Got my SEL yesterday and it was labeled as appearance package and came with black tinted side windows and carpeted floor matts. The tinted windows are a nice touch

Great video. I am in Canada and it blows my mind how different the trim levels are. The main one being our "SE" level called "Essential" is available with a manual transmission while our N-line is an automatic 7 speed only.

I remember when I was going on the hunt for my 21’ Elantra SEL I binged your video travelled to more than 10 dealerships in the search for my Elantra. I went 3 hours away to Miami for an appointment with a person to look at a car they told me wasn’t even there anymore. My car buying experience for my Elantra was the worst. In. My. Life. Then I found her on Carvana. It was love at first sight and I got my princess a week after first seeing her profile.

@@KyleTexx Actually the limited edition is basically the fully loaded edition. Has yes leather seats but also alot of other extras that the premium doesnt have. I wanted one but because of the car shortage when i bought my car last sept i had to get the SEL with some extra packages.

Very informative review, very helpful for people who try to decide which trim level they want to buy. For me, it’s definitely SEL premium, because wireless apple carplay is a necessary convenient feature, going up to limited is not an option for me. And I also absolutely love to just put my hands behind the door handle to unlock the car automatically, so going down the trim levels is also not an option.

Just bought our daughter the 2021 Hyundai Elantra SEL with convenience and premium packages, bringing it right below the Limited trim in features! Which just so happens to be the first car that my husband and I bought as our first new car ever, the 2002 Hyundai Elantra! Which is what caused us to become loyal Hyundai Customers for almost 20 years now. That car was a beast, and only cost us $13,000 brand new back then! Because I know it’s one of the safest car on the road being the winner of the North American Car of The Year award, and they jam packed the tech into this thing, it was a no brainer for us to go back to the Elantra when our daughter was ready for her first car. Makes this mom just a little less anxious with our daughter out there on the road. I’m a 2018.5 Sonata Limited 2.0T+ driver and my husband a 2014 Santa Fe Limited Ultimate driver, the last model with the third row. We are a true Hyundai Family ♥️

@@homehome2707 If you haven't bought it yet I think the blue SEL Premium one he shows is the best deal. I have it in Calypso Red. It's about 23900 sticker price. The Limited doesn't seem to have anything else I wanted, AND it seems (people all over internet complaining) that the Linted's larger screen DOES NOT have wireless to your phone. You need an aux cord. WTH?? I love the safety features--- my Progressive insurance is gonna be about $35 lower per month than my 2015 Prius so that's a WIN!

That circle is where the "drive mode "button used to be.
Kind of. Only the Elantra N Line has the drive mode button where that circle is. Every other Elantra, it's just a design element.

Hyundai’s convenience and premium packages are confusing, they put seat back pockets and 2nd row’s fold down arm rest with cup holders in the premium package when they are convenient features. They put digital gauge cluster in the convenient package when it’s clearly a premium feature. Also, having sensors behind the door handles also seems like a convenient feature to me. They put Leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob in convenient package, which should be in the premium package. Last but not least, they should also put leather seats and LED headlights in the premium package as well, but they didn’t.
I know all about the package confusions because I have to deal with changes every year. Lol

I have the quartz white with convenience package, a couple gripes I have is the rear seat isn't 60/40 split and no center armrest, also the trunk floor seems really thin and cheap, hopefully I can see about a possible trunk floor liner that may ad some strength to it. Been pretty happy so far, coming from a 2018 Elantra GT, miss the hatchback feature but all in all we're happy. If anyone is on the fence the 2021 is definitely a step up from before, the convenience package makes it feel more European like a new style Benz .

I currently have a great 2018 Hyundai Ioniq SEL hybrid nearing lease-end, and have been considering the same car you have...2021 Elantra SEL in white with convenience pgk. But my concerns are the same as you've actually experienced... no 60/40 split rear seat (which the Ioniq has), thin trunk floor (the Ioniq's is very strong), and personally I've never been a fan of trunk hinges (the Ioniq has struts due to the hatchback). Also, the Ioniq SEL and 2021 Elantra SEL w/conv pkg are about the same price, and the Ioniq includes features for the same price that the Elantra SEL/convenience doesn't have... turn signals on outside mirrors, rear center arm rest with cup holders, LED daytime running lights and tail lights, power driver seat w/adjustable lumbar, front passenger seatback pocket, significantly more cargo room, and most significant of all, can go nearly 700 mi on a 12 gal tank, and is really quick for a hybrid. One big feature the Elantra has that the Ioniq doesn't have is the mini spare tire. But a spare can be purchased for the Ioniq. I really like the modern new aggressive styling of the 2021 Elantra and I like the idea of free maintenance for three years, but after much consideration, I'll most likely purchase the Ioniq at lease end, especially considering it only has 16k mi, still looks new, and never had any problems. Sorry, just thinking 'out loud' here. But I do like the look of the new Elantra.
I have the 2022. I'm 6'5" tall and it is a tight squeeze for head room but it does have good leg room.

I was at Hyundai dealership yesterday what's is the best trim level to purchase i'm thinking about going for the sel trim level.
If I would be buying one, I would get either the regular SEL or the SEL with the Convenience Package for the wireless charger and big screens.

3:49 so the car is at risk of being stolen? Does the key fob need to be near you in order to unlock and start or will it unlock and start anyway? How do I know if my car is locked when I can open it and start it without the fob?
You need the key in order for the car to unlock. If you push the button on the door and don't have the key, the door WONT open.
You need to have the fob on you and be within 3 ft of the car in order for it to unlock.

They changed the name of the package. Now if you want sunroof, electric seat and things like that, you need the SEL Premium

I have this car with the premium package. the cluster themes are just different "looks" for the info panel and can be changed under driver preferences. There's actually a Theme D that's my favorite. No round dials, just 2 cubes that have big mph and rpm numerals. The cubes spin every time you hit an even ten when accelerating. It's a great car!

The wireless isn't available if the car brings the factory navigation.

The limited will have leather, the 10.25 inch touchscreen, dynamic voice recognition, ambient lighting, rear parking sensors, highway drive assist, and a few more. Pruce difference is about $1,500

Yes, push the black button on the door handle to lock and unlock. If you have an SEL Convenience or higher push that little dimple on thr door handle to lock it.

By accident ?
Some packages allow a use of an android phone as a key, if that helps.
If you manage to lock the key in your car, a lot of things went very wrong. But for conversations sake, you can use the spare key. Also, another commenter was correct. You can use the free BlueLink app on your phone to unlock the car as long as it is the SEL or higher versions.
This car is terrible in winter weather. My complaint about this car is that it doesn’t haven’t good insulation because it’s all plastic. I got my car while I was still living in GA. Then life happened and I moved out to CO. The snow, ice all of it has been negatively affecting the cars computer system to where everything freezes over. Yeah the car is fuel efficient but I hate all of the cheap plastic interior design and the computer operating system which you can’t update yourself. Also “Accessory mode” is frustrating when you just want to listen to the radio, but then constantly get a “Battery Discharge Warning” I love going to the Movies at the Drive In and this feature really ruins that. I love/hate my car. I loved my previous car “2013 Hyundai Sonata” more. After having my car for a full year now, I regret it and I feel like I was tricked into trading in my already paid off car for another one I didn’t need. My salesperson was not great at showing me all the feature of the car like this guy. But he was very pushy persuasive.

There is a problem with the design
There should be a few places
Easy access for cables
We keep cords for our phones in the car
And at this point there is no easy place Access point for them
My 2008!had a deep door bin where the cords stayed safe
