete). This is my first car, got it back in January of last year. Still new to the car community but I enjoy learning from people like you
@@brandonandino4705 don’t worry, this was my first car build so I had to learn everything along the way. Lots of forums and googling lmao.
I actually have a video planned that you will love. The evolution of my exhaust with all sound clips. Standby 🫡
@@ace_helix4186 Can’t wait to see it!!🫡
2:22 what light bulb is that? I like that it’s not super bright, do you have a link to it or the brand of that light?
i was wondering why this looked so familiar, i live there and i went to this shop to get a muffler delete too! my stepdad is friends with the owner. what a small world.
I have a 21 Elantra and it’s bone stock, I really want mine to sound like yours, any recommendations? what’s the first thing I should do?
First I would replace the muffler with a vibrant Ultraquiet resonator. If you wanted it louder after that, you could delete the stock resonator
@@ace_helix4186 sweet man thank you so much! I love your Elantra it’s clean !
Sounds beautiful bro 🔥🔥sounds like an animal growing at 7:12. Tip placement doesn’t look too bad, looks more ‘in place’ not too far left or right
Tbh I do love how it sounds, I just couldn’t handle how it was on the inside of the car. The camera doesn’t do the drone justice haha! Wish I could have just kept it that way, but I love how it is now. I’m editing up the sequel to this video 👌
@@ace_helix4186 yeah the camera won’t pick up how bad the droning will be in the cabin because it sounded low but definitely waiting on the sequel 🙏🏾
@@Tmoneywarrior yeah it’s tough to tell in the video for sure. Uploading part 2 soon, editing almost done. Standby 👌
Where did you got the rear diffuser?

Hey man, if I were to just cut out the muffler and add no resonator at all do you know if it would sound good?
I hated the sound of mine without a rear resonator/muffler. It was super loud inside the car but the tone to me just didn’t sound good (a little weed wacker-like) IMO. The vibrant ultraquiet in place of the stock muffler was a huge difference
I got mine done there to for my 2021 elantra
Anywhere specific on where you bought these products to modify your car link them below!!!
Your car Sounds better than mine but I just did a plane muffler delete I’m not sure what else you did but it sounds great
All my body pieces are from eBay. I replaced my resonator with one of these Vibrant 1140 2.25" Ultra Quiet Resonator a.co/d/8vgkKGB
But after this video it was too loud for me inside the car, so I put another one in place of the muffler.
what exhaust setup is that how u get it to sound that good?
This video was a vibrant ultra quiet resonator in place of stock resonator. Muffler deleted with straight pipe.
I liked the sound from outside at first but it was annoying in the car so I added another vibrant uq in place of the muffler after this
I have a 21 Elantra sel and my dash sucks how’d you get a fullscreen dash?
That came with the convenience package, also came with wireless phone charging and adaptive cruise etc
What size inlet is it for the resonator?
I used 2 1/4” resonators
How did you get the cluster screen to look like that?
Navigate the menus with buttons on your wheel, have to uncheck the box that links theme to drive mode and select the theme manually. I think it was called theme D or something like that
@@ace_helix4186 thanks.
What size is the piping for it? Thanks!
I believe stock was2” or 2 1/4”. They brought it up to 2 1/2” on this job
You modded a base Elantra/i30?!?
A SEL model for fun and looks but not speed/performance
@@ace_helix4186 do anything to the engine, like that air intake thing they do on the N and nline?? Like it’s crazy, because you think that people only like modding the N, but it turns out people also like modding it’s baby brother, the nline😂 Like today I saw a white I30 nline hatch where the owner had put those racing stripes across the bottom of the doors with the “N” logo on it. I’ve also seen a similar design, but it says “N-Line” on the racing stripe. Then over the course of this week I have seen a couple of white nline hatches, like I swear one had a pops and bangs exhaust tune. Even spotted 5 velosters yesterday and the day before - even though they weren’t from the N division. But online I see quite a few nlines and velosters are modded
@@aussiefurbymogwaifan6621 for sure, I did an intake on mine just to see what it would be like haha
Where did you get the front lip at?

If I do a muffler and resonator delete how do I make the car pop
Maybe 2nd cat delete. We don’t get pops easy without a turbo
Oh what about straight pipe
@@BilalAli-rn3ys if you straight pipe to get rid of the 2nd cat also you might get some but I’m not sure.
Honestly I didn’t like the sound in the car without just the muffler so I know it would be pretty loud haha
what size exhaust tip did you put on?
I think it was 2.5” inlet with dual 3” exits.
Hey ace what rims are those?
2019 Veloster r spec wheels 👌
where did u get the side skirts?
Idk if the same post is up there, but got them from eBay. Specific to the 2021+ elantras
Did you take your cats out or no?
My cats are stock
Is it possible to route it to a double exit
It’s possible, but you have to add a y pipe and run a pipe around the gas tank to the other side.
I especially like the single pipe, because it makes it much cheaper when you want to change it up haha
There was a dude who had a 21 SEL with the dual exhaust setup. He unfortunately totaled the vehicle.
How much was the delete all in all
You could do a simple muffler delete for $100-$200. I just went more complicated for my tip placement and resonator setup.
They can just cut out the muffler and weld in a straight pipe quick and cheap
@@ace_helix4186 would you recommend a RES Delete as well?
@@AF_Mechanic_Guy just deleting the muffler with the stock resonator still on was way too loud in the car for me.
I would rather delete the resonator and keep the stock muffler to see what it sounded like.
sounds like normal elantra , nothing new
They all have basically the same engine so it should sound pretty similar
@@ace_helix4186 can you add 3 autometer gauges with a pillar in elantra and make a video of that please
@@sagarkapoorcanada if I had the n or nline I would, since mine doesn’t have a turbo I don’t have much to track with gauges
